Omg AJ even managed to run an add for his supplements in the middle of sworn testimony! P.T. Barnum would be sooooo jealous
Legendary
PT Barnum was a showman, a circus owner and remembered for promoting certain hoaxes and while that could certainly be a description of Alex Jones (as a modern day circus showman promoting conspiracies) when it comes to supplements I suspect you’re thinking of Clark Stanley’s Snake Oil Liniment. However, I’m probably nitpicking a little here but I doubt Barnum would be jealous about the selling of supplements during sworn testimony, but I do think Barnum would be impressed with Jones’ inexplicable appeal. I mean, how do people handle listening to him ramble on like that? And that’s when he’s being curtailed by court procedure. His show must be a lot.

InfoWars host Alex Jones was found guilty by default in all of the Sandy Hook shooting-related defamation suits against him on Monday.
A superior court in Connecticut ruled that because Jones has not turned over documents ordered by the courts, including financial records, he is guilty by default, according to the New York Times. That ship sailed when she ruled his cooperation with discovery was so bad, he lost already. You might say, “bias.” However, the Connecticut judge did the same thing.
Jones is not allowed to present material on HOW he arrived at his opinion. He is not allowed to present anything that might cast him as innocent since this corrupt court entered a guilty verdict without a trial. The ruling reads that Jones is "precluded" from presenting a defense. This is an epic level of corruption never seen previously in so much that he cannot share anything exculpatory. But if Alex can show the conspiracy theory had credibility at the time, and once AJ realised the proof did eventually come out, he publically apologised. But he never got a cease and desist letter, which is what Barns said is why the case should have been thrown out in the first place. But surly that would be a defence, but Alex did not get a chance to defend - because the judge said he was guilty by default in discovery. What a mess.
You don't watch many sentencings or trials, do you? No shade, just commenting on what I found cute. Yes, judges can and do receive letters and emails about cases they are residing over. One that comes to mind is the female police officer that shot a man dead in his car instead of tasering him. The judge, at her sentencing, comments on how many letters she'd received in support of the police officer. Stories of how she'd specifically aided them, etc. This is commonplace. I'm happy you've picked up this new hobby though! Watching trials can be very educational.

It's odd that Alex hasn't had a fit of coughing when being questioned by his lawyer. And his lawyer did Alex no favours at all by asking him open-ended questions and allowing him to ramble on because he came over like a fool.
Dude, the rules of evidence force open ended questions of your own witnesses. No leading is allowed. A leading question is one that suggests the correct answer. Like, "his shirt was red was it not?" You have to ask, "what color was his shirt" of your own witnesses. You can lead your opposition's witnesses.

Has anyone noticed Alex Jones' company supposedly has millions of dollars, but doesn't have a legal department that can provide the proper documents to avoid a "default judgement?" What?
Happens
The judge railroaded him and said he defaulted on discovery so she declared him guilty with no trial. He provided hundreds of thousands of documents but the judge kept demanding documents that didn't exist in order to deprive him of a trial by jury. The judge is an utter disgrace.
@@joey_bag_a_donuts It's a joke, and it's a meme. Did Alex Jones have the documents?
My theory is that they knew they were gonna lose from the jump, and are saving money/face. They didn’t waste time and money on a lawyer, let the default judgement go through, and now they’re crying victim.
There’s a video of Alex going nuts outside the courtroom saying how it’s unconstitutional and he’s not being treated as “innocent until proven guilty” so they’re weaponizing it for sure
they also offloaded around $125M about 6 months ago - it was sent to shell corps/accounts - there is going to be another case I imagine to track those funds down.
