It's the British that brought Indians there in the 1st place. Mauritius citizens are of Indian origin.

That territory is totally British. Nobody there when Britain discovered and occupied it.

There was nothing to discover! It’s not penicillin. The island is clearly within the geographical and territorial regions of Mauritius!

@@G_707 You don't get it. Mauritius itself is totally British. If Britain wanted it could have kept it for itself. The British were the first there and brought in the ancestors of those there in now; namely the Indians and the Africans.
Let me remind you that France has not been able to retake Guernsey back from Britain after centuries. Neither Spain retaken Gibraltar back from Britain after centuries. Nor Argentina the falkland islands.
What's more India is occupied with Pakistan and China that are holding Indian ancestral territories and India can't get them back and it wants to help Mauritius get a territory that has never been Mauritius'. Lol.

Sorry but according to official report it was visited by Arab fist naming it Dina Arobin, then Portuguese sailors ,then after Dutch sailors claimed it and named it Mauritius to respect of Dutch ruler by that time Maurice Van Nassau, they left after sustaining numerous cyclones hitting the island.then french took possession of the island, then came British who took over the french in 1810,but before that french were already present their with slaves from Mozambique ,Malagasy and others, after that British took over all territories from Mauritius including “chaggos islands” amongs others.but with respect it was never discovered by British as you mentioned, thus history takes over when the islanders of chaggos were forcibly taken off (look for further info regarding that issue how they were starved and expelled to the main island leaving all they had back there and sail directly to the main land in 1960’s ) so the question of British discovery is not on the table .my regards to chaggossians still fighting for their right to be back to their island,my apologies if I upset you but that the story briefly about the chaggos, regards

@@techcrackerz7477Today, the rulers and majority of the people in or of Mauritius are Indians. They are not native nor were they among the 1st brought to the island by Europeans yet they control and own alone the totality of the island at the expense of other citizens originally from Africa. I have been on hollidays to Mauritius. The level of discrimination and racism against descendants of people from Africa is worse than the caste system in India. It unparalleled in the world except maybe in Argentina. If you doubt me, go there or check this out online including RUclips.

@@techcrackerz7477 The British populated the island with Indians. Not the French or any other country. And Indians own and rule that where they are not native. It's like Argentinans claiming the falkland islands on the ground of proximity when historically the falkland islands have never belonged to Argentina.
