Legally the words have to be changed...the song altered by a specific percentage for copyright reasons. This happens anytime an artist covers a song that holds a copyright, whether performing the song once at a live show, in a studio, on a social media platform, if it is not for profit, and for dedication purposes. Chris Cornell's "wife" ,unfortunately, owns the copyright to the song, hence, if they wanted to cover the song 100% authentically, they would have to be granted a mechanical liscence...which I do not know if she would grant.
The cover is much appreciated. It truly shows how many musicians were fans and/or friends with Chris Cornell. The magnitude of covers also makes apparent how missed he is, and always will be Again, much respect for the multiple dedications these artists have collaborated on. This happens to be one of few that are tolerable.

I went through some hard times mentally and emotionally about 10yrs ago and Seether/ Shaun helped me get through suside/depression 😔 and
I found hope through Seether I love Shaun Morgan so much I even named my son Shaun that's how much I needed saving from my self.
