Jeez, I had the song in my head and was wondering if I could find it. It is terrible animation but we didn't know any better back then, because the 70's was the worst animation of all time. I watched this on Sat morning and just accepted it, but looking at it now, it's horrible!
I wonder if they didn't know about the Doctor Who on British TV? But that Doctor Who was never known as Dr. Who, just simply The Doctor. King Kong went from being a movie monster to being a friend, like Godzilla in the 70s.
Yes I remember when kid use to love watch this cartoon right before going to Gread school king kong was one of my favorite show thanks time travelers Boomerang is my favorite shows!!😎👌
The44automag I feel you buddy, I'm tearing up too. Contemplation of our lost innocent and carefree childhood is a painful thing which I don't think people understand.
I thought I would enjoy it but I didn't. At that time we didn't know how bad cartoon animation had become. In the 70's before computers animation was too expensive but as a society and on Saturday morning we demanded cartoons so they kept producing this substandard animation is crap. Good stori3es maybe
Yep, I agree that at my age of 57 that I really enjoyed these cartoons back then. But I just don't see the nostalgic value of them now. I appreciate the modern era where we can access the vast library of art from the past but I can't sit through a episode of the King Kong cartoon. Now going back a few decades to the old classic Warner Bros cartoons, I will never tire of those gems
I'm 54 myself and I realize not everything old withstands objective modern scrutiny. I couldn't actually watch the King Kong cartoon now because it's entirely for kids (unlike, as you say, things like loony toons) but I enjoy remembering how much I enjoyed them as a boy.
This was an ABC-TV series from Fall 1966,and ran on the network, until mid 1968 or 1969. animated in Japan by Toei Studios, under the supervision of Videocraft International, Ltd,later to be known as Rankin-Bass,who were famous for their outstanding stop motion animation specials! Bernard Kowan, one of Canada's finest voiceover men, did the voice of "Professor Bond"-Kowan also worked on Grantray Lawrence's "MARVEL SUPER HEROES" in 1966,and on ABC's "SPIDER MAN" cartoon series in Fall 1967.
"Put her down, Kong"! I used to watch this as a kid and the song came back to me after 50 years. I think the voice of Bobby was also the voice of Rudolph the red nosed rainbow, which I believe was a female …?
lol As bad as this animation is it is still way more impressive than most of the stuff I have seen the last 15 years 2D or 3D. Miss the old school cel animation. Just had so much charm knowing it was a physical thing. Every time I see a flash animated cartoon its just makes me ill.
So! It was that international Judas, who lies with the gutter rat, and all around naughty person Dr. Who who's responsible for global warming and not the world industrial complex! The villain! I bet that he makes his henchmen work on Thanksgiving!
That was one of the greatest animated series in history of televisión. It still brings me back a lot of memories in the past.
I remember this is one of the earliest cartoons I first watched as a young child!
Boy this sure brings back memories.. I'm going to be 60 yrs old in just a few days! Lol
I used to watch this EVERY Saturday morning! Thank you VERY much, Ms. Hatfield! :)
my dad used to watch this so much as a very young child he loved it and told me all about it
This Kong looks so CUTE!😍
Gorilla than yeti or Sasquatch
Svengoolie just talked about this. And sang the song. Wow thanks!
Expressive animation, appealing character design, and a personable Kong make this a fun watch. Smart writing prefigures the threat of melting icecaps.
This theme song been in my head for 50 years , but cant remember last Tuesday .LOL

Doctor Who moonlights as a villian, while taking a break from his real job as a time lord. Where does he hide the TARDIS?
my childhood right in front of me.....
I love King Kong💖💖💖💖
I guess this is the closest we'll ever come to a King Kong/Doctor Who crossover...
This is the best tv show ever
great movie! :-)
Who else thinks the boy should be in the new Kong movie? XD
My time during the good cartoons era
It's weird to hear Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer's voice coming out of Bobby.
