As a five year old,in the late 1940s, I remember my dear mother singing this.
Best Downton Abby scene
These lyrics were sparking in my 77 year old brain...such sweet sentiments expressing commitment and depth.
thank you for the lyrics!!
Barbra Streisand sings an excellent version on one of her early albums! 🤗
One thing led to another , Tiny Tim paying homage to Henry Burr and here I am listening to Henry Burr 🌊🫰🏻
I don't know why the hell they had Henry Burr sing this in 4/4. A couple of alternatives for you: Google "Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley sing together/Downton Abbey....also, Google Scrappy Lambert/if you were the only girl in the world, etc. Don't know if you can find that one, but it is on the internet, though it's just the vocal chorus with Scrappy. If you like Henry Burr, you really should hear him sing a song called, " Old Pal". (Not to be confused with old pal why don't you answer me, was he recorded both on acoustic and electric)) Victors). 🐸
Great content, Mr. Nipple.
