Coming from an OU grad and fan, this is the most dominating performance I've ever witnessed in any non-combat sport. He was robbed of the Heisman. That award is supposed to go to the best player in cfb, not the quarterback/running back for the #1 or #2 team. Suh was clearly the best player that year.
As a Longhorn fan, this defense was scary. they meant business, no jumping around or celebrating. They'd destroy the the ball carrier and get back to the line.
The guy deserves the Heisman without question. He is hands down the best player in the nation. And this is coming from someone who's a big fan of Bama/Ingram.
@@evanfaust8672 I saw the replay live. The ump whistled game over but got overruled by texass money. Gett'in tired of being smoked by them Sooners yet?
I been a Texas fan since 1962. Seen many a game. Suh's performance against Texas in the Big 12 championship game was the greatest defensive performance I ever saw from a defensive lineman. Texas was very lucky to win that game and I for one am glad that texas won't have to face Suh ever again.
The Nebraska offense was total crap that year and Texas still only managed a last second victory, it just shows how dominant Suh and that defense were, he was shedding off 300 lb OL's with one arm and making tackles with the other, unreal strength, I don't think we'll ever see a defensive performance as dominating as this ever
SXI96 totally agree with you bro,it was in Texas,so of course who had to win? and Suh was such a dominating forch, him and Jared Crick. I wish I was there,I did watch it though
i love it when a great player has that perfect crowd name. we had a guy, last name Moose i think it was, for Oregon some years ago. he'd make a great play and the Autzun just goes "mooooooooooooooose" love it.
I'm a big colt mccoy fan: I think this video is awesome - both the unique angle showing the "pocket" aspect of the game and the fact that Suh is a monster! he's really something else
I had no problem with Ingram winning the Heisman in 2009 but I'll never understand how McCoy finished higher than Suh after he got crushed by Nebraska and Oklahoma.
I was at that game, and up until the last second, I was having so much fun. Just listen to that crowd. Being there definitely ranks in my Top 5 experiences.
SSSUUUUHHHH! MAN I MISS HIM! IMAGINE HIM UNDER COACH FROST! I MISS HIM AND JARED CRICK,THE RED WRECKING CREW!! IF THE REFS WERENT PAID OFF, AND HUSKERS WON.I REALLY THINK WITH ALL THE TALENT WE HAD ON THAT TEAM, WOULD OF MADE A GREAT RUN,POSSIBLE CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! SERIOUSLY,THAT HAD TO BE THE MOST HEARTBREAKING LOSS FOR OUR BOYS AND HUSKER NATION! ANYWAYS LOVE COACH FROST BEING HERE, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE O AND 2. I AM PROUD TO BE HUSKER FAN, CAUSE I KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN FOR MAYBE ANOTHER COUPLE YEARS, BUT IT MAY BE ALOT SOONER THEN WE THINK! ADRIAN MARTINEZ IF HE STAYS HEALTHY, WILL REALLY BE SOMETHING. AND WE HAVE SOME GREAT TALENT IN OTHER AREAS TOO.ANYWAYS, G.B.R.!!
I managed to snag tickets to this game my senior year at UT. My buddies and I drove up to Dallas thinking we were going to romp Nebraska. I just remember becoming more and more frustrated as Texas' drives continued to smash into the brick wall that was Nebraska's defensive line. It seemed like every damn play ended with the Nebraska corner of the stadium chanting, "SUUUUUHHHH!". I genuinely thought Suh was going to singlehandedly win Nebraska the game and couldn't help but wonder, "How the hell did this guy only finish fourth in Heisman voting?". But hey, Texas still won, so there's always that.
I like the second play a lot -- the one where he hurries McCoy to the sideline (ball snap at 0:24). Watch McCoy's and Suh's helmets change direction at the same instant -- maybe within just a couple frames of video -- when McCoy starts to scramble. That's an excellent read on the QB. Plus, Suh's got the good sense to not bump McCoy too hard, then help him up, once he got out of bounds (plus, McCoy was enough of a sportsman to not complain to the ref about hoping for a late hit flag).
this mammoth knows how to wrap up and tackle. i hope the rams go with a QB and suh drops to the bucs. we haven't had a dominant DT in years and the gaines adams pick still burns
i saw this game. id never heard of suh until pregame. being in NY they dont televise very many husker games. in 30 yrs greatest def performance i ever seen. 1st play game they try and chop block him 15yd penalty. he drew 1 later and 2 more false starts. his game stats were comical considering he is interior lineman. to bad his team has high school offense. i never seen any1 shut down texas like that. not suprised at anything he will do in pros. hes a freak.
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama. 1500+ yards, 15 TD's Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford. 1700+ yards, 26 TD's Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska. 82 tackles, 12 sacks (4 vs. Texas), 1 int. I hope they get it right this time. SUH FOR HEISMAN!!!
65 tackles, 12 sacks, 10 passes defensed, and 3 blocked fg's from a weakside A-Gap defensive tackle position in a conference of tough O-linemen....incredible!
I was in Arlington there was almost 78 thousand have a Great pic of the score board with the total and a Texas fans with there hands in there faces ! one second my ASS ! we won that Game !
i love this Suh guy but i would like to see him going after bigger fish like Roethlisberger, Peterson, Jacobs ect. that would interesting to watch. I still think this guy is gonna be awesome.
In madden he is. In reality, he hasn't been an upper tier DT since 2006. He may have been the best defensive lineman in the league in 2006, but he has never been the same since the injury. I know, I'm an avid Bears fan. To be fair he had a couple good games at the end of the year. But Suh is going to be something else... the best since Sapp.
@BradenNeddermeyer Yes. Bo has said himself that our defense will be EVEN BETTER this coming season. I would be scared if Neb. were on our schedule...oh baby. I can't wait.
wo@dunnyb41 I agree with you, but at the same time, a lineman's job compared to a QB's job or a HB's job just doesn't compare. Those guys have to make decisions that have a higher risk/reward based upon who they throw to, when to scramble, and/or what hole they run through where as a lineman's sole task is to break through the offensive line and get the sack or hurry the QB with not much decision making involved. Plus, they just won't get the recognition since their job isn't as flashy.
@machineunit Which is the inherent problem with the Heisman. It only goes to guys who touch the ball even when there are better players on Defense/Line. It's a shame but I guess that's just the way it is
Whatever team drafts this beast, I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I love Suh. I think he's about the best thing since peanut butter lol :D:D:D:D Me loves me some SUUUUUUH!!!!!!
If any d-lineman should've gotten the Heisman trophy this past season, it was Ndamukong Suh. I dare to say that he will be the next, if not better than Warren Sapp, Now thats sayin' something!
@ap4ISU People get the whole thing wrong. This was not a battle between Colt and Suh. This was a battle between Suh and the Texas offensive line. Suh won hands down. I am sure that Suh will be the better NFL player, but no matter how good a QB you are, you can't run or throw with a man in your face or on top of you. Texas had their own Suh one year ago, by the name of Arakpo. This year he was all-pro as a rookie. Look him up.
@inferno0517 well, i havent kept up with football outside of the SEC mostly for the past few years, but im gonna expand that to the whole NCAA that way i can have a better view of football in the years to come
@mrshartbreaker my point exactly, it's harder to go 14-0 obviously, especially beating 2 undefeated teams for your last 2 games, and i think the last 4 or 5 national champions in the same season. there are only 3 teams that have gone 14-0, Ohio State (I think it was Ohio State, could be wrong on that one), BSU, and ALABAMA, RTR
That 09 defense was best in the country if we had a good offense we win another national championship and we got screwed in this big 12 championship!!!
I don’t think so. The shoulder injury in the title game was a different deal. Obviously Colt got beat up a lot in this game but healed up well for the NC game but the Dareus hit was a new injury . going in to the national title game he was completely healthy aside from healing up from the punishment he took in the big 12 title game.
@freshtendrills Suh: 83 tackles, 23 for a loss, 12 sacks Darius: 30 tackles, 9 for a loss, and 6 sacks. Not quite sure Darius has the same size, motor and strength as Suh at this point in his college career.
The Heisman trophy is a JOKE!
StuUngar !# Amen
This dude got robbed of a heisman, college football may never see another tackle like him
Da Tube exactly
@Da Tube - I’m a Bama fan and was thrilled to see Ingram win the Heisman. That being said, Suh was the best player in college football that year.
As a Longhorn fan, this defense was scary. they meant business, no jumping around or celebrating. They'd destroy the the ball carrier and get back to the line.
SUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THAT SOUND
1:31 that play alone boosted his draft rank by 1000%
he never celebrates he just gets back in his stance and goes back to work.....a true superstar
The boogeyman checks under his bed for Ndamukong Suh.
Did the Texas coaching staff not look at film before this game?
The guy deserves the Heisman without question. He is hands down the best player in the nation. And this is coming from someone who's a big fan of Bama/Ingram.
I was at this game. Nebraska won. Extra play wasn't in rulebooks.
Lol I was there Butthurt Betty. The ball clearly hit the ground with one second left.
Texas Tacoma I agree. Def wasn’t a full second left. Should have been a final.
Very clearly there was one second left at least, maybe two.
@@evanfaust8672 I saw the replay live. The ump whistled game over but got overruled by texass money. Gett'in tired of being smoked by them Sooners yet?

where did this kind of defense go???
He should've won the Heisman that year. That was a once in a decade type season. More deserving than Mark Ingram that year, IMO.
Suh is a man among boys. Seen him in the NU VS OU game in Lincoln, What an intense DT Great to watch him play
I'm a big colt mccoy fan: I think this video is awesome - both the unique angle showing the "pocket" aspect of the game and the fact that Suh is a monster! he's really something else
Man was an absolute Truck. Beat Texas by himself.
the most impressive game i've ever seen out of a defensive player in a big time game
Husker defense was great that year if the offense would've been better they wouldn't have to worry about that 1 second .
I had no problem with Ingram winning the Heisman in 2009 but I'll never understand how McCoy finished higher than Suh after he got crushed by Nebraska and Oklahoma.
.....McCoy literally beat Oklahoma 3 out of his four years in college.....
And the one year OU did win against McCoy they won by 7. What crushing are you talking about?
Goosebumps! Listen to the crowd. SUH!!!! Heisman.... Unbelievable!
I was at that game, and up until the last second, I was having so much fun. Just listen to that crowd. Being there definitely ranks in my Top 5 experiences.
best defensive performance I have ever seen at any level of football hands down
Ever been to a game? It's intense. There weren't even as many people at this game (in Arlington, near Dallas) as there are at home Cornhusker games.
SSSUUUUHHHH! MAN I MISS HIM! IMAGINE HIM UNDER COACH FROST! I MISS HIM AND JARED CRICK,THE RED WRECKING CREW!! Texas won fair and square
How was Colt McCoy able to dislike this video 4 times?
SUUUUH! He is a BEAST!
reminds me of John Randle but without all the craziness lol he is going to be a beast in the NFL
SUHHHHHHHHH!!!! I hope and I KNOW this chant continues for a long time!!
I managed to snag tickets to this game my senior year at UT. My buddies and I drove up to Dallas thinking we were going to romp Nebraska. Texas didn't win, it was against Big 12 rule books, the refs got fired
I was at that game, I know
I wonder what it's like to have a whole crowd chant your name in unison.... must feel fuckin fantastic.
hahaha I could watch these highlights all day, especially when Colt gets thrown to the turf like a little girl. Suh for Heisman!!!
I like the second play a lot -- the one where he hurries McCoy to the sideline (ball snap at 0:24). McCoy was running for his life lol
this mammoth knows how to wrap up and tackle. i hope the rams go with a QB and suh drops to the bucs. we haven't had a dominant DT in years and the gaines adams pick still burns

Go Lions!!! Just bought my Suh jersey. Things are looking up in Motown!
I'm watching Colt right now with the Redskins & the Patriots aren't even close to dishing out this much punishment.
I loved hearing the crowd yell "Suh" when he picked off Bradford
I LOVE that one arm grab at 1:01. Then he gives McCoy a little pat like "good try, but no way".
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama. 1500+ yards, 15 TD's
Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford. 1700+ yards, 26 TD's
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska.
82 tackles, 12 sacks (4 vs. Texas), 1 int.

I was in Arlington there was almost 78 thousand have a Great pic of the score board with the total and a Texas fans with there hands in there faces ! one second my ASS ! we won that Game !
I can't wait to hear Ford Field explode with loud cheers of "SUH!!!!"
The only way Texas could block him is by a chop block, which only two of them were called. He tossed Colt around like a rag doll.
Damn this guy is going to be an animal in the NFL.
Im a rams fan, I can't wait and see what King Kong Suh can do in the NFL
i love this Suh guy but i would like to see him going after bigger fish like Roethlisberger, Peterson, Jacobs ect. that would interesting to watch. I still think this guy is gonna be awesome.
I hope his greatness transcends into the NFL
Great camera angle for this vid. You can see how terrifying and stupid it is to go up against a monster, like in the horror movies.
Listen to that Texas crowd cheer for Suuuuuuuuh !

@chemicgod it was colt, the coach, the center and the o-line coach
Pellini coaches a mean D. They're gonna be damn good if they can get their offense going
@BradenNeddermeyer Yes. Bo has said himself that our defense will be EVEN BETTER this coming season. I would be scared if Neb. were on our schedule...oh baby. I can't wait.
no one in NFL can handle Suh.. and to think little college kids would even have a chance...... so sad...
i see him going to the lions....but i kno he will brign great things to tht team.
I would love to see Suh play for the Raiders. He's our kind of guy!

@DrunkenRonin McCoy had a heart attack while sitting near him for the heisman ceremony.
colt mccoy and his o line all diliked this lol
@Bah56 Seriously?! I hope they continue to pick that up because it sounds great when a whole stadium yells it. Plus it's just plain fun.
nebraska got hosed with that whole 1 second deal
Best player in the country last season PERIOD
That wouldn't surprise me @ all... & it's now the Friday after the game!
Wonder if mccoy still has nightmares and hears Suuuhhhh?!
After this game Colt could have gotten an endorsement deal selling band-aids
1:30 definately the best. this guy is a beast

all suh needs to do is stop the extra things after the play like the green bay incident and he is by far the best defensive tackle out there
I loooove that hit on 0:48
I've never seen a college defensive lineman that strong and dominant
HAHA McCoy was on his ass more than the 2nd string QB that day! My favorite is the one handed choke slam WHILE being held!!!

College ball needs a playoff system
Every time I see Suh chasing someone in this video, the only caption that comes to mind is: SUH HUUUUUNGRY!!!!
What position is he going to play? Is he heavy enough to play nose tackle, is he quick enough to pass rush in the NFL?
This kid is a specimen! Laurinaitis Will be able to roam free and make a lot of tackles
