Firstly, I would get at least one track on all of the platforms with no promotion. The reason for this is that getting your Spotify for Artists set up when you have no previous releases is a real pain, it is possible, but it makes things a lot easier for you to submit your track to editorials. Then, it really depends on your style of music and what it fits well with, PR is about building your CV and credibility as an artists, it won't convert to a huge amount of streams or exposure. regarding DISTROKID. Not entirely true about the payouts. ALL 4 of the writers MUST be members and be signed up at $20/ yr for ALL of them to get their payouts. Indie Advance for example will payout everyone as well, BUT, only ONE of them has to be singed up (as long as that ONE puts in the co-writer splits.)
Let’s say a singer only wants to upload his music (music video) to RUclips. If they don’t want to use a Distrubutor and want to upload directly to their RUclips channel will registering on copyright.gov first be enough? That way if they see it on other channels they can monetize it and do copyright claims! Thanks !
No, copyright .gov is for being abeg to sue people for copyright infringements like illegal use of your music, unlicensed sampling, et all. What you need to do if you're only uploading to RUclips is register with a service like songtrust that provide RUclips content ID service for people who aren't on the RUclips partner program with access to the CMS (content management system). Registering with songtrust will help you claim or takedown unauthorised use of your music.
@@joey8033 makes sense appreciate it, basically once you register through songtrust I’m assuming they let you know whether you want to have videos on other channels removed or monetized and take a cut ?

Hi! We have been trying to distribute meditation content to Spotify (as artists) but they all reject the content for not being "music". Do you know any distributor that specializes in these kind of content? Thanks for the help!
Routenote
Very insightful video. Thank you!
regarding DISTROKID.
The best is the orchard because it belongs to soni music, the mother of all distributors.
Can you invite me on orchard music
Thank you for sharing 🙏❤️
@Burstimo Can these distributors be used by Dancehall artiste for dancehall music?

I've been sending you guys (Burstimo) messages but still no reply. Distrokid is a lame bore, after 7 years, I dropped them and moved onto ONErpm.
The answer is neither make your own music on RUclips don’t be an idiot and sign.
Great video! Greeting from Dom. Rep. Please, make a new video talking about The Orchard Distributor application process for a new indie record label but before talk about the benefits of working and distributing with them. thank you! Excellent info.
DONE.
'The idea of buying CDs is gone'. Riiiiight. As far as I know, CDs abound on merch tables on tour and in shops and on platforms like BC not to mention usual retail portals they are everywhere. As if CDs, vinyl etc is 'old'. And as if streaming's new ha ha.
ofc those who do that are famous already, we're young artist can't do the old one.
Distrokid is now taking almost 30% of your profits, and they are now kinda shady for me. I am personally changing from Distrokid to Emubands
how is that possible if they all about the yearly fee thing only.
I use tunecore and you guys said nothing about them.
They're not one of Spotify's preferred distributors but we've worked with them before and they're great
Hi do tunecore still uploads your songs in spotify ?
The Orchard Is Best
Do they keep your rights if u sign if you write the songs. Hope not
Hello brother can you invite me on orchard

thanks bro
Amuse is the best music distribution company
Haven't heard too much about them, would love to hear more?
@@Burstimo Amuse ? it's free...so you get what you get.
They stopped releasing my music everywhere, never at the date I asked and it's a pain to get a reply from their team.
Bg Jimy definitely get what you pay for. Tried them once and I'll be holding off until they get there stuff together.

Cool video bro. But Distrokid no longer do content id on youtube for Electronic music, EDM or Hip Hop. That is a lot of money off the table.
There are many vendors that offer RUclips Content ID service, such as Audiam, Orfium or Airbit. (www.millennialmind.co/top-youtube-content-id-partner-platforms/)
Thanks man! Was able to release 4 songs on Spotify! If y'all are interested They are also on my channel!
