I was 8 years old in 1972 and joined the new school Chess club for a bit, (which I don't remember much of).
Now I know it was Bobby Fischer who inspired a great Chess craze across the USA in 1972, and he was the reason why the school started a club.
That means Bobby Fischer got a lot of people playing chess, but I had no idea who he was until after he died in 2008, the second time I started playing at a breakfast place in Grand Rapids Michigan. Nobody talks about the individual Fischer beating the communist system by himself, but that is the real story that we better remember.

I'm low rated but aggressive player. ;) Is knight e5 takes pawn g6 at 9:30 a sacrifice which makes the king vulnarable, then maybe threaten the rook w the bishop - maybe later push f2 pawn supportd by the rook. Just crazy speculation, I'd lose against most watching this vid in blitz. :p
