I'm not sure what the big deal is. I think the dance was great. Even better than it would have been if they had looked thin. I've been thin and I've been fat. When I'm fat I can still look great and dance. When I'm fat and exercise it makes me breath really heavy because I'm FAT. That's what happens.
I've been overweight too. And you know what, after I was done making excuses - I changed what I ate and I started running. Magically I wasn't obese after a couple months...incredible that! I don't find this offensive at all. People who are offended need to question what's bothering them. It's likely because of their own denial that they CAN get in shape but it requires effort.
Schoolyard "humour." Very childish and mildly offensive. This kind of thing discourages heavy people from being physically active - they assume they'll just be laughed at.
> This kind of thing discourages heavy people from being physically active I know! That's why fat people choose to ride mobility scooters or not take their pets on walks.
OMG the fat women got so offended. I don't see this performance as being mean spirited. But looking at the choreography again, I can see why people with body image problems are offended. I liked this performance because I thought the dance gives me a good idea what it's like to see more curves in pro ballroom dancing. I like the look better. It looks more feminine, and ballroom dancing is big on gender binaries. Doesn't matter how they move, two skinny boy body twirling just doesn't convey the gender contrast to me. I think pro dancers just can't gain much fat or bulk muscle because they move so much. Too bad. Other people might have different artistic tastes, that's OK, because there's no "should" to that.
Michelle Husby No, you are obese. Your face would not be that fat if you were not. Despite the media pushing "fat acceptance", fat is not beautiful and is an eyesore. Plus you're a burden on our now public healthcare system. That makes you offensive.
Michelle Husby : Sorry, you are not "normal" sized, you are definitely over weight. You are probably normal for your peer group, but they are all fat too.
My point was it is not your business how much I weigh, but I am a happy fatty and not ashamed of it. My weight doesn't change the fact that this is offensive.
Neil & Ekaterina Jones 很有名, 這是他們穿泡泡裝在跳 showdance 不是比賽, 他們一點都不胖.

Leah Hightower I thought the fat suit makes her look much more feminine and that's nice.
My thoughts as well :-)
You're confusing "feminine" with "hippo-like".

Sure, go ahead and blame society for fat people not wanting to exercise. That's some serious fat logic right there.

Disrespectful and not funny. Shame on you.
This is so offensive to fat people. Why would anyone put on a fat suit to dance?
You're very offensive to normal sized people. Only fair that you'd be a offended once in a while.
I am a normal sized person. How do you think I'm offending?
