One thing I just want to make absolutely clear is that you can do this process with any distributor, it doesn't have to be just AWAL and Distrokid. I hope this video helps you make the change safely and without losing any placements or streams!
Quick question . Once I transfer the song from distrokid to tunecore all the same , it’s been a week and it’s live. Both are . It’s a big song . Million streams . Can I now delete the distrokid one ? And I won’t loose my money and all ? Is it safe now? Lol
Man thank you for not giving up! Your contribution to the industry is enormous! this information is critical for those who need to be liberated in controlling their music. NO one should treat anyone like DK did you and you are the factor that they did not count on Bless up brother!
I was just watching your banned from DK video, I was curious how you carried your music over to another distributor. And 8 hrs ago you uploaded this lol thanks
Hi Ryan, I've watched a lot of your videos just now, but I haven't found one that addresses a question I had. How to start a record label? Should you start an independent label?? How did you establish yours? See, I produce music independently and I was trying to figure out if there is a legal /business benefit of establishing my own label? Should I?? I've found information that suggests that it is a good idea to create your own Label for tax and business purposes. I could write off equipment, software, and other tools that I need for producing. I could also sign a contract to myself, just the legally protect my intellectual property. Your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. Thanks for the videos, they've been very insightful and helpful
Hey man! your video was very useful. Appreciate it a lot. Just one thing you didn't mention because I'm not exactly in the same position you were in and I still have access to my music on DK. After I transfer everything safely to another distributor should I removed it from DK once it goes live and the "overlap" has taken place.
Amazing. Thank you for this vid. I've been locked out of my distributed releases from beatstars for almost 2 years now. I can finally get away from them
Thank you so much for the helpful information 🙏 I'm wondering if it's possible to release new tracks with another distributor, but in such way that they are published on my existing profiles on Spotify, Apple Music etc., so another distributor doesn't create another artist card?
thanks sir! im actually thinking of switching to distro cause tunecore is getting too expensive. im droppin a project next year making it add up to 200 a year :(
thank you so much bro making this video. can you tell me which are the main things that need to match and which do not matter? because I am switching Beatstars(scammers) to another distributor but I can find which genre I used etc detail. all I can see whatever my listening can see.
Good video. I have a question. Did you have any problems getting your stream count back on RUclips for your releases? I found that when I moved 2 songs from 1 distributor to another my RUclips stream count reset to 0, but my Spotify and Apple Music stream count transferred over fine.
Hello Ryan, I hope all is well with you & your family. May I ask... After 'transfering' your songs from Distrokid to AWAL, will I be right to say that Distrokid doesn't take a cut from your music anymore (even though they're the ones who initially distributed it)? (Just to be sure) Thank you for your time.
this is amazing. I had questions pertaining to a manager based abroad who owns all rights of the music to be distributing and collecting royalties. Would love any info on that. If not, any reliable lawyers who might help here?
Hi sir Ryan! When the new distributor approves the existing song you must delete or contact support in old distributor to remove your songs from them or it will be automatically removed after it's done?
Regarding your note from 5:20, Im currently moving from Spinnup to Ditto and on Spinnup they say you should do as you say, keep your release live until you have successfully moved and reuploaded your music, meanwhile on Ditto they say that no you should remove your original release before you re upload so it doesnt create duplicates.. Any advice or help on this????
Hey man, really appreciate this my guy, it was very helpful, on my side I just have only one question. Say for example am changing from Distrokid to Ditto music and I had already payed the $19.99 on distrokid and distributed 3 song's, there and now I just decided to switch to Ditto music, do I need to repay the $19.99 on Ditto music so I can be able to move my 3 single's there or it all fall's under the $19.99 I payed on distrokid which mean's when I move, the other distributor consider's the $19.99 I payed on the previous distributor????
Hi, I have distributed my songs with the help of an online distribution service about an year ago. Since they distribute to a limited no of streaming platforms, I want to add the songs to more streaming services with the help of another distributor. Do I have to enter the same ISRC code for those song that was given by my previous distributor or can I ask my new distributor to generate a new ISRC code for me?
Hey, did you have to pay the Legacy fee for each single/Album ever before in DistroKid to be able to transfer your songs & streaming platform accounts to another distributor?
If I had a release a couple years old (I want to do this in the future) would I have go put in the same release date or choose another one? Because the listed release dates are really important to me
Question. If I want to carry my songs over from another distributor but I don't have the audio files is there a way I can transfer the audio files from distributer to distributer still? Or download them exact version online and resubmit them to be the same audio file? Please help 🙏
Thank you so much for making this video. I just have question here: What if there are some mistakes on my previous release such as "release date" & " being marked as explicit while it's not", and I want them to be changed when I upload my song to the new distributor? Should I keep these things THE WRONG WAYS because I have to keep all the information excatly the same as the previous release?
Hello! Thanks for the video. I'm switching my album from Freshtunes to Routenote, and I don't want to lose my apparition on Playlists. Now that my album is already uploaded to all platforms via Routenote, I'm next to delete the old release on the old distributor (Freshtunes). But I have a big problem, I've been looking into my spotify artist profile and I can see that the two releases shares the same stream count and the same data (cause I uploaded it with the same upc and isrc), but I realized that both doesn't share the "saves" (the green spotify heart), because I tried to add a song from the Routenote version to a playlist previously created with the Freshtune version of that song, and spotify doesn't shows the warning message that says something like "element already added, this is already in your playlist, do you want to add it anyway?" So I'm afraid that I'm gonna lose all the playlists where my music appear and all the saves that other people did with their Spotify accounts. Can you help me with this please? Cheers.
Hi there, thanks for the video. But, if you decide to switch your distributor, will you still receive royalties from your new distributor for the songs you've transferred? Just to clarify, if I've already received royalties for June and July but haven't received any for August and September yet, will the new distributor handle royalties for August and September?
Does a full album uploaded to tunecore posses only one UPC number for all songs ? Or each song as its own UPC number? Thanks for the amazing video and valuable help!
Hi is it okay if I didn't get the exact copyright from spotify but made up my own copyright ID like for example: 2020 *my name* ? I did everything with the codes except this one. I just can't seem to find the copyright ID on spotify. Thank you
yo bruv, I distributed my music on Spotify & apple music through ‘Amuse’ (first 3 releases free) now that I've added 3 songs, Im switching to United Masters, but how should I switch the distributers without making a new account?
Thanks for the video! If some of my singles JUST recently renewed on the platform I'd like to use as my old distributor, is it still advisable to make the change now? Or wait until the next year to switch since I've already paid for that song? (Looking to go from Tunecore to Distro). Any advise will be helpful! Thank you!
What if I distribute my music on one of those distribute apps but the thing is I have the same account for each like song app like SoundCloud and Spotify as like distrokid but my question is if I distribute it would it show up as I'm the owner for like SoundCloud and Spotify when the song drops or will it just pop out randomly like who dropped it
I'm thinking about switching over to CD Baby. For the Sound Recordings Copyright, does that mean my track would only stay up on Spotify upon switching distributors?
hi thanks for the video!! if i upload a song to distrokit but then i decide to switch to an other distrobuter, can i use the isrc-code which was generated on distrokit on my new distrobuter, i will delete my song on distrokit and want to use the isrc code from distrokit, i hope you will answer me
thanks great info, so if you still have access to distrokid, do you just delete the release from there after a few days of crossing over to the new distro?
If I switch will it recate a duplicate artist page on all platforms? I basically deleted all my songs from distrokid and all that's left is the artist profiles on platforms. Will I be able to get those back?
Ryan does this work with name change as well ? Im switching over from United masters to distro kid I’m also changing my name from mondo productions to 808 Mondo

Would you be able to switch distributors when it comes to a release that is deemed “Incomplete” in submission process. Ex: I switched from Tunecore to distro kid. My release was never put live, due to some thing not right in the submission process. Tune is actually pretty bad about this. It’s part of why I’m switching. I have the ISRC numbers etc. But the release was never considered live. if I release it on Distro kid would that incomplete get in the way of the process. I need to know this before I resubmit it.
How Do You Get To The Part To Input Track Information, I’m Trying to Switch from Distrokid To United Masters , I’m on United Masters Now but It looks like it wants me to upload the tracks and it’s not giving me the option to edit info on the tracks before hand !?? Please HELP🙏🏽
will this music will be available on both streaming platform or will move to new one......and if on both than what about money ..will it be distributed on streaming platform
I know im a little late to the party, but is there anything that i need to do before "ditching" (in your example) Distrokid? Do i need to delete an old account or anything?
What if I want to collaborate with someone who distributes through distrokid while I use another like tunecore. How can I get my royalties when we use different platforms?
Bro it's good after this video I apply for awal distribution but , I'm banned from distrokid , and my songs and Spotify artist profile hasn't shown up on Spotify what to do now bro need help ! I had crodssed 100k plays on my tracks ,so what should I , should I delete distrokid acoount and try with awal with same ISRC and all? What to do bro please support me ?
hi, thx for video.. Same thing happened to me too a few days ago. The only thing is that I have not been banned but they have deleted all releases, and the payment section (all the months of payments I don't see them anymore). I only see the stats and artists. Hey bro, thanks so much for your very educational videos. I read your PDF and it was very good. However, I'm a producer. Looking at your ISRC search results shows a lot more info than mine. Mine doesn't show UPC codes for any of my music. Do you know why that would be?
so how do i distribute with AWAL?
@@CalifaAzul You can get it from that same Spotify for Developer code you used to see Copyright information. It's down the line under "upc"
Will you keep getting royalties on the new platform??
Quick question . Once I transfer the song from distrokid to tunecore all the same , it’s been a week and it’s live. Both are . It’s a big song . Million streams . Can I now delete the distrokid one ? And I won’t loose my money and all ? Is it safe now? Lol

Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge 👍
Hey! Loved this video, but what about artworks, is it necessary to upload the same artwork? Or UPC and isrc enough?
Amazing. Thank you for this vid. I've been locked out of my distributed releases from beatstars for almost 2 years now. I can finally get away from them

Can we have a review of AWAL?
YES! Here is my new AWAL video: ruclips.net/video/sbDIs3FHQ1o/видео.html

Hello! If I switch the ISRC code when changing another distributor, will my RUclips Topic channel be syncretic?
Thanks Man

No a UPC will be for the overall Album, the ISRC'S are for each track within that album
Any one know how to upload a song to the some Spotify/iTunes account on a different distributor without making a new account
Hi is it okay if I didn't get the exact copyright from spotify but made up my own copyright ID like for example: 2020 *my name* ?
I did everything with the codes except this one. I just can't seem to find the copyright ID on spotify. Thank you

It's an very good idea
Do you have an updated video on how to do this?
yo bruv, I distributed my music on Spotify & apple music through ‘Amuse’ (first 3 releases free) now that I've added 3 songs, Im switching to United Masters, but how should I switch the distributers without making a new account?
Where can I get that beat that was played at the end of the video
Thanks for the video!

Or wait until the next year to switch since I've already paid for that song? (Looking to go from Tunecore to Distro). Any advise will be helpful! Thank you!
I would stay on Tunecore for a year
anyone know if it is possible to do this to go from distrokid to amuse pro?
When I switch distributors, do I have to re release my songs or can I leave them up? (CDBaby to Distrokid)
Even the MetaData should be the same? like if i try to add or correct something, you Mean to tell me it might create an error?
You made a cool video 😎

What should I do if the music has been taken down and you cannot have an overlap?
I have a one question
If I change my distributor will that new one gonna create me a new profile on Spotify or something?
It's an important video.
I am not able to find the songs using my ISRC codes on the ISRC site. What should i do? Can anyone help me with this?
Want to know one thing if I change from tune core will it remove from insta music library , RUclips topic views , insta reels which made on my song.
If I switch will it recate a duplicate artist page on all platforms?
I basically deleted all my songs from distrokid and all that's left is the artist profiles on platforms. Will I be able to get those back?
for other ones they say to delete the songs from stores so its safely moved so im doing that instead.
Ryan does this work with name change as well ? Im switching over from United masters to distro kid I’m also changing my name from mondo productions to 808 Mondo
Hi Ryan, do you know if the following scenario is possible?
1. Switch from distributor A to B.
2. Tell the distributor B to change the name of the track.
Basically, I uploaded a track on distributor A and I wanted the title to be all-lowercase (just like Billie Eilish - bad guy). However, the track was released with standard capitalization (Bad Guy). Do you think a distributor B (like AWAL) could change it? My current distributor told me they cannot change the capitalization rules.
Would you be able to switch distributors when it comes to a release that is deemed “Incomplete” in submission process.

hi, thx for video.. Same thing happened to me too a few days ago. The only thing is that I have not been banned but they have deleted all releases, and the payment section (all the months of payments I don't see them anymore). I only see the stats and artists. I checked I am no longer present on spotify and itunes. But maybe I can upload more music. I wanted to switch to another distributor but on the IFPI site he only writes the ISRCs, I don't have any date or UPC. Some idea? A thousand thanks
Please say me CDbaby have Royalties split option..?
Hey bro, thanks so much for your very educational videos. I read your PDF and it was very good. However, I'm a producer. Can you please make a video for producers alone explaining the type of royalties a producer is entitled to(whether streaming or performance or publishing) and how you collect those royalties and how the splits are made(50/50, etc.) And if a producer is not registered with a publisher like song trust, how does he get those royalties.Or you could simply explain it here. Thanks🙂
Hey Emmanuel. Producer royalties AKA "points" are mostly a thing of the past and are a relic of the old music industry. I wanna move from amuse to distokid does this work for all distributors?
DistroKid has its on UPC code but I have put the same ISRC codes will it still be the same?
Thxx eyy
What kind of music do you make?
Do I delete my artist profile to an old distributor after switching ?
Can i use two distributors at the same time?
