My dad told me that his mother (my grandmother) would get so angry with him every time he watched it, because she thought it was sick and vial. And even funnier (yet very sweet) is that he and my mom would be on the phone while watching it together.

I’ve noticed that SNL goes through dry spells when a lot of the greats move on to other things and it takes awhile to reassemble an awesome cast
Telah SNL started in 1975 and according the funny news date by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler with a very funny assist by Jane Curtain, that one of the original Producers showed up for the SNL reunion - Cocaine. I agree that the original SNL was always funny, but before SNL there was nothing like that on TV, and more interestingly the guys were always super high on there "producer" it is amazing that they always had funny ideas, because one would think that such a high chemical imbalance would make it harder to distinguish between funny and ho-hum. But maybe that is why Lorne over saw every aspect, and when he left for a short while everything went down hill, till his return, and ever then it was a bumpy ride to rejuvenate the show.
Old? This isn't even ten years old and the show has been on the air for longer than some of us have been alive. Where does old stop and new start?

I have family thats been on this show. 2 actually and the part they both said that it takes every muscle in body and complete concentration to keep a straight face and not laugh while performoling.. Part of this genious is that its live. What a great decision to make this in real time. But u can see john goodman trying not to laugh at church lady. He almost cracks a few times lol haha . i miss these times when the talent was so off the chart at snlv .. God bless mr Hartman.. Trully missed .. AloHa
