i can get this tent for 220, first time campers for my wife + i and 3.5year old daughter. seems like i could fit exped single + duo. ideally wife and i use the duo and daughter would use my single. should give us 25-30'' of free space assuming 88x72. 41x72 and 25x72
do you think this would be a great option for 220 or should we consider others?
@@MatroniFitness $220 for the 3 person? That is a great deal and probably one of the best you can find for a tent of this size with an included footprint.
@@DKAdventureCo yes! My only fear is will it be too small? I have a few friends who said with daughter there won’t be much extra room or room to hang out in case of weather. I’ll be camping in Colorado. Both for myself for MTB races + trips. Hope to just sleep out of the back of 4R. Or bring family along

@@MatroniFitness Yeah if you have only 25 inches of room left after you lay out the sleeping pads that’s not a lot of room for gear or for hanging out. If you think you might spend a lot more time inside the tent instead of sleeping you may want to consider a 4p family tent with higher ceilings. Nemo has one like that called the Aurora Highrise and there’s other similar to it on the market.
I watch a lot of gear reviews; this one is spot on! At one point owned the 2p Aurora. I bought it for solo backpacking. Wish I had seen this review prior to the purchase. Enjoyed the fact you emphasized more than once neither the 2p & 3p are backpacking tents. This line of tents is an excellent choice for car camping, as stated in the video. Keep up the great work, definitely looking forward to more videos.

I definitely don't regret my purchase of the Aurora 2p because I actually really love it and it's great when car camping solo and super comfy for backpacking, but yes it is definitely a bit heavy though still doable. If someone is purely backpacking I recommend a different tent depending on your budget
Thank you for this. Actually, in my country wild camping is prohibited by law and most trails in national parks are one-day trips. There's no reason for me to buy an ultralight backpacking tent. This one looks good enough to be used when camping with my significant other for a couple of nights in a designated area, especially since we arrive by car.
I have the 4P car camping Nemo high rise. I love it. I can stand up in it. 😁 this looks nice too. The vertical walls makes the tent seem palatial. Happy camping. REI & Backcountry has these tents on sale including right now fairly often. 😊
The High rise looks nice! It’s going to be my first choice when I upgrade my large tent. I’ve got the REI kingdom 4 which is also large enough to stand up in. Love the tents that are like that. - Kyle

As much and it’s not a great “backpacking” tent.. I believe if your solo no. But I have it for myself and my 2 kids (5,10)and a dog. This is a nice “small” tent for multiple people. We are all shorter below 5’4” and can all lay comfortably vertically along the horizontal length of the tent. Unfortunately light weight doesn’t work when you solo with kids. I got it for the largest floor space to weight/ height ratio for the size and price. And yes the zipper is very annoying 😅

JR here. Bought my 2p I wanna say early 2020. Have fun with it it's a great tent!
Im not totally convinced in that with 3p they meant 3 person or 3 season . But it seemes to be a really nice one person hiking rent..
It's meant to be 3p if you are all very close together. For 2 people out could be fine though. 1 person and you've got yourself a back country mansion!

JR here. I really like the blue because it looks really cool when lit up and it is easier to see at night when it's very dark and you are disoriented!
Why do you need rocks if no fly? And the rocks you place on top of stacks?
Hi! What I meant was if you want to go for the simplest/lightest setup possible in good weather, you can pitch the tent with no fly and use rocks to weigh down the tent rather than stakes. - Kyle
