Alongside watching Rebirth VODs I'm rewatching this for a second time. Last time I watched it was a few years ago and I don't think I've ever had so much fun watching a let's play before. It was so fun seeing all the different bosses and changes and your reactions to them.... a notable one is the frogs in the City of the Ancients where you lost your mind... so many good memories of just having no responsibilities and just watching your vods... I'm 21 and have responsibilites now and it just reminds me how much I missed being able to come home after school to watch let's plays or spend the entire weekend watching them.

It's so nice that they instead made some Limit Breaks Abilities. Damn the Abilities are so great. The one that comes with the Buster Sword is my favorite honestly. Quick damage
You're not capitalising names. That's a hanging offense right there.
I only capitalize names if their username is actually capitalized. Some people care about those things (me xD)
Yeah I realised later you were copying usernames. God I wish I was one of those lucky people who doesn't care about these things. Those bastards.
Me too xD I have always been adamant about my name being all undercase. When I originally designed the name i had that in mind, so for me people are just getting it wrong when they capitalize it. But it's such a silly thing to care about, I should care about more important things, like french fries vs onion rings.
It's the inconsistency for me. I used to prefer all lower case, but now it looks awkward to me next to everything else being capitalised. Humans are broken as shit.
I'm not saying FF13 is terrible but it wasn't particularly great....games can't be rushed is what this proves.

Never knew FF7 modding is a thing. This mod looks incredible and the vids are really entertaining. I would really like to play it myself, but I can definitely enjoy watching someone play if that someone knows what he's doing. Gives me more time to catch up playing other games.

I like this models probably the best out of all the mods ive seen. The HD ones always kinda move all weird.
I can already tell I'll like this more. I got bored of the nightmare mod somewhere between episode 10 and 15. This was an hour long, and when it ended I was like "wait it's already over, nooooo".
I never thought of robots when I heard the word, clone. I always thought of using DNA to create a genetic equal.
Literally LOL at the "certain parts of you will be stronger" part. When u eventually get the steam version of vii I will certainly play this mod. Thank you for the demo.

That's the solution to the problem you described 6 years ago. It's still the solution now. Never pre-order. Never give them cash for a game that isn't out, because they'll always ask for more cash for the second half of the game you already paid for next. You have to teach people how to treat you. And pre-ordering teaches them to treat you like a sale they've already made.

When I first played FF7 it was a friends so I never had a save game and just played as far as I could while I was at his house. So we didn't know how to run so we tried to beat the time limit just walking and I can tell you, it didn't happen until one visit I found out how to run and BAM we both saw Tifa's bar for the first time. It's really cool seeing an enhanced version that does more then just change a few stats or something minor like that. I'll be excited to watch this series.
I enjoyed watching this mod a few months back so much that I'm rewatching this play through again. Also wanted to add a few things. Congrats on making Twitch partner I know it's been a long time coming so nice going 💀Death💀 and ty for all the hard work and dedication making it there. I also can't stress enough how much I would love to see you play CRISIS CORE.....PLZ PLZ PLZ DO THIS. Been wanting to see that since becoming a subscriber. The first time I played this mod imagine my surprise when the first encounter wasn't two soldiers, but an enemy set from the world map near Mideel. One hit dead. When I tried it a second time it worked fine. 🤔
also, did anyone else notice that cure is holy elemental in this mod? kinda cool.
Dual is an unused status effect in the game and is akin to the sap/ seizure effect in the previous games.

58:13 The reason to put Barret in the front row is so you can deal normal damage to enemies in the back row without having to wipe out the front row first.
I started this up after I found THIS, and in the bit where you can choose to fight or run from the soldiers before hopping on the train, if you pick nothing fast enough, it forces you to fight for your hesitation

I just noticed that the shopkeeper in the first shop is the Kalm traveler. Is that new to the mod, or have I just never noticed that before?
Did he interpret the potions wrong when he looked at them? He said 300 hp in field and 100 hp in battle, but he kept getting 300 hp when using them in battle.

If you like mods that make the game harder but not brokenly hard, and aim to better balance and redesign things, you might give Final Fantasy 6's Brave New World mod a shot.
It uses some deep ASM hacking to add new features, fixes nearly all the outstanding bugs in the game, rebalances nearly everything and to top it off apparently adds a bunch of new end game content.
After just seeing the menus and better descriptions of items, I'm inspired. Totally downloading everything for this. Quick question though. Did you use the full installer or the mod loader?
There's a installer for this mod or you can download the 7th Heaven mod package and there is a copy of it there. The direct installer is more up-to-date but the 7th heaven package is easier to install in my opinion, so take your pick. I use the 7th Heaven version.
Thanks for the quick reply! Decided to go with the 7th Heaven mod as, yes, it's way easier to install. Now I just need to watch your play-through for some references! Also, do you know of any way to up to resolution? I'm playing on the original 1998 version and it's stuck at 640x480.
considering you almost certainly needed ali's opengl driver to get the game to run, change your resolution in the opengl driver config file, you can change both the internal and external resolutions separately as well as some other useful options. that should work anyway

don't know how they added Jessie to the battles and all the other stuff but this is by far the coolest mod ive seen for ff7. is this the entire game moded or is it just thru disc 1 like a lot of the other mods? can anyone tell me?

Regarding your DLC comment, depending on the structure of your software, you usually cannot just slap big complicated things right in and expect any degree of real stability. There has to be some level of pre planning involved for DLC to have any substance.
For example, the Witcher 3 fully planned its DLC, but it was really good stuff that added a lot of value. HOWEVER making the game and then splitting it up into different parts you can sell before release I am definitely not into, yet that is exactly what they're doing with the FF7 re-make. But I suppose in that case the other sections aren't made yet either, so you could call the subsequent episodes "Packaged" DLC.
Some companies are certainly bigger jerks about it all than others.

Final Fantasy 7 has caused me nightmares too. When Advent Children first came out in Japan I was first learning to author DVD's. Which is a pain in the ass and this was over 10 years ago. Seeing Bahamut SIN in my dreams is... not pleasant, lol.

As a kid, i guess i always read their warning about the scorpion counter attacking wrong. I always thought it said to attack him while his tail was up.

Soo when I start the mod it NT 1.5 it says to check the kernal by seeing if I have the 3 materia and I do but then it says to check the scene by making sure the first enemies are named MP Traine but they are still Ex-soldiers like in this video.. I am confused big time I think it might be a script from another mod overlapping? Any help would be appreciated but I don't expect you to see a comment from this far back

@@4-8Productions I got it working after a clean reinstall of 7 and 7th heaven my comodo put the mods in a virtual folder so that was making everything all wacky like when I saw Rufus and got hit by pyramid on my second battle and one shot lol that was my first clue something was wrong.
would be better to give cover and protection bangle to backrow barret, because of his stacking bonus :)

Innate Abilities sound like a great idea. Square didn't implement this until Chrono Cross.
I noticed something different about a Materia's characteristic; Restore Materia never had an elemental attribute before. Now it's Holy/Life. Tres Intressant.
That Repulsion Ray...I wonder what would happen if all the party members were to be removed from battle...in a boss fight...
One scenario comes to mind. Critical Error.
Or, a forced Game Over Event Call.
As a game creator, a completely banished battalion would be complimented nicely by some story text and a Game Over Event Call (easily done with RPG Maker).

Would be a lot better if you watched the game instead of chat...guard scorpian was moving your character between front/back row while you where saying you wish Cloud was in the back row...
I'm hoping it gets better, he just beat Guard Scorpion where I'm at and I'm staring at this like, pay attention to the game, I'm still not sure if he noticed his error with the potions or if he ever noticed that Guard Scorpion was moving Cloud and Barret all over the front and back rows. I think the mistake he's making here is assuming that a lot of the game is unchanged, which is the worst assumption to make about New Threat, a great deal has changed from even the very first fight. If you haven't played this before you have to pay attention because this will punish you.
Hey. I just noticed that the potions do indeed restore 300hp in game and not the description stated 100hp. Thoughts?

If you're using 7th heaven, why not use the other mods that the catalog comes with? specifically the new models for the characters both on field and battle, the high res backgrounds, menu and battle/command boxes overhaul, etc. I've been playing this and I absolutely love it
I've played with all sorts of mods on my stream, for this playthrough I'm just using the New Threat Mod so that people know what it is.
hey i just installed the nt mod and im really indecisive about playing original or the arrange mode... cant find any solid info on what the real difference is other then its a little harder
i cant get past the screen with that ladders cause i keep running into the first boss as a regular enemy and he deals 4k damage a hit, so i cant even get to the first save, and it doesnt let you run away from the enemy either

Matra magic in the first available Forest. Go to fort Condor when running out of mp. The Forest is filled with large battle groups.

In the 90s it was kinda a thing in popular fiction fandom to conflate clones and robots for some reason. I'm not sure where it was coming from, but I actually had to set a bunch of my friends straight on this issue myself.
I watched and read a bunch of sci-fi when I was young, so I knew exactly what Cloud was supposed to be, but a bunch of people around me were legitimately convinced he was some kind of robot. I guessed the red screen tinting and high pitched noise really didn't help the situation, either.

I know what you mean. My last playthrough was on an emulator where I could take the frame limit off and make battles only a few seconds long. It still was several days of play before I was even close to maxing out Cloud. Ain't nobody got time for that, so once I Lv99'd and maxed Luck & Speed, I knocked out the Weapons and called it quits.

The cloud model on all original versions are so freaking ugly! This mod helps a lot and its mostly the jagged edges makes the model look like a real life person.

Barret is useless?
He can attack enemies in the back row with no penalty.
He can sit in your own back row and attack with no penalty.
These two things probably make him more versatile than just about every other party member until Vincent, which by then... Barrett should already be doing miles more damage than that useless side character.

FF15 is a huge improvement in quality.....Same quality as FF7 for sure which is great for ff.
IMO, FF 13 was poorly done and rushed out the door much like CoD: Ghosts!
