And I was wondering about running a 14 '' wide on a 15'' wide rim. This answered my concerns !
I like to pet the cat backwards sometimes myself🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️😝😝😝
Hay to help out with stretch get 5 2x4s measured rim width your 14 inch put them between the two beads set out in sun 1/2 hours bring up to heat remove 2x4s. Might help with stretch. I don't know about drag tires but oval tires works good that's how we get our stagger mounting different widths
Fuck I wish I could go to Florida to see y'all. I look forward to watching your channel everyday. Hopefully the NPK bug bites you and y'all come to the final race of the season in Texas. I'm sure you have a ton of Texans that watch your channel and would love to see y'all there too. Thanks for the daily video's that everyone enjoys watching. #LSNastyFordToTheFront #LSNasty
Good video guys keep up let go
That “easy side “ is called the drop center of the wheel.
Matt, the Speed Prophet. stone cold
Been running 33x10.5W's on 16x16s forever. We run tubes as well to stiffen the sidewall. I will be interested in how the separation works with the slick. Stretched, I bet it will work well. Not sure you can "over hook" that little tire! Good luck and be safe.
Well in Ohio Justin was running sub 4s pass every hit he made that should tell you how the track was and Palm Beach will be better!
Let’s Go LSNasty racing to the front…,
We always bring a couple sets of different rims with tires depending on track prep
Just put tubs in the Blacksheep and run big tires and you can get those sub 1 second 60 foots John!
I think he’s afraid of the big tire game.
10.5W slicks and the cars that run them are very similar to a radial car..... Just letting you know they now have a class dedicated for Radial racing on Rocky Mountain Race Week and I think it would be awesome as hell if when the Colorado is done you took it on atleast Rocky Mountain Race Week or if you did all of them like Cleetus is doing with Mullet and since most people who go fast on those events except for a few if you did it with a stage 3 TKM built Black Sheep engine but except for turbos do it with a big crank driven Procharger and instead of 427cid go with solid roller and 454cid LSX block so you have all the strength of the 6 bolt iron block and you can run water in it and run it on E85 on the street but M1 to make a pass with it and put all the sensors that you can on it so you can monitor everything
Good luck tomorrow
If it works , Hero ! If not so what . Got the the Balls to tried something different . Ask the guy who rubbed two sticks together to make fire !
Hell yea another awesome ls nasty video. Also is something up with your shipping? It's been 3 weeks since my 2nd mystery box order and it's still not here.
Thanks guys!
I run my 28x10.5x15 on a 13" wide Sanders double beadlock very easy to mount compared to those Billet specialties
Guess I should have looked to see if someone already said that !!
Y’all still gonna be there in west palm on Saturday?
No. He said something came up
Love the sheep but need to get slick Rick ready to go to NPK my opinion
Won't you loose all the elastic twist that comes with running a slick..what do you think Matt ...
I may be old school but it's easier to tune chassis on a slick..I saw the other day Hercules nova runs a stiff side wall Hoosier 28x10 on the no prep and said it worked well.
Use a ratchet strap around the center of the tire and tighten it while putting air in and it forces the tire to seat on the bead
It's a double bead lock you cant
You know you early when the video still 360p
The John Doc way! Why listen to the experts
If they need an expert in love songs to get your sister all hot and bothered, I'm sure they'll ask you.
Need to polish them things
Allowing the sidewall of tire to function will help matters.
I think a 12inch wide rim should be your next purchase.
Where is Slick Rick?
Why don't you run the 29x10.5 John?
Is the tire a 10.5 W ???
It’s the drop center and you mount it on the shorter drop center
Matt says bring some talcum powder it's going to be hot
you made the tire shorter by mounting it on a wider wheel
How do you put a 275 radial pro on a 14 inch tire? Just kidding i know you meant rim, had to say it though😎😎
You need to use owl shit to mount the tires, because everyone knows that ain't nothin slicker'n owl shit.
I got a my 10.5 on a 13 rim
You shouldn't stretch a slick like you do with the radials if you do you should only stretch it like maybe an inch and a half so for a 10.5 slick put it on a 12in rim but slicks are way different than radials I've only been mainly around drag cars with slicks including a small tire, small block car and a big tire, big block car that my dad and I have built and raced for years together and with slicks you want a middle of the road amount of air pressure so if the tire says maximum of 20psi put 8-10psi depending on track temp because the hotter it is outside and the hotter the track temp the psi in the tire will go up even if you're just sitting in the lanes and you don't have any shade and after you make a pass you'll have more air pressure after the pass then you had before you made that pass.... Yes you can use limiters for the front with slicks so the front end doesn't come up too fast or so the car doesn't do a huge wheelie but you want the most squat you can get away with without looking at the moon and you want mediocre tire pressure so the tire car wrinkle and bite the track to give you some traction and make sure you have your Davis Technologies VPS set and traction control set and have your 4 link set right and your coilovers front and back set you should do fine my best advice would be tire hit up Jason Harris and ask him for tips and hints for going fast on slicks
I CANNNOT WAIT BRO I WANT THAT MFER ON BIG TIRES OR SLICK RICK 481XBIG TIREEEEEEEEEEEE procharged BBC colorado>? cmon john L/S NASTY SBF NASTY
Maybe I'm the only one, but I thought those tires worked like shit without a tube in them
I really think 11inch should be limit
When they say no prep, it’s means they did nothing to prep the track before racing, scraping the track would be considered prepping the track, am I right? In other words they leave the track exactly how it was after the last event, so if someone went a 3.60 last event, and the prep was reallly good, it’s probably not goin to be much different for the “no prep” event.
The 90s called and want there stretched tire wheel combo back
Why put this off on Matt, you must dislike him
Best of luck with kind of an odd setup.
Where is Ben???
1st
That wide of rim on a 10.5 is killing the functionality of the tire.
