That's one h*ll of a project you took on! It'll be interesting to see the rebuild. Good editing and just the right length (time wise) IMHO. Hope you are somewhere warm :-)

Thank you Bob! I was worried the video would be a bit too long.

Wow, truly hard work... But, hey at the end of the day it is well well worthed, you have a better than brand new rig, and you'd be 100 percent personally satisfied. Congratulations, Sir. Truly respect your work ethics.

Unbelievable all the stuff under the floorboards. If it was suppose to be insulated then it's just as unbelievable that there was not more of it . . .

It’s crazy! I feel like there is no thought in the ‘construct’ or a better way to put it, maintenance. Things will break. The real question is, how easy is it to fix.

Just general experience from past jobs. None where RV specific. Don’t assume I know what I’m doing! 😂

in hindsight on this project , would you have dropped the belly pan? and what were your motivations for doing so at that time. i have a HR 24 getting a new floor, much like you did. can you give me your thoughts at that time as to what you hoped to accomplish? and would you do things differently second time around? thank you.

For our rig, the belly pan had to be dropped. There was too much damage and work needing to be done, mainly on the frame (rust prevention).
I went way overboard on the framing. If I did it again, I would try and go with aluminum framing instead of wood, better floorboards, no access panels in the floor (some access panels in the belly pan, somehow or make it so the belly pan can be dropped easily), AND my biggest regret is not doing a leak-down test on the entire RV, which means sealing it up, taking it out and wash it down. Better yet, take it to a semi wash.

@@HomeMeetsRoad this, along with your very honest comments in another video, make your channel a must - watch. hey, things dont turn out to plan .
the ramblers have a patch on the belly to drop the tanks. i thought your storage access a rather good idea, evidently it did not work to plan.
as for leaks, absolutely. this rambler will get pvc membrane glued over aluminum roof and tossing the ac units, they will leak...
it must be pointed out that the bulk of your work did accomplish what you sought it to do.

@@pugetlexus Thanks! Being on the road for four years (we changed rigs over a year ago), I realized that no one gets it right. I don’t care if you buy or build. You will either change rigs or make significant modifications. The real question is, did you learn and move forward or do you give up and return to sticks and bricks (not that anything is wrong with that). I learned a hard lesson, but it was still the proper rig because we love this lifestyle.
      Good luck with your project!
