Yet, millions of her fans still honor and celebrate her music.
As for the man she loved, Chris Perez, he says not a day goes by that he doesn't think of her.
I'm really happy right now with everything going on, said Perez.
At 45, Perez is working as hard as ever.
He splits his time recording music in San Antonio and Miami.
He also spends a lot of time in Corpus Christi with his two children from his second marriage and with the family of Selena.
We're really tight, he said. We like to spend time with each other when we can.
Perez still considers them family

"She wasn't done." To me, that's the saddest part. Losing someone so beautifully talented as Selena is of course tragic, but the bigger tragedy is all that could've been. The boutiques would've expanded, she would've become the world's biggest female pop singer, she would have sold out stadiums in every corner of the world. She would've had that farm, she and Chris would've had their big family, and she could be here now, promoting her new MAC makeup line! I miss her so much, but in the end, I'm so proud of what she did in life, and how we still celebrate her today.

His love for her is so strong. In an 1997 interview he even said when Selena died. He lost half of himself and nothing will ever fill it that he feels empty. I do not think anyone can ever replace her for him Their connection was so strong.
There's things in life that you sometimes can't recover from and this is one of them. He's been heartbroken since Selena died. And I don't think he will ever be truly be happy until they meet again where Selena will be waiting for him on the other side.

People have to try to move on after someone dies I'm sure there are days when it gets really hard for him because he is still in love with her I was close to my dog but had to put him down and a few years later i got another dog and I'm very close to her and love her to death just because people move on it doesn't mean the pain is gone

My heart literally breaks every time I remember Selena died. I love her music and she was just so amazing. To hear about all the dreams she had, and how she wanted children. It breaks my heart because that was taken from her by that women.
So sad. Windows and widowers so often drift apart from their spouses family not long after their death, especially if they had no kids and weren't married very long so it's really good to hear he is still close with her family after all these years.
