Well, I guess the main market was focused overseas where they emphasis more on looks. The oil slick crank or any cranks that we intend to change will always be shown. I love the parts and of course when compared to Brompton and clones, this is more original.
Following you for more updates on this bike. I'm very concerned about budget aluminum bikes but I like how they beefed up the front forks to try and make up for the fact they're using a much weaker material than the vintage bikes you're talking about. The reason you see steel bikes from the 1930s that are still fully functional is because the strength of the tubing you're taking about, that's been flattened out into a little Fork for the axle is much more resilient than similar aluminum. They (aluminum forks) need all that additional bracing for added structure to keep from kinking over at the first imperfection in the pavement 😅
I'm miles deep in the rabbit hole of finding an affordable trifold bike, this one seems great! I also came across Mint trifold, they also have disc brakes and look lovely. You might be interested to look into them too!
I'm going to check out mint as well. I bit the bullet after a year of shopping off and on and just committed to Brompton. I like it but I have no interest in buying a second one although it would be really nice to have a second trifold bike for when friends come to visit. I live in the US but I'm trying to figure out how affordable it could be to get a Camp Royale from Mobot. They seem to be on par with Brompton from everything I've seen and much more affordable in their respective markets over in Singapore and that region. I'm not sure what shipping would cost though 😬🤑
@@NoZenith The mint is still a lot cheaper than the mobot royale, but yeah, the royale also looks good. I think theres no way than just to swallow the shipping fees. I could find shipping for $150 from singapore to Netherlands. A lot, but still way cheaper than getting a brompton
@@KokoroKompass yes! The known support and aftermarket parts that work on the Brompton so I don't have to do my own trial-and-error is why I ended up getting one. There's so much information, videos and instructions on how to upgrade or change out stuff for the future. I hadn't seen a good review on the mint and forgot about it. One reason I was looking at the Clones is because for the most part they look like all of those upgrades and modifications for the Brompton would work on them. Yeah that kind of money for shipping handling is lot but not bad if you are getting a bike for half the price... for the most part it gets within a couple hundred dollars of a Brompton so why not go for the O.G.? 😆 but I'm still looking incase anybody else wants a trifold bike to ride with me
Great. Makes me wish I had maybe gotten this one rather than the Avro Afluen. The design seems very thoughtful and aluminum alloy frame is a plus. But, its interesting to see the trifold is also 13 kg when I looked online, similar to the others with chromoly steel. Maybe it’s due to the sturdier construction and thicker tubing?
Probably due to thicker frame, Disc Brakes and Internal Hub drive. Thing I will remove to reduce unnecessary weights are mudguards and EZ wheels Rack (if it still can hold with 3 points contact. There is other brand with 3 points contact). And replace lighter BB.
But I must say like the materials ,gears n workmanship of the beautiful bike….like I say only the folding ,chainring should be inside rather than exposed unlike 3sixty, Brompton or even lite pro.
Interesting review. Are you still using this bike? Awaiting for your next update. Seems a lot of area can be improved. Overall I think its a value for money bike. Just wonder if the easy wheels are removed, which are the contact points on the round? Can it still move with 3 points contact? Keen to know your modification with this bike.
Decided to get this trifold 5d after watching your channel. However shifting to lower gear is pretty hard, is it normal? Any recommendation where to service cos seller doesn’t do servicing. Also find the steering too loose, can it be tightened.
i buy the 7 speed version just few month before this version released. tbh, the his disc brake version are better, since no other triple folding bike has disc brake before. (i know there is pacific toxic 3.0)
All I can say is the 7 Speed is slightly heavier due to the internal hub construction. Other than that, all the same except the brakes. 5D is disc brakes while 7S is caliper.
yes. I have since changed to spring type. Do remember to like and subscribe and press the Bell to receive updates. I will be showing how I installed the after market spring. Thanks.
Hi, great video about the bike. Does your Sturmey Archer wheel hub make any noise? Mine is quite noisy (not the clicking sound), the bike shop said it is normal which I don't think so.
yup. Mine also have it. Try adjusting the shifter. I noticed if the markings on the hub is not aligned, when you pedal, there will be knocking sound. I will be doing a video on this soon. Stay tuned. Cheers.
12.5 kg He mentioned this in a response on the other review, it's as heavy OR HEAVIER than the steel clones/ Standard Bromton (most popular Brompton is under 12kg, with a similar aftermarket rack to this (h&h aluminum Q rack) is 143g fully kitted would weigh less). THIS bike is all aluminum and aluminum must be made much thicker to be anywhere near as structurally sound as the chromolly steel the Brompton is made from. Look how BEEFED UP THE FORKS have to be on this to be able to do the same thing the vintage bikes he's talking about can do! He points this out as a positive but it shows the potential weakness of the aluminum of a budget clone like this. I shopped for a year and this is about the best looking clone other than possibly Camp Royale... I settled on buying a Brompton and it's soooo smooth. 3sixty seems to have unreliable weld quality, litepro comes out of the box with rust on it and very little info/ reviews (I was really trying to get one of those because they have so many available parts) and things like pedals that you'd want to spend money to upgrade immediately 😒 I'm going to keep following this bike though because it does look like they worked at beefing up weak points but I'm not sure I would want to make a long-term investment on something like this with that single bar and nothing but those aluminum welds holding it together as they're more prone to failure than a similar steel product. As a secondary bike I am still very curious about this though. Food For Thought, good luck in your search but if you're a weight weenie, this isn't going to be the bike for you 😄
I noticed the way the handle stem being swing downward when you fold… means you cannot have the bag attached to the front block coz it will get in the way. Now I understand why Brompton, 3sixty, Pikes, WeekEight all have the main frame folded to the right so the handle stem can swing outwards without removing the bag. This is a dealbreaker … I think your Litepro tri-fold is better
Awesome video. Great to find a video that speaks english and also hope to see more of such quality videos being produced. 👍👍
Thank you. Hope you are now more informed about this bike. Do Like and Subscribe.
Thanks for the review. Trifold won me over. Just tje sturmy Archer itself is cool
Yes. I also like the aluminum alloy frame. No worries when comes to washing it.
Good review and beautiful bike. I love the disc brake, but the exposed chains when folded is a deal breaker for me..

I 1st time see this brand, but it looks good. especially the neck with the click lock and the hidden wire.
Cheers bro, I bought the same bicycle too! Arriving today :D
Cheers
How are you liking it?
Nice review. One question on the drivetrain. Does it require the rider to stop pedaling before shifting the gears like Brompton?
Bro think no need, as it is using internal hub gear -Shimano cassette gear set.
Where can I buy this bike? I live in México

Totally agree.

Yes the disc brake is good. Brakes well.

Hi hows the bike going up hill?
As good as your legs and lungs brings you. With 5 speed, definitely better than the clones. Easier to maintain too.
Hi which gear to use for uphills ? Thanks
Hi thanks for the comment.Dont forget to like and subscribe too. For up hills, trifold 5d the 4 and 5 gear is for up hills.

Do you often leave the bag on when folded? idk, not a trifold user currently. Just curious.
Why can’t the approximate price of this bike cost. All reviewers should note this as price difference is a major consideration for most people
Can’t believe nowadays still using old skool BB. Pls replace the BB to cups type and crank set. Also makes your bike lighter. 😀
Thank for the suggestion. might consider changing to hollowtech for a future video and stay tuned and do remember to like and subscribe.
@@showcasekingchannel6012 by the way. Where u purchase your this bike? I like to order one too. Tks
The problem is the spare parts
It will be so hard to find.
From what I can see .. it uses standard 3rd party components. I don't see how the parts will be hard to find.
No good….the when folded the chainring n crank arm is exposed outside, potential dirty chain n paddle hit to your legs when moving about.
Thanks for dropping by! Yes, I do agree with you.
