It is Rammstein story of Frankenstein's monster.
The melody comes almost entirely from Richard. Richard had a very strained relationship with his mother after she started living with a new man.
He ran away from home frequently and also moved out early.

The song is talking about experimental pregnancies and cloned babies..
Most of Rammstein's members had a difficult relationship with their mother, especially Till and Richard
Its a sad poem about mother's absence.

Rammstein band members are still the same, since they started almost 30 years ago. They had some troubles and almost split up several times, but they managed to get along with each other. I loved them since i heard their first song "rammstein" in the mid nineties. It was so bizarre, which i think is the word that discribes them the most. They are dark, serious, funny, hard and soft at the same time, what makes them unique. And they have always been like that till today. Thank you guys for your reactions, i love them.

If you don't have a sense of poetry, then of course the lyrics are funny. Otherwise it's pretty easy to find out that it's the complete opposite of funny.
The song revolves around clone babies and the consequences for their mental health of having grown up without mother and love. Grown in a test tube, the first months of life on hoses and machines.
By the way, this is not science fiction either. A sheep has already been successfully cloned. It was called Dolly. It was born on July 5, 1996.
The only thing that still prevents scientists from cloning humans are laws.

Another great reaction and song! It's always nice to see good people enjoying good music. Seemann is a great song as well. It seems simple musically but Till's vocals are fantastic and almost reminds me of a lullaby. Wolfman if you appreciate bands that utilize keyboards you should check out Type'O Negative. The singer has a deep, rich, voice kind of like Till in some ways. Might start with "Love You to Death" The lyrical content is great. The singer(Peter Steele) unfortunately passed away years ago but he had a dark, but witty sense of humor that was often reflected in the songs.

as you mentioned the son - you are also nice and adorable people. Please don't make up too much about one comment of Flake about Kraftwerk. Most important, and for Americans not so present, because of non existing in your history - Rammstein are from East-Germany, their aproach to western society and what so ever came after 1989, when they were already grown up. Kraftwerk is part of so called Kraut Rock: if unknown, maybe check up some Kraftwerk, Neu!, Can etc. to see the influence they had on modern (contemporary) music - this is also maybe the reason of your assumption, that there is a connection between Rammstein and Kraftwerk in music: repetitiveness and anti-mannerism (google translate) - Kraut Rock stigma...

The text is not about Till Lindemann's mother. He wrote the lyrics from the point of view of a cloned human. "No breast has cried milk" means he had no mother's breast to drink. The Rammstein members are all over 50 years old. Till will be 60 next year and the two guitarists aren't much younger either. The youngest is the bassist. Flake is the comedic counterpart of Till. He's skinny and clad in silly glittery clothes. In addition to all the testosterone on stage, they wanted to have a funny member in the band to see the whole thing a bit iuronic. Rammstein always plays in the same cast.

The text stands in a direct temporal connection, to the first cloned mammal, the sheep Dolly and what concerning the evolution of humans in mental experiments, in which it no longer needs sexes, in the media of scientists and ideologists in the context of ethical questions was colported.
The sheep Dolly was not given a long life and there was a great Canadian series" Orphan Black" on this subject. Today, however, this is no longer an issue in the media and in people's minds. Personally, I am convinced that if it was possible to clone sheep, then somewhere on this planet, some unfortunate scientist has already done it.
As far as the personal reappraisal of childhood experiences of Richard or Tim with their mothers is concerned, at least the text gives nothing in this direction, neither coded nor as a metaphor. The only contextual content here would be the word mother.

The tears of an aged bevy of children
I string them onto a white hair (privilege of elders)
Throw in the air that wet string (hair with tears)
me wishing that I 'ld have a mother
No sun that shines for me
No breast was weeping milk (for me)
In my throat is sticking a tube
Don't have a navel on my baunch
    Mother...Mother...
The following lyrics reveal that this might not be a real mother, whom he wanted to present with a dis-ease. Yet the reference of the following relative clause remained uncertain, whether he wanted to dump that mother thing or that disease into the fluss aka fluent aka corrente aka river. As both nomen are female in German, so the dumping could relate on both.
I need to think of "in-vitro" tissue culture following artificial insemination. So this mother might be scientists, reproducing some clones or else in secrecy. On the other side Till, who is responsible for all poetry (the other guys are composing the music) wishes to have a real mother, providing him with the necessities that remained unaccomplished.

    • @MacZussie
      @MacZussie 2 года назад

At the same time the song could also deal with abortive things as that child, like many others, might have never been born. In its spiritual realm the child is back in now, it is still upset about his failed creation.
