I have never seen this kind of fine against corrupt companies and banks. Or mainstream media who have put out so many lies with no responsibility
Happens all the time. Plenty of big cases you can search up for defamation. Almost always the defendant settles out of court though, so you don't see the final settlement amount
because those companies aren't as dumb as Alex Jones, did you watch any of the court proceedings? at one point he started defaming the judge

It;s symbolic. The MOST the court can award is 5m. Alex will tie it up in appeals for years, and then after that, the most he will have to pay is 5m - likely in 4-5 years time. Alex is worth about 80m (that was revelaed in court); and with this increasing media coverage his wealth will be over a 100 in 5 years time and he'll just pay 5m.

He MADE LOADS OF MONEY from telling the nation that grieving families of murdered children were actors, leading to death threats, stalking and harassment.
