    Very good work. Well thought out You read my mind on insul R - tech product. Very little heat transfer. Great thought on wrapping tanks as well. I would venture a guess, that The fiberglas under lay for noise, weather proofing, and lower wind resistance when driving was worth the aggrevation in the long run. Your care in building is far better than industry making money building them. Thanks for the video and commentary.

      Wrapping the tanks made a huge difference. 8 degree windchill and never had a tank freeze.

    I can't believe you got that to fit in your garage! What a pro! Very nice video BTW thank you!

    For the floor, I would have used 3/4 inch tongue and groove plywood instead of OSB. Plywood is lighter and no chance of toxic off-gassing from OSB. You and your crew are doing a great job!

      Your right. That would have been a better choice.

      @@HomeMeetsRoad I feel that. I'd definitely want to pick your brain more. I'm going in new with not much construction exp

    How are the panels that you put on the bottom of the frame holding up?

    • @HomeMeetsRoad
      @HomeMeetsRoad  3 года назад

      Really Well. They are surprisingly tough. If you can install them and give them the support they need, they work great!

    Did you use the same 2x3 studs you did in another on the walls for the floor?

    • @HomeMeetsRoad
      @HomeMeetsRoad  3 года назад +1

      Yes. If I did it again. I think I’d consider the metal studs and way less. The body of this trailer is really sturdy. I went overboard.

      @@HomeMeetsRoad Thank you so much! I'm actually using grade 8 bolts well spaced out to sister joists with 3M 5200 and creating bridges between each aluminum joist. I was using 2x4 southern yellow pine framing lumber, but with half lap joints. It was a real pain since ripping doesn't always get as even of a cut.

    MDF is NOT plywood, lighter & cheaper, but if gets wet, crumbles like a donut

      @HomeMeetsRoad  2 года назад +1

      Did I say MDF? I can’t remember… it’s been so long but I know for a fact I did not use MDF in anything on the built. MDF is great for speaker boxes, that’s about it.

      It looked like OSB. Which is very weatherproof. Ask a roofer if in doubt. Very good job

    Do you have to use 3/4 inch for the floor or could you use something a little thinner?

    • @HomeMeetsRoad
      @HomeMeetsRoad  2 года назад

      Depends on the support under it I suppose. 1/2 might give too much flex.

  • @jimbrooks8544

    Is there a reason you didn't spray form the inside of the trailer?

    • @HomeMeetsRoad
      @HomeMeetsRoad  4 года назад

      Cost of material, having to shave down the insulating foam after the fact, toxic, flammable, and weight. We stared using the foam sheets in the floor mainly so if the tank ever needed to be dropped, the foam sheet can be dropped as well. After that we just rolled with it.

    shouldnt the water tanks have been installed towards the front?

    • @HomeMeetsRoad
      @HomeMeetsRoad  2 года назад +2

      Depends on your weight distribution and where you can fit them.
