My grandma died this morning.
Heh, i remember the times when i was at her house, sitting on this bench around a big table. Her hands were constantly shaking, so when she'd bring tea on the trays she'd spill some.
Then when she'd put the tray down, she would say "Pazi, da ne boš kej polil" which translates to "Be careful not to spill it". Then in her last few days, her memory had almost completely gone. She didn't remember her own son or anyone but my grandpa. We knew it was coming but it just so happened to be this morning. Rest in peace.
I’m sorry for your loss
May she rest in peace. I feel you. My mother has liver cancer and has the same symptoms. Doctors said it's coming.. it's just a matter of time.

What I find so striking about the Era of classical music is how intelligent their music is. It helps stimulate and set an environment for deep thought and introspection. It seems the classical greats were philosophers of their own accord and in their own expression.
Yes and guys like Chopin are the best of them. For me Beethoven and Chopin are the 2 greatest piano composers because there compositions showed the creativity and deepness of the human mind and touched the listener's soul then and even now.

At the start, the chords are like a heartbeat; consistent and dark. It continues, shadowed and steady. The melody is a lonely figure trudging through the darkness of life... sometimes finding a bit of hope, others falling down. It continues on, trying to find a way to get up, get to the mountain of success that will never be reachable, trying to escape the darkness enveloping its lonely world. But it never will.
It thinks of the past, the happy days that have faded like light during a sunset. It's happy for a moment, a temporary segment of time, then it trudges on again, forgetting the memories and forgetting itself. The heartbeat returns, dark and solemn and deep in its chest.
It falls, lays there for a while. What's the purpose of all this? Why must it reach that mountain of success? Why?
It manages to get up; barely, but manages. The mountain looks further away, harder to reach. It falls again, but this time it doesn't get up. It stares at the sky, stares at the darkness around it. What's the point? Why should it get up again? It is so tired, so tired. It doesn't even know what's going on anymore. What's the point?
It never gets up again.

this brings a tear to my eye a man who has done so much for me is dying to stage 4 cancer and I know one day il hear these sad chords for him but I don't want that day to come....ever.
Always love when modern music takes from the classics. Like the imperial march. And the Batman theme which very clearly takes inspirations from this piece.

I thought the batman theme sounds like a perfect buildup for Darth Vader's theme and apparently they are both inspired by this
Chopin's Funeral March definitely makes me cry, because of the depressed melody in A part (funeral) and the slightly happy but a bit sad melody in B part (recollection of someone (e.g. family member, friend), looking back upon happy memories with him/her before his/her death). ㅠ_ㅠ
Same.
Listen Meldesson funeral march is very sad
“Care to see Heartmans’s heart-shaped heart?”
All jokes aside, I love this composition!

One of the most beautiful pieces of classical music I have ever heard.
Listening to this song I remember when I was a child and happy, the years pass quickly, quickly and cruelly.
So many good friendships, none exist today, friends stop talking to you and others moving to other cities, states, countries... What I have left is solitude and the good memories of that time. Enjoy your lives, your friendships, your families, we will never know what will happen tomorrow.
Friendship is no longer magic :(
Music teacher: Play something happy and joyful
Me : plays funeral march
It all started with this man. The song of the fallen from the battlefield, the song of the plagued lives that doctors couldn't save, and many others..
... and his song returns again from 2019 onwards.

People be thinking the Batman theme is from the Imperial march, but the real ones know......
Its insane how many emotions music can bring out.

hauntingly beautiful
Love that painting
My favorite Chopin's compostion. I feel this song in a spiritual level.
So popular and most people don’t know it’s name
Cuz the name is all long and complicated
Speak only for yourself..
I was playing classical music since age 4 until age 18, piano lessons and all that stuff and never realized that this was in a Chopin Sonata. The entire Sonata is lovely. This is a bit lugubrious but not sad. It's more a piece of strength in the face of the truth. Sort of like the poem by Dyan Thomas, "Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night".
True, I’ve searched for it since the sims 1 came out and the fishes died and the music played... only found it about a month ago! Sheesh...
This piece was also played for the Soviet politburo funerals
A song beyond words. Needing no pretension, it speaks directly to the soul in the most profound way. A deep and painful sadness. Therapeutic and sobering. God bless Chopin.
Not to sound annoying, but...
Song ? Where are the vocals then ?
It’s a piece
@@pommedeter7407 I appreciate your intelligence.
I’ve been looking for this piece for 3 YEARS.
This is why Chopin is the best. Nobody can portray emotion like him.
I like Chopin and Beethoven
I agree with you 100%.
R.I.P. RUclips dislikes, you were very helpful into detecting if the video is legit and worthy to watch or not until RUclips decided to shoot themselves in the foot
We owe so much modern music to this piece, from John Williams’ Imperial March to Michael Giacchino’s new Batman score.
A sok "modern" zene akkor MIND PLÁGIUM...mivel önálló mű alkotásához NINCS TEHETSÉGÜK: a szerzőknek...
My first time hearing this (or a tidbit thereof) was the old Warner Bros cartoons when I was growing up. I have loved this ever since I found out as an adult, years later the name of the piece...
That's what I call growing up in good old times. We were naturally exposed to high culture without even knowing about it. Now we have Jersey Shore and Dragon's Balls...
I think I first heard it in cartoons too. I knew it had to be a song related to death, because every time it was played it was after a character died.
Came here cause people said this is where the Batman got influence for the theme. Yup, the internet was right.
The classic song that inspired "Imperial March" and "The Batman" theme
But didn’t Lew Stone also technically inspire Imperial March as well?? I’m pretty sure both songs did.
An excellent composition, known all over the world, as a mourning piece. The grief in this piece is the grief of a man who dies far from his enslaved homeland, in a foreign country. Chopin was dying of tuberculosis, which was an incurable, very serious disease, longing for Poland, which had been occupied for over 100 years by Germany, Russia and Austria - countries linked by cooperation through royal families.
This piece has fear, unceranity, happiness, regret and many more emotions which I could not describe words, insribed in it.

The melody at 2:42 is one of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard in my life. I don't know what it is, but I just feel like crying when I hear it. I feel things that I've never even experienced. Goddamnit, Chopin, you were brilliant.
This is one of my favorite songs. It conveys so much emotion to me, about life, about death. And humans are like leaves floating in the wind, fragile, but we can do alot in the time we are still afloat.
This amazing piece of art inspired Jim Johnston to create The Undertaker’s theme song. And as a tribute, this should be played at Taker’s retirement or final match.
This is sad,yet peaceful in my opinion,if only music was like this
Proud American4145 Agreed
There is Alot of it but you r unaware of it .. Unfortunately
I’m really glad that The Batman movie is bringing more people to listen to/have knowledge of classical masterpieces like this.
Though many fail to see it, Chopin was one of this era's greatest artists, and he spoke through music beautifully.

I remember this song… It was December 12 1993. This gave me a whole trauma. Here in Hungary, when the first elected president Antall József passed away, a DuckTales episode was live, and the screen went black, and the Hungarian Television logo went on the screen and this music was playing..
Maybe most famous piece of music...but only some people know that its Chopin's sonata 2
People say they don't know or don't like classical music but don't even know that they hear classical pieces everywhere and sometimes just start singing the melodies themselves
think of all the classic Walt Disney films & Looney tunes cartoons.
