Unbelievable tone. It's probably either the huge gold-faced stereo amplifier Bob Gjika built for him or the combination of Westbury Tube Overdrive into (solid-state) Holmes Mississippi Bluesmaster. Based on the low-end response (especially through decent headphones/speakers) I'd wager it's the Gjika. Wonder what became of that amp, and the rest of his gear for that matter.

Shawn Lane était le plus grand. Simply the GOAT. RIP. 🙏🙏
Masterpiece only tears 💟
2:10 One of the greatest guitar solo ever recorded, great tone, too.

@@desvega5849 there’s a gjika p.o.t amp on reverb made in his memory
It really is one of the greatest solos
Best tone
@@desvega5849 i wonder the same about his gold charvel that appears in his REH feature.
This guy was pure heart.
RIP Shawn, the world misses you.
Amen.
he had a drummer's heart! just way more loyal, i hope!
that was a joke, by the way~
did you know, there's more neurons in the heart than in the head:: but shawn had a fairly good head-brain as well, clearly
well, who's counting: that may or may not be true, anyways,
some hearts are bigger, or smaller, just like heads, haha
I'm so glad he bothered to make 2 versions of this album.
This part @ 2:12 is one of my 10 fave riffs of all time. What a choice of notes. What a guy. Wish he were here....
Brilliant
A mix of Genius.
We were not ready for his being. Rest in eternity Shawn 💙💙
actual genius
what-did-you-just-say, oh! yes! salvia, not 'saliva', you're-okay, ese, ha ha!
one of my absolute favorite tracks recorded by anyone, and we're fortunate enough that it was none other than the man, himself.
This tune is fucking sublime
perfect words
@@Zero-di9mz effing-the-opposite of 'hostile', right?
Even Coltrane would have been impressed..I.m.h.o.
What an incredible talent!
good comment, i think so too!
i would think anyone oughta be impressed... maybe not bela fleck, or victor wooten or somethin', i guess, haha
Amazing tone....amazing master Shawn Lane...
sometimes he played like he was runnin' outta time, but always with passion, grace, and fire!
This song is amazing, Shawn Lane deserves way more credit!
a virtually unlimited line for awhile, just to see what he would do...if only , right? ~~~~~~~~~
This is beautiful and awesome musicianship.
what a monster... beautifull music
Pure magician.RIP
MASTER!!!
he would probly argue he was a mid-level student at best, to which, we should probly say, 'hey, okay, how-would-i-know, anyway', right?
The solo from 'Not again' is my favorite solo of all time
there's a lot of 'em by my favorite group: various artists, check that!!
god dang...i just listened to 'not again' from this same album...just brilliant...wow,right?
you still alive?

illusions can be way more 'durable' than 'reality' in some instances, ha ha~
Thanks for posting this! Love this album.
Doesn't anyone hear Steve Morse on these songs?
Yes
gran turismo 3 menu song
Steve Morse doesnt sound like this AT ALL
Not Solo, not with the Dixie Dregs, not with Deep Purple
You better give Steve Morse another listen
musicisthebestF
Steve Morse is awesome!!
I always seem to find my way back here...
damn-joe satriani was onstage with shawn lane--and he couldn't even bear to look at shawn--haha--he looked like a hobbit next to shawn lane---haha!!
that looks so wrong in text--i flippin' love joe satriani! and joe stands tall as a mountain in my view!

@@antson6969 no, wait, you're right! it-wasn't-me!
can you blame us? :)
Personal opinion, but 'Illusions' is derivative of Morse's 'English Rancher.'

or like, late-night-weather-break music, circa 1991, haha... no, it's waaay cooler than-even-that, obviously~
