Metal Building Series Episode 17; End Wall Cable Bracing

    As we work through our punch list, we needed to complete the end wall and get the cable bracing up. The challenge was the cables go through the girts so we had to determine the correct location and drill the 1x3 holes. Watch along and see how things went.

    Crazy that all manufacturers don't put holes in the girts for you where bracing intersects. I believe Canadian Metal Buildings are the only ones that do. Installation time would be cut down, that's for sure.

      With exception to the end wall cable bracing, our building had all required holes pre-drilled. Any drilling we did was due to modifications we made to the original plan.

      @@BacktoCountry If girts are flush with outside of rigid frame, manufacturers will not typically pre-punch holes for wind bracing. We are the exception.

    notch it, make a slit
