    This is a direct copy of a Brompton, with some fine ad ons. I would like a hydraulic disc brake in front (Not just a mechanical brake), but actually mine functions very fine, I know from riding down a steep serpentine road. I have changed to a Ceramic Titanium crank and many other parts, to make my Ligthweight even lighter.

    • @edwardwongiii2229
      @edwardwongiii2229 Год назад

      Having owned a small wheel bike (not this one) for a good while, I would say that hydraulic brakes are an overkill for the limited diameter of the wheels. But if you are going to use one hydraulic brake, it should be mounted on the rear, not the front which could cause you to go over the handlebars in the event of a sudden braking incident.

    • @fredphua
      @fredphua  2 года назад

      Yeah I've seen them and they are nice! I guess the Tiagra has also been factored into the price. To me, my POV is that the derailleurs are not too expensive to switch out so it didn't become pivotal in the consideration. But yes... just my own view. ;)

      @@fredphua of course! I'm still shopping a secondary trifold bike to my Brompton. Brompton are about $2,000 here in the United States, the price has increased $200 in the last 6 months. Thank you very much for putting me on to this. They look excellent and the price point is about one-third that of the Brompton. I don't know what shipping or additional fees would be but I can't imagine they'd be half the cost of the bike so it would still be under half the price of a Brompton for more speeds on what sounds like a rather resilient build. I know the final cost of Mobot Camp Royale is much closer to the cost of a Brompton for me and the 3sixty seems to need a lot of upgrades. Litepro just doesn't seem to have the quality even though it's half the price.

    • @fredphua
      @fredphua  2 года назад

      Hey Issac, pleasure's mine and hope the opinions were of help.
      I didn't really try it on my 3Sixty. I can hit higher top speeds on my 3Sixty because of the higher gear ratios but couldn't sustain for long. The next gear downwards is too light, so I figured I shouldn't bother with my average there and just chill... haha.
      Honestly, it wouldn't be a fair comparison too because they were on different set ups (Gearing, tyres, position etc.), but I'm sure there are some folks within the 3Sixty/Pikes community that has nice set ups that are the "pocket rocket" category! So yeah, not really brand dependent but more the set ups. :D

      Hi, thanks for dropping by. I assume you mean to have baggage mounted on it for travel? If so, I think it's fine depending on how light you'd be travelling. I used to do it only with 1 huge saddle bag for my clothes. Whereas for this (or any trifold bike designs) I'd have the option to add 1 bag at the front mount and another 1 at the rear rack. But question is, whether we'd like to be riding with 3 big bags... 😁

    Rather then spent 1k on this stock then another 1k for all the upgrades (let’s not kid ourselves, you sure go for shimano grpset)
    Why not straight go aceoffix frame, shimano grpset, forget the trash plastic pedals, straight teleport ur 3sixty pedals back on. Down the road u can complete the upgrade with a final Ti fork and rear triangle.

      Jokes aside, I did consider this route too because of the dimensions of the frame, super well suited for Ti upgrades for some weight loss in future.
