  • I have been using the Odyssey BMX Gyro on my Commencal Absolut for about 6 months. It has held up, works well, and I feel confident in sharing the modifications I made so that anyone else with an Absolute Frame who wants a BMX Gyro can install one. The main problem I ran into was the Gyro tabs on the Absolute frame were drilled too low for normal Odyssey Gyro cables to reach. Most people I've seen ignore the mounts on the frame and just use a spacer with the tabs built in like that of the Title system. However for a little over 3 dollars you can buy cable knarps and with a little extra time you can still use the pre-drilled frame mounts and a regular BMX gyro.

Awesome! You should look into the Odyssey "London Mod" for the lower cable. It lets you run two cables, and maybe there are some options to run that to the rear caliper. Another nifty part you may find useful is the "Porkchop Brake Cable Splitter".

    Great info!
Hey, I'm modifying a khe bikes affix type gyro.
What I want to ask, do these kbarps hold well? Im thinking of using the cableend inside the feame and using a knarp to attach the cable to the brake lever. Wonder if it will be sketch or usable.
    Thanks
