I make something pretty close to this, Nisha. I add cauliflower florettes, sliced carrots, diamond-chopped red capsicum and cubed potatoes, and sometimes shredded baby spinach. You know, to bulk it up "a bit"! Scrummy-umptious all on it's own, or with rice, chappattis, parottas, naans, even thosais! Sooo versatile, and oh sooo good!
This is one fantastic recipe! I’ve made it twice in two weeks. It’s delicious. The depth of flavors is a true delight. Make it as written. You won’t be disappointed.
Wow, this Chickpea Curry recipe is a game-changer! The combination of spices is just perfect, and the chickpeas were so tender. Thank you for making it so simplified and healthier.
Our family recipe includes sesame seeds in the spice blend and I thought ours was the only one until I saw you added tahini. Shows that adding new ingredients doesn't deviate from the original 👍
Indian cuisine is the easiest to explore for anyone trying to go vegetarian or vegan. You'll find infinite authentic recepies and make them as they are with little to no replacements of ingredients (diary products). And you don't feel vegan or like you are eating anything less than a regular meal and skipping out on anything tasty. A lot of the indian cultures are Vegetarian or vegan. So it's a big part of our cuisine and it's developed through ages with all kinds of recipes new and old.
This. Looks. Fantastic. And I feel you on the peppers. I made some home made penne alla vodka earlier today and rubbed my eye even after I washed my hands. I use chili peppers in my sauce. Left eye still has a slight burn lol
I fuckin love this meal tbh. This and chili sin carne are my go-to meal preps. Beans in a stew on rice is a worldwide affordable nutritious meal, I love that shit
Made this recently and was blown away. One of the best meals I ever had. Coincidentally, I will cook it tonight again :) . Thank you for your amazing recipes, Nisha! (Oh, and yesterday I had your livornese bean stew, so delicious as well!)
Advice as an indian: *don't use garam masala at last* . Not only it will heat your body and increase acidity in your stomach, you won't even get as much of it's flavour as you will if you had mixed and fried it in the beginning with other base spices and veggies like here with onions. Garam masala, as the name says ("Garam" in Hindi means "Hot") heats up the body with its spicy and mixed flavour made from the mixture of 36 kinds of different hot spices. Frying it with other aromatics will mix it's rich flavour with the food well and will become easy to digest as well for your body. ❤
Here in india, we don't use whole spices in a majority of dishes because they aren't actually edible. They are hard and bitter and can completely ruin your eating experience or get stuck between your teeth. We buy prepackaged ground masala mix only for a selective few dishes. Most of the times we just grind our own
That looks amazing. similar to some of the best curries I've thrown together when I didn't have much in the way of ready made food but a can of chickpeas and coconut milk in the pantry.
Honestly, the final presentation of your dishes looks delicious, but when I look at your recipes there are so many ingredients and it just seems so complicated to make that I just give up already.
Not non-traditional. We make this curry in my region. But instead of coconut milk we grind the grated coconut after roasting with some spices and then add the whole thing to chick pea .
We use hing (AKA asafoetida) instead of garlic powder, and fennel bulb to replace the onions. The anise-like aroma of the fennel beautifully complements the earthy curry spices!
You could do a healthy food truck, random thought, i always have a burlap sack of royal basmati in the house, this is convenient and delicious thanks, something i can do with the cans i have besides hummus, love it thank you🎉

For vegan recipe you can.
@@NoRiceToEatthere's no milk at all in chole though so you don't need to substitute milk
