It's very situational tank, not so agile. I dont think so it's OP. U have a game which is very good but than u have quick game or map where u just can't do so much for the team.
The ambush at 13:50 is one of the best WOT ambushes I've ever seen wow
I think it falls apart if the T32 goes as ham as the Obj 277 on the other side. Maybe QB and friendly 277 can kill him before he gets behind QB but this still allows the rest of the push to continue. If he does get behind QB it's over. I guess that's part of what makes it good though, it's literally the shock and indecision of enemy team when the turtle pops up on the flank that wins it.
I would definately have flanked the turtle and not sit in front of it not like these bad players but i have to admit that location is so op i already used it a couple of times
I actually hadn’t even thought about using that location…could probably make it work in a Tort too but that damn mg port up top…
What is even funnier is that quickbaby not long ago posted a video of a centurion i think dont remember staying in that corner in ambush, and quickbaby just rushed it and killed it, dont remember what tank he had.

That is because 9/10 the 277 doesn't fall back, and the other teammates don't join in and anyone in QBs position would have just got rushed by like 3-4 tanks there, there were just enough guns there to make effective and he had some scary DPM which always puts people off if they are taking damage that quickly which can stop the yolo rushes. But most WOT teams are so awful you are likely to be alone or maybe with 1 tank in that sort of situation and the horde just swarms you.
This is not mistake from wg. This is just great plan to make more money selling premium tanks without making new premium tank

Super turtle?
There's one thing that keeps the turtle balanced, and that's playing against tier 9s and 10s. Which is 80% of games when playing tier 8 now. It has the same problem all of the assault tier 8s do. Great armor for the same tier, but useless armor against higher tiers, especially if you're not hull down.

You can literally pinpoint the moment the game started nosediving. When they added the t8 heavy tank premium trio. The Patriot, Liberte and the Russian abomination. All of which were better than their premium and tech tree peers. Ever since then the amount of stupidly armoured new additions to the game that are horrible to play against sky rocketed and they proceeded to slap armour on to nearly every already existing t10 gun dep medium also
Letting people buy premium with silver singlehandedly removed armour tanking as a concept, the only things that get to be invincible now are the premiums or the newest tier 10 that have 8000 mm of armour everywhere and it's all rounded with no weakspots
Im a free to play player who got this thing for free during the tresure vault thing last patch. Im not complaining lol. After a "drive forward and die" stock game with 75% crew, I hop in this and feel what its like on the other side of the fence
I got this (and the M4A1 FL 10) from that event and I am the luckiest man alive

First battle is super lucky. Usually enemies use gold rounds and land 100% of it.

Its always the case In Videos of content creators that I get really fucking confused on how they got such muppets as enemies.
For me its one out of 100 games that I have such "paid actors" if not even like 1 in 200 games.
Normal for me is 80 percent of my enemies firing gold and hitting the most stupid pixel shots at my weakspots.

The actual reason for the buff is to make more players buy this tank. Turtle I was one of the less played tier 8 premium tanks out there.
now think again. less played, not less bought. If they sell it now or within a month, MAYBE you are onto something.
Otherwise,yes, it was seldomplayed, as its (and many, afaik QB aswell complained) far to slow for the current meta. So it was buffed.
They should have left it with the speed buffs for the moment,but should still be OK.
Its not like there is no OP tier 8 premiums that were sold recently...
Loved it and marked it even before the buffs, the enemy's never estimated that fast reload time of this thing😅

The change made to turtle push it in line with other assults premium TD TS-5. All the thing they buff, make closer to the stats of TS-5.
If look at the stats before Turtle and TS-5 they close to each other in stats with TS-5 better of the 2 tanks over all. We see a lot more TS-5 on the battle field by about 6k more battles which 52% win rate as well, does more avg damage per game. Now we see these two assault tank more inline with each other. 8,8 cm Pak 43 Jagdtiger another assault TD could use a buff as well. I'm not sure on a few of the other assault TD classes, since I don't own them
It is still balanced compared to the OP Jagdtiger 88
It's still about ts5 standard and you are fine with that.... and mostly only ever see t10 in mine
I can understand that speed buff but not the others.
After buffing every tanks speed to an amount that does not force you to spend 6 minutes to get to the fight while the games only last 3,5 minutes.
I get the point that the speedbuff has a lot more implications then getting into the fight but with ever other tank getting faster and faster being limited to 20 is extremly annoying.
I think they should have given that speed buff, non of the other buffs and maybe nerft the visionrange or DPM a tad to compensate (or any other aspect I have forgotten)
I use to dread playing my turtle because of the terrible shell velocity. So different from every other vehicle I couldn't snipe. I feel that's all it needed. But man I played a few games after your stream yesterday and they were all much more enjoyable. I'll definitely get back to working towards the tier X now that I enjoy the premium.

Don’t worry, luckily he gave bad advice such as not running turbo, which means its no bigger threat than it was last patch… I don’t know what in qb’s mind is prompting him to choose vents over turbo or before this patch vents over hardening… the extra track hp, full track repairs along with more hp is way better than what vents can offer you and now the extra top speed but more importantly reverse speed is way more valuable than some vents

Because he values generic improvement to his tank more than reverse speeed for niche scenarios? Evidently it works for him.
I can't say I see the appeal of turbo unless I utilize the extra HP or the forward speed in a meaningful way
(one exception being the swedish TD-s, because it changes the siege mode as well)
I got the turtle for credits in a past auction. It was gathering dust in my garage. It went from a 0 to hero.

Im sick and tired of the constant increase in mobility of the super heavy tanks in this game, it makes no sense. Crazy armor was ok when i could isolate a heavy and circle it to death in a medium. Equipment needs to segregated by class as well. no TD should be using a durabillity device or turbo. no medium tank should be using exhaust and cvs, no heavy should be using turbo or optics of any kind. The classes mean nothing at this point because every tank does everything.

QB, in your honest opinion... Do you think one of the Turtle's direct competitors, the TS-5 should be nerfed as well? It has very comparable stats (mobility and armor) to where the Turtle Mk 1 stands now. (Forgive me if you answered this in your video. I have yet to watch the entire thing.)
well, the problem is that nerfing a premium tank ismt really possible unless maybe if its newly buffed

Keep in mind you are asking a guy who once played one of the halloween game modes without reading how to play the mode, then called it boring and confusing when he couldn't figure it out in his "official review" of the game mode.
It's seriously nuts that Wargaming thought a 51% WR tank needed buffing at all. Remember, given the existence of draws, "average" WR in World of Tanks is roughly 49%. But they didn't just buff it, they took an already above-average performing vehicle and *giga-buffed* it. The Turtle is now overall *better* than the Tortoise until you unlock the Tortoise's top gun. And the Tortoise is the *best* Tier 9 tank destroyer in terms of winrate, WN8, damage per game, and damage blocked.
Frankly, now that this buff has gone live and presumably will never be revered, Wargaming should move the Turtle up to Tier 9 and give it the HP pool appropriate to that tier. If they want a replacement Tier 8 British TD, go with a "Tortoise prototype" using the stock 32-pounder (which is the IRL Tortoise's only gun).
WG buffs Turtle, content creators complain about how OP it is, ppl run out and purchase the tank. Totally brilliant!

Turtle I is very good rn, AP round has 1050 m/s and premium APCR 1200 m/s. With normal turbo going with 30 straight.
I got this tank from the last Treasure Trove event and it's my only tier 8 premium. I stuck the bond turbo I got from the event on it so it can go zooooooom and even turn corners against enemies without the need for a turret. (I have durability also instead of vents)
That being said I ended up losing more probably because I got overconfident and people are more aware how to pen it.
They should buff tanks like CDC. Basicly if i see that on the field already brings a smile on my face. That one has trash pen, low dmg/shot, armour is like a cocacola can. Even tier 6 light can pen on any angle
I remember I was playing a favorable match up in the turtle before the buff and I got 4.5k damage. Someone was like "yeah, it really needs a buff"
I think you're 100% wrong. I didn't like playing the turtle before; it just sat in the garage. The side armor is still bad, it's lower plate is still bad, T10 still pen straight in.

Overall I agree with QB's message. Tanks like these aren't solutions to the 15-3 simulations that we get everyday. It seems that WG still have their head in the sand when it comes to balancing and are rather prioritizing their money making capacities rather than their integral game health and balancing.
truth is that there are no such thing as 15-3 simulator, watch less Skill, guy shitting misinformation like mad man
take these battles with a grain of salt as to whether or not it was "overbuffed". the first battle was tier 8's, and it was driving up a hill so the speed changes weren't even observable here because they didn't buff it's HP/t, nor terrain resistances just the top speed. its pen was buffed, which is still low end for TD's anyways as the TS-5 has the same top speed but with even more pen and better armor.
Well this buff of existing premium that is likely to be sold (not gambled) is not the biggest money grab that we have seen from wg
I disagree, Turle is an assult TD, other wide used assault TD is TS-5, these changes place Turle now at par with TS-5, with TS-5 still be better overall.
Balancing is not the same as matchmaking. I agree MM and "unbalanced" matches seems to be a pretty big problem needing focus.
TS-5: Much better armor, better speed, almost identical DPM, better alpha, more HP, better camo. Is better in almost every single way.
Wargaming: We should probably give the turtle something better than the TS-5 or at least make it above average like the TS-5
QB really needs to stop letting his emotions guide his opinions so much. He calls the Turtle "So darn fast" and says the new British medium tanks "can't get around quickly" while going 65kph.
turtle was siht and in every way minor to ts-5. now it's sort of fun
This is such a bad take. TS-5 is OP (as much as turretless TD can be OP...) so bringing Turtle to its level was a bad idea. It was already a very good TD - just boring because it was slow. Bumping its top speed to a more reasonable level (25 km/h is still slow but not painfully-near-obsolete-slow) was the only buff it needed.
Premium tanks were never supposed to be flat better than tech tree tanks. Funny how the community has just accepted the power creep over the years for the sake of monetization.

@@antinotice QB literally says in this video "The TS-5 is only good from a gold perspective and when your opponents sit in front of you", Meanwhile shows his top matches where that is exactly what happens in all 3 of his matches with players who playing awfully in the tier 10 matches. I am not saying the Turtle isn't a great tank now but QB's opinion and reasoning is a pretty hot take.
Console version got 243 pen on standard rounds, premium rounds got 285 pen but kept the awful shell velocity
I believe console receives the updates later than the pc version so just wait a few months and it might become more like what we saw in the video
Just a reminder that this entire game would be impossible in an AT15. Turtle mk1 even before buffs was already better in all the ways that actually mattered. Average premium tank just being a tier 10 but downtiered.
Just got back into the game after a few months this explains why the turtle was able to pen my e3 frontally consistently

I think its important to consider that QB is not an average player, so he is able to exploit buffs to their maximum, while your average player like myself, probably wont notice a huge difference.

That ambush was some Napoleon level play
It was buffed for popularity, they gave out a bunch of turtles from the boxes and no one but me played them.
I have had the Turtle 1 since 2021? I bought it to crew train my British crew when I was grinding thru to the Badger. Haven't played it since the buffs. Must give it a go again I reckon.
Unless I am having a senior moment, I can't find the Turtle anywhere in either the tech tree or the premium shop...

There are many problematic tanks: My highest DPG tank is cobra. And I have games against heavies on corridor maps which are instantly lost I can pen one shot and end with 600dmg, they are not rare. But there are games where I have 4k damage not even knowing where I got it. It's like getting into abbey monastery, having standard b pushing and boom-boom-boom-boom, 1700dmg in 6 seconds. In my opinion other super problematic tanks are bourrasque (not only it's on par at dpg with progetto, but it's faster, has better camo and replace light tank in tier 10 battles. Then SkodaT56 and Bz176 are very strong as enemies. Bz176 has higher alpha than e100, gun depression, it's faster and armor ... when it's hulldown i don't feel it's worse.
Idk for me, when I see turtle I think "GOLD GOES BRRRR" and it dies, but we will see

I remember getting this tank in a Black Market bid for credits, i remember thinking i might overpayed for it but i mean... 240 standard pen is great
WG doesn't pay their own game. So the results of them not knowing how to balance is not surprising.
my guess is they dont look at winrate when buffing premium tanks, but at how well a tank sells
I think QB missed something here. Dispersion while moving and while track traverse were also buffed from 0.25 to 0.18 each according to tanksgg

I remember when it was on sales for credits on the black market, but decided not to buy the tank to save for smth else, but what a terrible mistake I did not buying turtle.

The Ts-5 still has better pen, better damage, almost the same damage/minute, waaaaay better armor, speed is 26 and nobody had a problem.
Just checked, the TS-5 has higher WR and average damage.
Would you be pleased if WG were to do this with every other older premium tank out there, as well as nerfing them after a while instead of premium spam we get nowadays? Lets say Among +100 tier 8 premiums there would always be a relevant 20, but different each year, how does that sound?

I wouldn't call 25kph racing around the battlefield. There's a reason the T95 no longer goes 12kph, because it's unfun to play tortursly slow tanks. Every tank reviewer said to not get this tank because it was painfully slow, had bad pen, and the armor wasn't good enough to justify it going 20.

This thing just became the best 8 or 10 million credits I spent in the game back when I bought this from the Black Market a few years ago. I don't think it even sold out on the NA server
Sales numbers said "buff it" cause it wasnt sold well enough showing that wg doesnt give crap about balance or toxic tanks as long as they make money.
Quite happy that I bought it for a few million credits in a black market last year, pays off now :D
WG wants to sell more Turtles. 100% the reason. They are nerfing tech tree TD's and buffing Premium TD's. They are making so obvious anymore and don't give AF. They care about $$$ and that is it. Lets see if the Turtle goes on sale soon. I'll bet. 🤘😎 Tankers

The more battles a player goes through, the more consumables they have to replenish, the more progress they make towards expensive tier research, the more rapid serotonin release addiction.
They're trying to hook players harder while getting them to spend more as well.
WG is usually loathe to nerf a premium tank because people pay for it and then tend to get really mad if the tank is then nerfed.

Theres a reason why WG makes these stupid OP vehicles, and why games have gotten to be so fast - it makes them money. They will sell a TON of these Turtles, just like they did with the TVP 100, BZ176 and every other ridiculously OP t8 premium. That much was pretty obvious, what wasnt so easy to see is that if people are using gold rounds and premium consumables it means theyre spending more credits per game. More credits spent per game generally means more premium accounts sold as folks cant keep up with regular game play using these premium shells and consumables. If you can speed up the games to 3-5 minutes per game, over thousands of games per day, thats a lot of credits spent by players to help push premium accounts.

Rumor has it, WG changing their balancing model, to more frequent and smaller changes instead of overbuffing/overnerfing tanks, also S.Conq nerf incoming

Su 130 PM, Progetto 46, Skoda T 56, Iron Arnie, BZ 176 and now this and WG still insist on a +2 MM so you will meet all these tanks when you are in a tier 6 tank. Seriously?
None of those battles were impacted by the buffs. Does going faster make a difference sure but the armor and gun are pretty much unchanged. Tank has always been a sleeper that no one wants to play because it is slower than most tanks in the game. It’s popularity will go up because of the buff to its speed but nothing that is game breaking. I am not going to rage every time I see a turtle on the red team like I do with I see a 279e and pretty much know the results of the battle are predetermined!
I'm moving up the Brit turtle line, everyone spams gold instantly, bounce nothing. Yes, when your top tier, you own 1 on 1... But so do most tanks. Combination of all the buffs might be pushing it a bit but any one alone wouldn't make much difference
