    Just bought a 2023 model a month ago, $43090 drive away for the Ultimate shorty. I did not miss out much on this 2024 version, mine has leather, manual seats, same head unit (crap) same instrument panel, no sun roof, that’s about it really. Very happy with it and so is the wife, much better than the Triton we had.

      I find it hard to believe this is better then any Triton ever made 🤣 I’ve sat inside of these and wasn’t even surprised on shite the quality is, it’ll look “new” for a few months but it’ll age and degrade in quality very quick, not to mention the looks is hideous, makes the GWM look a million bucks (and yet I dislike the GWM) I’d have to rate the 3 lowest utes as
      1. Triton
      2. Canon
      3. Musso
      I’d place the Tata 3rd but they don’t even make a Ute anymore

    • @MrSwaggie1
      @MrSwaggie1 Год назад +2

      When mine gets to be a “few months old” I will let you know how it’s doing. Looks better than the MR Triton and the Canon, but looks are subjective, each to their own. Media system is crap with no navigation or DAB+ but then I use my phone anyway.

    • @TurtleWurdle
      @TurtleWurdle Год назад

      @@MrSwaggie1 I’m talking interior quality and looks, it’ll get quite bad the marks you’ll inevitably make on the doors will looks awful on the cheaper plastic, the interior will be outdated very quickly, as most utes do.
      In terms of looks I’m sorry but both Triton and Cannon are hundreds of miles ahead of the Musso, there is no way anyone can say the Musso looks good at all, doesn’t even look like a ute, looks like a quirky 2000s wagon they chopped the roof off.

    • @MrSwaggie1
      @MrSwaggie1 Год назад +1

      @@TurtleWurdlehave you ever owned a Musso, Cannon or Triton? Or are you just a keyboard warrior spouting rubbish. I have owned a MQ Triton and in standard form it’s no great Ute. Have you read Product Review with all the bad reviews that GWM get on their Ute and after sales service. The Musso/SsangYong get much better reviews. Every make has problems with their quality control. I am happy with what I got, let’s leave it at that. Each to their own choice.

How comes it is being sold? I am not a GWM canon fan, but I would buy a GWM ute over musso actually, TOD in GWM, yeah, I agree the 2.2 diesel in musso is a good one.

It’s far better than the Chinese brands in build quality. I looked at GWM and LDV and neither impressed me as much. This is a quality, well built vehicle and as the chap said, perhaps all the usual suspects at Ford, GM, Toyota etc are having a laugh at our expense.

    I'm currently looking to buy a new ute and I really like the look of this ute, however a quick read of the owners Facebook site reveals a different perspective with too many owners complaining about repetitive serious issues, such as vibrations at 80km/h plus which dealerships seem unable to resolve. There are also many concerns about poor parts supply and the long wait time for some parts which are not held in stock in Australia which can take months to obtain. Other owners are stating that the 7 year warranty has very limited value and is conditional against very expensive dealership servicing. That Ssangyong Australia is not honoring many warranty claims against known repetitive issues and even passing the buck to customers. Also that Ssangyong Australia refuses to communicate to customers with issues.
    As I say, I like the look of the Musso, but until these basic issues are resolved I'm not prepared to gamble...shame!!

    • @sugarnads
      @sugarnads Год назад +1

      Legally theyre fucked if theyre refusing warranty if its nit serviced at a dealer.

    • @andiharper4498
      @andiharper4498 Год назад

      @@sugarnads It would appear not. It seems Ssangyong Australia firstly wont engage with the complaining customer, dealers refute any liability (passing the customer to Ssangyong Australia) who basically adopt a position of 'do your worst'. The customer is left with the prospect of exhausting all avenues and costly legal action against a multi national vehicle manufacturer for years whilst left with a faulty Musso.
      The warranty is only as good as the company being prepared to honour it, and its interpretation of a fault, no matter how many times different customers complain about the same fault.
      Some of the comments on the Owners Facebook even suggest the dealers are unhappy with Ssangyong.
      With regards to the vibration issues at speed, it appears Ssangyong have no solution, so even if they wanted to fix the problem with an expensive product recall, it would be pointless.

      @SirBigzalot Год назад +2

      I’m on the page. Not that many serious issues to report. Test drive it before delivery. It’s very reliable, much more so than the ranger.

Contacted SSY Australia via email. got a reply the next day telling us the dealership would be in contact with us. Got a call from the dealership and it booked in that week and the problem was fixed. The dealership then had to contact SSY to let them know it was fixed. Then we got an email from SSY asking us if it was corrected. I don't take anything on facebook at face value.

    Ssangyong, ssangOLd?
    Anyway, that rear coil suspension, that's great. Hopefully it'll "inspire" / motivate Toyota for their next gen HILUX's rear suspension.
    New Triton already come, with the same old clunky leaves in the rear, so no hope there.
    Toyota next, please, new Tacoma has coils in the back.., just rebadge Tacoma as the next gen HILUX, please..
    Okay maybe not that simple. Tacoma's wheelbase is too damn long. I don't like that.

    Can you go somewhere different than Flinders you're wearing out that same patch of grass, chinese Ute's superior to this in the throwaway category but hilux is king easily 700,000 kms if serviced properly, these throwaways 5 years then gently place in the dumpster and god help you if you need to replace a fender or something month's off the road, spares virtually non existent, Toyota have spares at 7-11
