Phenomenal Torah knowledge, Yiras Shomayim, humility, truth and wisdom is what comes through again and again in all the Rav's talks. I can't get enough.

Another example of how prescient the Rav was.

It is the great tragedy of Modern Orthodoxy that we did not have the Rav to prevent or at least slow down the process whereby Modern Orthodoxy made the Jewish people and the State of Israel its ultimate concern and God was reduced to serving the interests of the Jewish people and Israel, which took on the attributes to God, incapable of doing wrong. הצור תמים פועלו

He did not imagine what the Reform and the Women of the Wall would do at the Kosel. He must be turning in his grave!

Many thanks. An oft-quoted statement of the Rov is that however dear to the Jewish people is the recapture of the Kotel, if the sacrifice to have been made would be the life of one soldier, that price would be too high and unjustified. Is there a recording of this quote? To the heart of the matter, the 6 Day War was clearly a Milhemet Mitzva to defend the entire Jewish population in Israel and as such all of the fallen soldiers died fulfilling this mitzva as opposed to the Rov’s hypothetical scenario not grounded in reality.

The Rav was correct as always. But the experience of giving away Gush Katif has taught two things. One, that giving away part of Israel does not bring peace or security. Two, that creating a 33rd Muslim state in Yehudah and Shomron may be a fatal blow to the State of Israel. I’m sure today he would agree with that military , political and religious assessment.

With respect, if you listen carefully to the Rav's - carefully spoken - words, you will note that he deliberately expresses an opinion of having no opinion on extended territories.
He considers security/political issues a matter for generals and political leaders.
He celebrates and expresses thanks to All-Mighty for us having access to the holy Wall.
The wisdom of this Torah giant stands untarnished.
