Bought this tent a while back for backpacking with my gf and gotta say, its quite a roomy tent to be a 2p tent. We both use wide sleeping pads and it fits like a glove. Even got space enough at the head/toes for dumping ur sleeping bag if it gets to hot 😅 The doublesided vestibules are awesome for storing the backpacks out of the rain with even space left to easily get in and out of the tent! Couldn't have bought a better first backpacking tent for its price! Ps. Just a tip when staking/tightening the vestibules, always stake it out and tension it whilst the doors are closed! Makes it easier to zip up and down and also guarantees a more even tensioning (which makes the tent last longer) 😉
The short aluminum tube is a tent pole splint, to be slid over a snapped or cracked tent pole, splinting it adequately enough to get you through your trip. It is not meant for straghtening stakes.
When we camp (which is not too often) and the weather is going to / might be wet, I put a decorators plastic dust sheet under the ground sheet / footprint first and that saves it getting muddy and having to clean it before packing everything away
Really nicely made and concise video! Been looking for my first tent to do some car camping near me and this seems to fit the bill perfectly for my needs - thanks for the review!
Great video. I've had my Aurora 2p for about 3yrs and love it. Easy to setup, lots of room. My only complaint is it packs a little large/long and not the best for inclement weather. I use mine for motorcycle camping in the summer so no big deal. My 2 other fav pieces of camping equip are my UGQ Bandit quilt and Big Agnes Rapide SL pad...
Great review. The only thing I would change is to zip the vestibule door shut before staking the corner so you stake it evenly every time, and to stake the vestibules before tightening the corners of the fly. I get the best tension on my rain flies when I tighten all 6 adjustment points ( all 8 for my Nemo dagger) at the same time.
Excellent review! Bought this tent recently (May 2024) and it currently has double zippers for the doors now. In case the single zipper was a deal breaker for any one. I'll have to double check to see if the new one is compatible with the Pawsprint interior footprint.
Great vid! I recently purchased this tent. I have been looking up and down to figure out what that extra piece of tubing is. You answered my question. Thank you!

Great review" thank you. I just ordered one from REI. It was a toss up, between that and a half dome REI, Nemo was on sale that was the breaker, I'm 61? And want to start backpacking again, around AZ, I was a backing full from 17yrs. Old to 27, around the smokey mountian, in NC. And TENN. And me and my friends would do it together, in winter and summer, I learned back then, especially, in winter, you get what you pay for? I just Love sitting in a good tent, having a great time when the wind And the rain are going crazy, and feeling safe! Anyway great can't wait to get my new tent!
It did great through a thunderstorm last night. Not sure about winter though, as long as it's not too windy and you have a good sleeping bag it's probably ok down to maybe 20f. I would call this a 3 season tent
Its not as small as most 2p (backpacking) tents though! I easily fit 2 wide sleeping pads in it without putting any strain on the inner tent (Sea to summit Ether light xt insulated wide and womens wide should u wonder).
Yours is the best review of this tent I have seen so far. You mention features, and explain them clearly, that others fail to. Thank you!
I'm Glad you enjoyed my review. Thanks for the feedback!
I have this tent. It's light years ahead of anything Coleman makes. It's so well designed that I actually enjoy setting it up.
I use mine once a month with my son's scout troop and love it
Without a doubt the best review on RUclips of this tent, thanks a lot!
I'm glad you liked it!

I have blue tarp the same exact size as the footprint I use for that
@@SevenFortyOne definitely important for it to be the same size or it will trap rain water!
Thanks for the video! Trying to decide on a new tent
Nice review Rob....thanks!

This should work well for you. Glad you liked my review!
thanks for sharing I feel like I could put this tent up on first try just from watching the video 😁

I'd like to do some motocamping but never seem to be able to find the time. I've been looking for a sleeping pad - I'll check out big Agnes....
Yes it does pack large, I was thinking that when I opened the box.
Thanks for this, very helpful.
Nice review and setup instructions.
Thanks

Over all not a bad tent! 😁🤷♂
How warm? Can it be used in winter?

“just a little bit better quality”??? There’s no comparison…Nemo’s build quality and refined design is unmatched by Coleman. 😂
Is this the 2 or 3 person version

How this compre to the REI half dome 2p tent?
I'm not familiar with the REI tent so unfortunately I can't say
