    How many times a day to “shoot for” to do this set of five minute exercise? Once an hour is possible? I also have access to a YMCA Deep Water pool exercise class that is about an hour, they also have the water dumbbells…is that beneficial, too?

    • @DrBrendaMMalka
      @DrBrendaMMalka  Месяц назад

      If the pain is 5 or over on a scale of 0-10 I would do massage and ice in the area. Once it is below 5, I would do the exercises about 5-10 minutes a day

    My right arm pains, not at the back, but in the front , where biceps meet the shoulder muscles , and top portion, I cannot sleep on my right shoulder. I do weight at Home, may be that caused it, worsened by continuously holding mouse , at arms length ( I don't have a computer table and chair, I have to sit on sofa, and place my laptop on adjustable table).
    Taking painkiller doesn't help. 🙄
    What should I do, already I am skipping exercises. 😭 I am 50 male.

      Self massage and stretching followed my applying ice can be helpful. Watch my general shoulder pain video. And yes, you need to solve your table situation, even standing at a high table is better than the couch, anything is better than the couch

    Thanks for the video. When I am sitting down, if I lift my right arm to put my hand on the desk in front of my body, I get pain under my armpit area. Any thoughts on this? It’s painful under my armpit area and when I laugh it hurts under there and towards the middle of the upper back. Thanks.

    • @DrBrendaMMalka
      @DrBrendaMMalka  3 года назад +1

      It's difficult for me to diagnosis with the information that you are providing. It sounds like a shoulder issue. I have a couple of shoulder videos that target different parts of the shoulder.

    • @sheetalgothi8994
      @sheetalgothi8994 3 года назад

      The doctor said I've spondylitis

  • @randomconsumer198
    @randomconsumer198 2 года назад

    I heard that's is because the muscles are too loose, not tight enough. Due to overreaching the right hand for the mouse.
    I was told to try to tighten the muscles you mentioned near the spine between the shoulder blade, so that natural tension is restored.

    • @DrBrendaMMalka
      @DrBrendaMMalka  2 года назад

      It's tight muscles that cause trigger points. When a muscle is over stretched, it reacts by tightening up. The bodies reaction to a pulled muscle is for the muscle to contract to prevent tearing.

    • @DrBrendaMMalka
      @DrBrendaMMalka  2 года назад +1

      That is after the muscle is released by passive care, massage, acupuncture, ect. If you start stretching or exercising a muscle that is in spasm, it will become more spasmed and you risk further injury. I tell my patients that if the pain level is above a 3, 0 being no pain, 10 being extreme pain, stick with passive care until it becomes a 3, then proceed with stretches and exercises. In my 30 plus years of practice, I have had countless patients who have come to me with injuries that they suffered from physical therapists because the PT put them into active care (stretches and exercises) too soon

    • @DrBrendaMMalka

    i have a variant of it (i think) called a "keyboard arm". Because with my left arm I operate character movement on the wsad keys, and I have had the habit of pressing real hard on them in intense gaming moments. First I think i need to try to unlearn doing that, the keys will be pressed with a light touch just fine, but you can sometimes get caught up in tense moments in difficult scenarios in the gam's story.
    I wonder if it's actually the same issue ?

    I am from India and having this pain in my right arm I used the mouse in bed for two days over 5 hours. I had last year also this kind of pain very severe pain but it slowly recovered. Again I have this now... I am now using a laptop table in bed.. Should I change my setup and can this kind of pain damage my arm completely? Can you please advice if you find time... Thank you

    • @DrBrendaMMalka
      @DrBrendaMMalka  2 года назад

      The most important thing is arm position. Make sure you are not reaching for the mouse not even an inch. Put your elbows at your sides and wherever your arms end up that is where your keyboard should be

    The muscles in my right arm get easily fatigued and the use of my laptop's mouse pad makes it a million times worse I woke up crying from the pain unable to sleep after using my laptop for a few days straight playing online dominoes like a month ago, I haven't played since even though I'm dying to.
