The plastic on the inside of the windshield, is made for parking. Like you pay for parking in the city, and get a paper proving you payed for a period of time. It's the oldschool way of doing it in Sweden (where Volvos originally are from). Now we park with apps.

The switch from full frame steel cars to molded parts based cars made a huge difference in weight. Volvos are made with boron Steel which is the strongest steel ever used in a car. The plastic parts are all form molded and made with recycled material. They use flax fiber to strengthen and texture the plastic and everything is up to industry standards. Have you even been in a Volvo? They drive beautifully and have more than 400hp while getting 30 miles to the gallon. It's not the kind of car you buy on a whim. It's one you save up for over a couple of years. Maybe 8 grand a year for 5 years. Till you can put a sizeable payment on it.
The XC40/C40 have what Volvo call “Airwoofer” which is a ventilated Sun Woofer mounted inside the dashboard. Volvo say it produces a clear and rich sound as well as eliminating vibrations in the cabin. I’ve driven an XC40, and I must say, you can’t tell the door speakers aren’t there.
So, clip on windshield (that can be bought for like $2 and put on any car), glow in the dark door trim (cool, but how will it look after a year or two), and a hook on the glove box (actually a pretty good idea, except I wouldn't want bags swinging around and hitting the door/seats)
Okay hear me out... My 2006 Citroen C4 has a bass speaker and enough space to put in a whole laptop and more on the door panel. Also the the hook is present. And this guy is telling us all this like it is revolutionary🤯
It also has wheels that you can use to roll your car around to your desired destination. And these handles on the doors ? You can pull on them to unlock the doors

And for 16 bucks more i can use a bt to fm transmitter to pair my phone of choice to the car and use the "hey google" while wireless charging. Or use hey siri if your preference is iphone. And it only costs 45 dollars to fill up(gas price 4.50 currently) and it can go 240 miles on that 10 gallons with two gallons extra to use to get to a pump.
So, in summary: it has less speakers for more space (yet my shitbox golf has more space with a speaker) it has a glowing door part (which may be cool now but may just be a nuisance in a few years) it has android auto (released back in the stone age) And it has a plastic clip on the windshield Wow, I'm sold.
I'm just wondering, why anyone really cares that a $60,000 car comes with modern day pocket purse pouches throughout, a less desirable sound system, and a Navi System that is standard in almost all makes of vehicles, as well as models? Congrats man you have extra pockets that don't come with your pants, a navigation you already had on your phone, but let's speak about that before we speak about how many homeless people could have been sheltered. If you earned that money, and worked hard good for you. It honestly makes me happy to see people have things they worked hard for. In my own opinion, though when you're driving around tonight and you have that extra Pocket space for your phone think about the homeless people who have no space to call home. I worked for a Volvo dealer ship for years and a lot of customers wanted that clip removed

My 95 Volvo 850 T-5R has that clip on the driver side windshield. All 850's had that clip
