In Messmer’s castle, if you go to the golden hippo site of grace, take the path to the right, and then turn right again once you get up the stairs, you will find a ladder. This ladder leads you to that area near the bottom of the map that is still covered up. You WILL be changed by this area…

You got me waiting for vids like anime episodes

& when he uploads a reaction or something else, feels like filler eps waiting for the story 😭
It’s almost religious at this point
For real
Real shit, it's like watching an anime weekly it's pretty fun
“I’m pretty lost” me too Afro.. me too
Bro are you okay? 😭
good luck bro 🙏
Bro same
Bro you good you should talk to someone

I love how afro went through the whole questline and not once notice the chick on the side just sitting on the pillar the whole time who he had to fight in the end!

That’s why I tell my friends “look around after a boss fight, you might miss something, or tell them to explore if you can’t beat a boss on your third or fifth try. Maybe you’ll run into something that’ll help you.”
That place at @11:48 looks like the paths from Attack on Titan lol Afro’s about to fight Eren Yeager !
Ymir. Sounds about right
Also part of a guy named Ymirs questline lol
I actually figured out the whole gesture-statue-of-Marika-hidden-path thing on my first blind playthrough. I was just exploring Bonny Village and found the gesture and thought, "oh cool, new gesture", then I remembered when I fought Gaius there was a message (not a player message but a message put there by the devs) that says something to the effect of, "Have mercy. For the spirited-away shamans."
I forget which item description it was but it talked about the fleshy-jar women being these shamans that the message was referencing, so finding the gesture in Bonny Village, where all of the pots and potentates are, led me back to the statue of Marika and that message. Additionally the gesture is called "O, Mother" which is what Marika is referred to as a lot in game.
You actually made it believable good job
@@snipy5796 Thank you, honestly more than the boss fights, discovering obscure and obtuse things in these games is rewarding and satisfying for me.
@@asterodonHe's saying you're lying in finding it yourself but wrote a good story that backs your "lie" up. I believe you though, nice job.
i did the same thing!
@nero4772 i accidently did it all
i found o mother and then saw messages around the statue with was using that gesture so i did that gesture (i guess thats not really blind but i didnt look up anything for it) and i knew what the bell ringing thingy did so yeah
Afro hasn’t missed this entire marathon
"I'm pretty lost ngl" truer words have never been spoken
"What the fuck is happening, he's gonna eat my ass." So relatable.

By far one of the coolest bosses in-lore. We finally get the origin of the Two Fingers and know more about how the Greater Will operates. Plus, it's a giant boss that actually feels good to fight with no camera jank lmao
It's also very Lovecraftian in a Bloodborne way which is super cool, too
You got a hand fetish
Agreed the boss arena everything's pretty good but not having a cutscene or even being a bit harder for being such an important part of the lore is unfortunate
Love the stellar blade music addition 🤩

Do you happen to know the OST playing at around 6:16?
Fleeting Microcosm is definitely the coolest spell ive come across. That shit looks dope. A black hole basically
Sadly it does 2 damage at least it looks cool tho
@@Sekiro_loverequip Godfrey Icon, that thing deals metric tons of damage when Charged
@@Sekiro_loverit's a great spell for mob clearing and definitely does more than 2 damage (on ng)
One reason I think I enjoyed the DLC so much was that me and my friend were playing it together at the same time, we were around the same spot but different areas, so we told each other about stuff we found and it was such a blast
Having a friend sounds cool
Afro, dont underestimate Milady. That weapons is an S tier and one of the best in DLC. Wing stance plus Heavy attack has one of the biggest damage in the game and WS with light attack staggers even heavy armour knights.
FACTS! and it's so damn fast.
It is a fantastic weapon, underrated but I prefer it that way.
It's such an incredible weapon. It has an amazing moveset, it has good AR for its weight, winged stance is just nasty in both health damage and stance damage while also being super stylish, and on top of all that it's very flexible as it's infusable while also being very good at inflicting status effects as it attacks very quickly both with normal attacks and with the winged stance light attacks.
You want a keen/quality Milady? it works just fine, remember to buff it with you preferred spell (bloodflame blade for the swag factor for me lol)
You want a bleed/frost Milady for status build up? That works perfectly fine too
You want a fire art for a faith build? Sure why not.
It's just such a good weapon, fun to use, while at the same time not being overpowered. Peak FromSoft weapon design.
This quest line gives you one of the coolest weapons in the dlc
That should get you MOTIVATED
perhaps it has night in its name....?
It gives you a staff that combined with impeccable thorns solos the dlc rn
@@ReedlaxeNazula oh thats a different weapon...
Bruh I was dumb and went for the spirit ash
@SloreignGaming get the second half and it solos bosses
I was able to do the quest on my own purely because i explored EVERY inch of the map as i came across it. I had found the first finger ruin by the time i got to manus metyr, and the second i found before i fought gaiuss. I had found the emote in bonny village before i went to the black keep and i just guessed that i had to emote at the statue becaus during messmers fight he says "oh, mother" when he looked at the exact same statue. This is the only dlc that i have been able to do entirety by myself, just because of how rewarding it is to explore every inch of the map.
Same!
In my exploration, i found the route to the finger ruins on my own before i found the cathedral, but I did explore for like 30+ hours in total.
And as far as the statue goes, you can definitely piece it together by reading item descriptions, listening to the little phantom in Bonny village, and a couple other pieces of info scattered around like messages the game itself left, etc.
or by reading messages
He’s cutting it close with these uploads but he made it so Im happy also Afro you’ve saved me with these Elden ring vids I think you deserve a break thank you man
You guys gotta relax fr he drops 10pm everyday have faith and lock in
21:23 that other spirit started running wit u like "BRUH HOLLON WHAT GOIN ON"
The tree sentinel part killed me the reaction was crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Afro, that wasnt Jolan that you fought in the underground. That was Anna. You can actually find a puppet of Anna in a hidden path and if you use the Iris of grace on Jolan, you get her spirit ash. You can combine it with Anna's puppet to get a summon with both of them and their lore. Its crazy good.
As for her armor, you missed it in an early dungeon
Where’s Anna’s puppet and how do you combine them? I got Jolan’s already.
@LilFrankieT it's hidden off to the side near the Shaman village. There's an area you drop down that leads to the upper-most floor of the rise below. Interact with the Anna puppet with Jolan's ash in your inventory, and you have the option to add her to it or even remove her from it after you add her.
@@HagoshaThank you!!

I hope Afro visits the place that was on the left of the tree sentinel, BEST place in the game
The Wing Stance actually has more use in PVE than PVP(duels at least). It is very slow and telegraphed to go into the stance and perform an attack. But for PVE, the stance strong attack can dodge horizontal swings and deals very high stance break damage
Afro’s editing and sound catalog is underrated.
Too bad since you chose the weapon, you can’t finish the quest line all the way to the end and get the (imo better) reward from that.
BRO Good FN Luck with the last boss. I just beat it this morning. Hardest thing I ever did in my gaming career hands down. Coming from someone who platinumed Mortal Shell.
Congratulations

7:38 man's had a cold sweat 😂😂😂😂
The gesture part I did figure it out on my own based on the message left in the room, BUT I didn't have the right gesture, imagine standing in front of that statue doing every single gesture from the base game for nothing to happen, I was so confused, I KNOW this is a spot you have to do a gesture, but what, 7 hours before I beat the DLC, I found the gesture and was like, "I swear if this is it, I'm going to be pissed." And yup it was it, I found Bonny village super early in my playthrough and completely missed the gesture
I NEEDED this bro I can't find any good vids to watch😭
You can also use the wiki on fextralife for all quest guides BTW.
I figured it out on my own, only reason was me exploring every inch and doing the hinterlands last. I found the O mother gesture way earlier but made a photo of the place where i found it because it looked mysterious. The head of the statue where you find the gesture was gone, and so was the one where you have to perform the gesture. So i just did it, and jumped out of my chair when it actually worked. I did the quest later on so knew how to get there
Afro doing bleed damage of 6k-10k is Mickey asf I won't lie. Ppl can make excuses but that's pretty lame considering you pretty much killed this boss in a few hits just cuz of that.
But don’t worry he didn’t use summons so he’s not using a broken build. Fr all the streamers either run bleed or frost builds with 0 variety. Got brand new weapons for them to just put bleed or frost on them or run a shield build
@@Meister2499People are mad weird. As Let me solo her said, play the game, have fun and use your resources.
Unhealthy FromSoftware fans and their weird fetish for artificial punishment is mad weird. The game throws means of conquering your enemies at you. You're a Tarnished meant to wrest power from literal gods and demigods but apparently it's too much to act as a mage using primal sorceries to take your foes down from afar or summon undead fighters to aid you against these monsters when many bosses literally have no qualms doing just that.
@@gemain609 I have no issue with people playing how they want but a streamer looking over at his chat and being like “this is the weapon I NEED?” They just play with the masses and bring no original thought to their own build. That’s what annoys me.
21:05 21:11 😶*puts elbows on desk with hands together*🙏🏿 uhm.... I'm not sure how to feel about a Man that wants to be a mother...

0.15% is just a lie man this was one of the only quests and it is a guaranteed drop
Not many people _did_ the quest
Probably means only 0.15% ppl completed it
It's also not guaranteed if you don't give her the right item
Yeah idk where he pulled that number from
Nothing gets past you huh
i Read messages left by players. Play these type of game long enough to tell the differences on the ones that were helpful and the trolly kinds.
Nah, I've accepted that I'm using a guide on all FromSoft quests. They're so easy to lock yourself out of and the NPC's all say their info in the most esoteric way imaginable. I also don't like constantly having to speak to them and rest at a site of grace to get new dialogue; just tell me everything! Fade to black when they leave like a normal game instead of having me rest at grace; it's the same thing with one less step!!
Messages from other players actually helped me with the gesture in front of the statue, but they can't help with the complicated sequences of events that most quests in the game require lmao
casually watching afro miss the mother of fingers' coolest attacks because he minced her in 3 seconds after a stagger
So whats the 0.15% found weapon though? I like the channel/video tho bro keep at it 💯
Those stellar blade tracks hit! Every single one of em! I like how you put the action version of the songs in when your in combat
Probably will be lost, but the FFXIV music is great touch. Absolute bangers.
Neath Dark Waters is easily best zone music.
Milady has insane stance break even on a lot of bosses
And does good damage why because it pierces through shield and armor
The final boss is very hard to stance break but not impossible
"I couldn't figure out how to get there! So, I decided to go back to the quest over here."
Points to quest that involves going to the two places he can't figure out how to get to 😂
Afro actually got Tensa Zangetsu now 🔥
I would say first but I’m just happy to be here 👁️👄👁️

afro has to try out the dancing blades of ranah!!!! Best weapon for PVP and PVE in my opinion
What’s that music in the intro?
get the Night Armor Set its very good looking
Bro really tried to pretend he didn't know how to get Jolan's sword
I'm playing through the DLC rn (I'm fighting Messmer atm) and I have been trying so hard to not watch videos so that I can go into boss fights and still be surprised by what i see. However, I just cannot refuse watching videos from Jev and Afro as soon as they show up. Jev for his calmness, at least half the time, and then Afro just for chaos.
"I can't tell if he's crazy or normal, and the hand. Im supposed to just accept that?" HAS ME CRYING Cus its so wild that you legit cannot tell if anyone pulling your leg or not
The clock ticks in the transitions between sections in these last few videos make me feel like it's counting down to something. Something bad...
01:29
Wing stance heavy does as much poise damage as impaling thrust, so it can be kinda good in pve too. Got a multi-hit attack for triggering sword insignia and a strong attack that does good stagger.
Like the video itself,And it’s cooking 😊
I hate the fingers in general this boss makes it worse😂
After watching the video Ik what ima grind for that sword looks so sick
The devs was on they’re anime timing with these weapons and armor. Especially the weapons they so hard😂
The FFXIV music goes hard

@@sulisuli35 thank you man
I found the gesture while exploring and when I walked around, I saw the statue with the dev message on the ground and then read player messages and they said like "offer gesture" and did the o'mother gesture. I did that and that's how I found it on my own.
I got it, the weapon weak dab lol.. the other option better you get her and her sister as a summoning they say that it’s the strongest summoning in the game.. weapon looks cool though, gives me captain yami vibes
At 7:11, I actually did figure this out own my own. The only reason I did was because the Marika statue look like it was supposed to move, but there was no lever. So I Literally sat their for like 20 minutes trying to find a way to open it and then I got bored and started looking at my new emotes since I hadn't really looked at them yet. And then I did the "O, Mother" emote and then it started to open and I audibly yelled "HOLY FUCK THAT WORKED?!?!?!?"
Lmao figured everything you said on my own with no walkthroughs or guides... Call me a liar or believe it I literally dont care. I have over 1,000 hrs in elden ring and Ive done 98% of all secrets and encounters on my own. Ive also helped many people find things and beat bosses. Been there since day 1 grinding and figuring out everything in the game. Streamers need to stop with the "click bait" titles ........ if you just play and put in the time you can figure out everything with references and hints here and there throughout the game ... video game streamers used to be awesome .. giving useful information or just fun gameplay but you new "streamers" are just annoying to be honest. All you guys wanna do is make money from subscribers and match other streamers content. so sad. BIG thumbs down
Usually I'm shameless about looking things up if i wanna find em but I found every mapped area of the base game naturally on my first playthrough, I never had to search how to find anything on the map in the base game, yet in the DLC I was STUMPED. I looked up probably 3 total areas not including that damn gesture, maybe more.
The puzzles are pretty clear once you’re familiar with fromsoft. It’s generally safe to assume that ANYTIME you’re given a gesture it’s going to be needed to unlock a secret. As for doing the fingers quest, it’s pretty easy. You just gotta be an OCD corner checker.
I got this without any guides.
Basically every FromSoft game has at least one secret locked behind a gesture, combined with how few new gestures we got in the DLC, it’s not THAT crazy to think people figured it on their own.
IMO, this was way more obvious than how to get to Archdragon Peak in DS3.
6:07 - A bit of both?... He's absolutely right about what he's talking about here, very much like Rogier in the base game he's set up as this intelligent wise man-type of character so that it makes sense to have _a_ voice that can actually reveal significant parts of the story through actual dialogue.
Also. I actually really love that they reused the Tree Sentinels there?... not just to demonstrate to the player how much better they've gotten since the very start of the game, but also, it reveals something very important about a certain village that you may or may not have visited, there at the top of the hill (said village is possibly the single most important location in the entire game, to the story.)
Also also, Afro you should totally check out some of the other videos of folx fighting Metyr. You somehow completely skipped her second phase where all of her cool attacks are, including
> Rotating 20 second orbital laser that fills the entire arena
> The Big Bang
> "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick"
Afro got the real bankai, LFG👍
7:07 Personally speaking, I figured out the statue bit by myself. Found the emote with a message that said something like "Seek Great Enemy", but thought nothing of it really. Then after fighting Gais after a while, I was just looking like you were to try to get to that area but saw a few messages in front of the statue. One of them was doing the emote, so I just looked for what was similar and bam.
Also, anyone else actually figure out most of the quests normally (just to flex on bro lmao)? Having messages can for sure help some times, but you don't really need a guide for everything quest related if you just listen to the people/actually read the items they give you
I figured it KINDA on my own. The first ruin I got to before I got to Ymir in the Cathedral so that was easy. The second part was more difficult and took me couple of hours.
I simply looked the map for a way to get into the second ruin. I tried the shadow keep from the church district, then tried from the "library". Then I went to the place where you do the gesture and read the messages people put there indicating a gesture is needed (that's why it's only "kinda" on my own).
Since there was something written like "have mercy for the spirited-away Shamans" I figured it had something to do with jars since some item descriptions and some spirits hinted that Shamans are something like the core of the jars (that's what I inferred anyway), so I went to Bonny Village and explored there and got the gesture.
So, I did actually figure the statue secret out on my own, but also kind of by accident. I explored a lot throughout the dlc, whenever I could. Basically I picked up the gesture while doing that without knowing what it was for at the time. When I finally reached that "church" I figured the entrance to the last part of the map was through that very room. In that room there is a stone tablet with an inscription on it. The inscription reads like a prayer and since I know FromSoft and their "unorthodox" puzzles I immediately tried the regular prayer emotes from the base game, which obviously didn't work. Then I saw the Oh mother emote in the tab, realized there was a beheaded Marika statue in the room and knew then I needed to use that emote. Had I not picked the emote up by accident tho, I don't think I would've figured it out myself.
I looked next to nothing up for the DLC and I did figure out the gesture thing on my own. I play offline so that I don't see messages, ghosts, or bloodstains to spoil shit. Idk the statue just seemed different, and the little message on the ground (that's part of the game) just made me feel like that room was special. The statue was of Marika (the "mother") so I said fuck it and tried the O Mother gesture. The map was also a giveaway to me; the room lead in the direction of the green area which I couldn't find any other way to get to.
Once you play enough of Miyazaki's games you just start to get used to his tricks lol.
