I want to point out that this is how gold works on blitz and people still use it it doesn’t become useless like some people say it prevents gold spam and still allows you to pen heavy armor but comes at a cost of damage meaning if you can force opponents to fire gold you are still rewarded by taking less damage.
as a blitz player, i think that doesnt really work in pc for the Armor powercreep has gotten to a point that gold is the new silver round- no actual "wp" and goldspam, like Type 5 H, makes it hard to nerf the gold round's statistics while maintaining a reasonable way to kill them.
Well yeah. Nerfing gold damage requires rebalance most tanks with armour. To actually make those who use basic round capable of utilizing their skills and game knowledge

That is slower than quite a number of tier 6-8 arties. That is another example of how to balance it. Don't forget... they would probably have longer reloads too.

Be real. The batchat rocket launcher is the most fun you had in arty. If they would add it to the game, there would be several in every game. In the overwhelming fire the queue was 4 heavy tanks - 230 spgs.
I think the heat mechanic has the best chance to get in the game. Sounds similar to the italian tanks that reload slower the deeper into the mag you go. Heat mechanic could allow a heavy burst of fire, followed by a cooldown but if you desperately need a few rounds, the lowered rate of fire of the gun cooling down a little between shots could be enough to survive an engagement. So initially fast dpm that slows down rapidly as the gun heats up.
5:20 fun fact - Polish client is not mentioning needing to win. It is still required to win a game playing Polish client, WG just doesn't bother to translate properly and address this bug as it is present in every arcade cabinet I have checked. I made sure they are informed but they still fail to fix the bug, causing frustration among Polish players.
That artillery unit is amazing for just the visuals alone. It looks so much FUN and it makes for a great viewing experience too. Would love to see you playing this non-stop.
I think an interesting idea to stop gold spam would be to put a limit cap on how much gold each tank can load. I think this would make players think about what ammo they load for what they shooting at and not spam gold. Also with this idea ammo loadouts for tiers might need to be a thing.
My Fav was the fact that since this a "FUN Game Mode" peeps were trolling their SPG around in TD mode and having fun at close combat with those rockets! Was awesome to watch!
Really, don't care about football mode. For me it was quite boring. The moon ball tanks, the billiards, was a bit of fun, but also quite meh. The recent Mars mode was better, had a bit of fun there. 8bit stories. That was fun. I would like to see it again. And the Chaffee race, that was really good. Best of them fun modes.
But then if the type 5 heavy and maus got into a fight with you.Its already a disadvantage because they hit for 500 but you can only hit about 340 to them so it substantially increase the power of well armored tanks

A premium tank with a 57 mm gun with 80-100 damage like the AMX 13 57, with 600-800 alpha outburst followed by a 23-25 second reload time might be possible. Doesn't the premium tier 9 light tank, the Char Mle. 75, behave in a similar way too already?
I feel you've overlooked one major difference between an autocanon and a large shell. The large shell, you just creep out far enough to fire it, then immediately pull back into cover. The autocanon requires you to stop and spend time exposed as you unload, giving your opponent more opportunity to do return damage.
tbh, considering how light damaging and minimal to no stun that the rocket arty deals, I could EASILY see myself playing that tank in the random queue. My word, would that be fun :)
Autocannon Arty is how it should always be. the salvo fire is wonderful. each hit doesnt need to be huge, but that salvo is intimidating and helps curb the rng brutality of missing and waiting a minute. this lets 'every' salvo do something with the same aiming skill. TBH the autocannons on current tanks (the JPE100 looks and feels silly) is meh. But the salvo mechanic for SPG is amazing if that is secretly what they are secretly testing.
It's basically normal BC 155 58 but buffed with area coverage, damage output and reload speed. BC 155 58 plays exactly like this except nothing happens when you fire the gun and a new clip takes a minute to load in.
it's SO overtuned versus almost all the other tanks in the mode. I was dominating in my EBR and one salvo rekt me on the move in moments, so awesome. Thunderclap and Prut are my favorites and seem meta in NA.
Actually the German army (ww2) did have a prototype 30mm galling gun, also they had prototype radar guided surface to air missile with a 40 mile range.
I always thought the old spg mechanics were not as bad as people were claiming, I never minded the high dmg considering the rng involved. So, an autocannon spg ? Why not, it's hilarious to play in this game mode and with good scaling, it can also be part of the random que without many issues. And all the other gun mechanics are awesome too, if they can balance them.
This reminds me of the suggestion/spit balling years back with arty, where you would, as the arty player, spawn with 3 of the same artilery piece you came to battle with. All move and fire in unison, but each is checked on its own rng, but all aiming at the same target. Gives "accuracy by volume" to help offset the horror of innaccurasy we currently have, while giving a chance to ACTUALLY potentially kill a target whe you get cornered. If you find the arty group (should be easier, 3 trails to follow) you have to kill all 3, which again gives them a chance to actually be able to fight back. More impact for the player, more points to farm for the enemy, more interesting overall gameplay. Obviously never hapened, and having 3x the arty would increase computer demand, but maybe somethibg more to it.
Maybe you remember QuickyBaby but a long time ago they were considering adding the Panzerwerfer and Katyusha truck into the game. I can't remember if it was just and April fools but I'd imagine the rocket artillery is a test for something like those.
I think this really is interesting , I'd quite like them to add with this kind of mechanic into the game. Seems fun and hopefully will be when its released as long as it's balanced I'm happy!
WoT Console player here. We have a split "match making system" one where its "closer to" what is available to PC but still vastly different in its own right - essentially the WW2 Era. Most of the Console community hates how WG Console devs have handled the game. Then we have the Cold War Era which goes up to Modern tanks. Think War Thunder tanks with WoT gameplay. The reason I bring this up, is due to the fact that WoT Console has tanks with rockets and ATGMs. WW2 tanks, like the Japanese Heavies, the Maus, E100, M6 and other tanks that have alternative cannon modles can actually USE those guns. The M3 Lee can use the 37mm cannon up on its bulb as well as the main 75mm. The 37mm ALSO has an upgrade module for a better cannon. The T1 Heavy gets to use its 37mm, same with the M6! The E-100 and Maus get to use their 7,5cm guns. And come August 15th were getring flamethrowers! So the Churchill 1 can use its flamethrower on the hull!!! I really am not excited about all of what I said, any use of an exclamation point is sarcasm. But I highly advise those that are curious, look into the types of tanks we have on Console because I truly feel like its a testing ground for wierd ass mechanics to be thrown into the PC client at times. Like....we had a Borsig with a 3 round auto-loader called the Iron Rain. It's bassically a tier 8 version of the WT AUF E-100...which the Waffletractor is still in console. I used to take pride in it, but its not good for balance.
They have auto firing rocket Arty in Console Modern Mode. All the tanks have larger HP pools in Modern. Console Modern also has True Vision. Even if you can't "spot" a Vehicle as long as they are in your line of sight you can see and shoot them.
All these autocannon stuff reminds me of when WG gave away the T7 combat car for everyone for free: So many shells that the servers themselves were lagging. You got into a battle with like 12 or more on each team, and you just knew when first contact happened solely by the amount of lag that was generated when those things got firing... For those unaware, the T7 Combat Car was a tier 2 gift tank with a 50 round autocannon and a very rapid rate of fire.
That mini gun jagdpanzer is fun to play, but I keep on coming back to the arty, it does so much damage so fast, and it shreds tracks like there’s no tomorrow
That thunder clap didn't run out of ammo,his gun got overheated. One tip for thunder clap is that you should fire rapid until the heat level goes orange and then stop firing until it goes down and then fire again.Cuz the time it takes to cool down is basically half the reload time.
Honestly, the Thunderclap is the best tank out of them all. The overheat mechanic is easily managed, and having such a huge magazine means you can keep fighting and taking shots even while your enemies are waiting on a reload. Not to mention it seems like a lot of people just don't know where to aim against a Thunderclap when they're facing frontally, which is weird because it has two giant drum mags on either side of the turret that have no armor and are hitboxes.
Wouldnt Surprise me if they added things like Begleitpanzer 57, ZSU-57-2 or BMP2 in the future at T10 Light vehicles with fast firing cannons, low damage per shot, avarage mobility and no armor
I think gold rounds should do like 60-75% damage of a normal shell. In real life most AP rounds are smaller in order to penetrate. Not including damage to crew, a smaller penetration round should cause less damage to the tank
It literally took me no time to finish this event. The E100 and Thunderclap is super good and I only lost 2 games I played and those were the ones where I didnt use one of these 2 overpowered vehicles
i really hope they add the PTVs style of machine gun to the low tier vehicles since the low tier machine guns were just made in a makeshift fashion from normal autoloaders. but knowing WG they will probably make this only for a tier 8 prem and a new tech tree tier 8-10
With nerfing gold rounds i think it would make sense to nerf their damage as heat and APCR rounds really dont do alot of damage inside the tank compared to a Solid AP round since most AP rounds are much larger and heavier. so it would be a cool change to see the lowering of Gold rounds damage for the increased pen and vice versa of ap round doing more damage and less pen.
some tanks should be buffed for pen and some tanks shouldnt be pennable in some situations anyways. you should have to go around and move. sitting in front of someone only showing super thicc armor is a fools play@@azgarogly
if you ever played console wot theres an tier 8 arty that also has a 3 burst mag called the equelizer basesed on an american arty (it exists very long in therer even longer than wheeled vics in wot pc)
Why are they adding these fake frankenstain vehicles when they could add a line of soviet snd german spaa. The PTV already has the turret bustle and armament of the ZSU-57-2. The MRLS vehicle has the turret of a gepard.

That would be an monumental change, they would need to go over every tank module and shell inside the game to balance it for that Otherwise it would just make the heavily armoured tanks even more dominant, when others are forced to use ammo that does less damage just to pen them

It's been said already but WoTBlitz figured out gold rounds MANY YEARS AGO. Gold rounds should trade damage for increased penetration. It's not a huge tradeoff but it works great.
How many credits for an arty mag dump for x amount of damage vs regular gold round damage? WoT business model is faster ammo use equals more money you spend. Enjoy
As a fun game-mode I think it’s way better just a mess around chill game but the only thing I change is a cupple more tanks and playing the same 8 is a bit boring after about 2-4h
I'm a bit late with this, but could it be that WG is experimenting with increasing hitpools of all tanks, as a balance mechanic for some op premium tanks so they can "nerf" them without actually nerfing them?

That auto SPG was murderous on point blank range. Best tank in the arcade mode.

Fun fact about the obj 143 "prut". Prut means fart in Danish, so me and some friends had a good laugh while playing it.

They are doing good rounds like steel hunter so you have to choose penetration or damage
Put in a Nebelwerfer and make it stationary and watch the bombardments commence!
I feel like they are going to go into more wheeled vehicles like the LAV-25, BTR, etc with their autocannons since they put in the GSOR 1010

on the gold round topic. balance it to only be able to carry like 20% of rounds as prem. that will end up buffing armor

some tanks should be buffed for pen and some tanks shouldnt be pennable in some situations anyways. you should have to go around and move. sitting in front of someone only showing super thicc armor is a fools play@@azgarogly
this game looks so damn pretty graphics-wise
It's the one thing where WoT shines. I can play 4K @144fps on a geforce 2080, where other 4K games would only manage ~40-50fps

What are the best starting tank lines to start on wot on pc? I'm coming from console please advise
if you ever played console wot theres an tier 8 arty that also has a 3 burst mag called the equelizer basesed on an american arty (it exists very long in therer even longer than wheeled vics in wot pc)

Why are they adding these fake frankenstain vehicles when they could add a line of soviet snd german spaa. The PTV already has the turret bustle and armament of the ZSU-57-2. The MRLS vehicle has the turret of a gepard.

Played the arty during this event and it was the most fun, i would play this if it was added to the game, the salvo is fun.
I am still hoping to get premium SPG once...
i started playing WoT around 2021, and US SPG was the first thing i maxed to tier X, i want premium 8th SPG ;-;

I might not play the PC version of World of Tanks but do play on Console and we do have Autocannon's in Cold War for the IFV'S and I play on PS5
Given how many auto canon vehicles there are from ww2 to mid/early cold war then its logical they test it first in a game mode before adding any

That would be an monumental change, they would need to go over every tank module and shell inside the game to balance it for that
Otherwise it would just make the heavily armoured tanks even more dominant, when others are forced to use ammo that does less damage just to pen them

Yeah, i did 16k damage in a game during this event and still lost so i didnt get progress for the bonds. Feels bad

Scary thing is... these tanks might find their way into the main game at some point. They bothered to model them. Just some stat tweaking and in they go.
It's been said already but WoTBlitz figured out gold rounds MANY YEARS AGO.
Gold rounds should trade damage for increased penetration. It's not a huge tradeoff but it works great.
I always wait until the enemy's BC fired to snipe them down with my BC59 in smaller maps
there are 3 round burst artys on consol, so its not impossible
If they add the rocket arty im out. The xbox has some auto arty that arent even as bad and they ruin the game for me

How many credits for an arty mag dump for x amount of damage vs regular gold round damage? WoT business model is faster ammo use equals more money you spend. Enjoy
As a fun game-mode I think it’s way better just a mess around chill game but the only thing I change is a cupple more tanks and playing the same 8 is a bit boring after about 2-4h
i think an auto canon arty in teh game with abouit a 20sec longer reload wouldnt be fine, with only one allowed per game

i think wargaming are not testing auto cannons as they have stated more they are testing the special rounds and the damage reduction to pen ratio
I'm a bit late with this, but could it be that WG is experimenting with increasing hitpools of all tanks, as a balance mechanic for some op premium tanks so they can "nerf" them without actually nerfing them?
11:35 Actually, artilleries had lower splash radius before the rework.
There's been so many reworks of arties over the years.
@@neilwilliams2907 They currently have larger splash radius and they are more accurate than they were before the stun mechanic was introduced.

Listen to 11:19 - "Wargaming upped the splash once again to 15 meters, this is kind of like old school arty with new school penetration" - I'm pretty sure you can work out for yourself which rework is supposed to be the dividing line between the "old school" and "new school" here. Hint: It's not the one it would need to be in order for your correction to be correct.

i would love to see gold rounds get reworked to be the same price as standard but just have good penn for mediocre damage.
Well if they do the same system as what is in wotblitz, basically less damage, more pen, but the rounds are still as expensive
