It was AMAZEBALLS. Madonna and Roseanne and Mike, many compared it to Judy Garland, a young Barbra and Ethel Merman in ‘63 on JG’s show!!!!!! It was just as iconic!!
@@srobindittrich6599 👍🏻the best part was that they were not aware that Barbra was even there, so their surprise was REAL. Yes, Madonna was truly hilarious😂
Yes! You are so right! Today’s version is total crap! They are not funny at all. It’s time to gut this pathetic cast and redo the show. It happens every few years, and now it’s time to pull the plug on this current crop of “funny people”.
Kudos to them for remembering the sketches that actually had Paul Baldwin, before he got sphielkus in his genectigazoink. (And yes, I know I probably misspelled both of those words)
I’m a Madonna fan so I’m biased, but I think she’s a great actor in the right circumstances. Most of her movies aren’t amazing, even though I like them, but she’s hilarious here. I think the word is “kurveh” which is a Yiddish term for “sl*t!” However she EGREGIOUSLY mispronounced it, so for years I thought the word was “Korva!”
Where is the part where she asks: Was the bombing of Hiroshima to end to war or to scare the Solviets? Discuss. Which interview was that? Discuss it I Shall. In my upcoming segment, Tea Time Talk on Tuesdays.
This is definitely not "every Coffee Talk ever." There were more of the Paul Baldwin sketches, for sure, but they only included one here (they're not in Part 2 either).
@@KairuHakubi I suppose I am! I distinctly remember one where Paul had a caller talking in a Boston accent, and Paul interrupts, telling him "This is Coffee Talk -- I think you're looking for Boston Talk. That's on Tuesdays."

Barbra Streisand’s surprise visit remains one of my all-time favorite SNL moments
ICONIC 🙌🏾
The best!
Only SNL could have Madonna AND Rosanne acting together in the same sketch. I remember watching that cold opening when it originally aired.

The fact that I still say “discuss” in this fashion to this day speaks to the level of iconic that this skit carries.
Thanks for showing the original one. Didn’t know about that Paul character before Linda. Poor Delta Burke. She can’t even manage a New York accent.
Tons of actors have way less talent and way bigger careers than Ms Burke.
Funny how nepo works. LOL

Have to say Madonna was really funny in this sketch. She was also terrific in "A League of Their Own"
I had no idea the original host was a male character. I guess Mike decided that a woman would be funnier.
The impression was of his former mother-in-law, from his first marriage. Her name is Linda Richman.
He also made the female version livelier and more expressive. I think it would've worked just as well or better if he did it the same as a man.
I always figured it was just so he/she could say "Pool Booldwin."
