@Omaba_Baba Ya the only way to really tell the difference in most cases is in person. Hopefully we can get some more cans down the road to add to the line up 👌 Thanks for your support man ! 😎👊🏻

Looks to me like the YHM Fat Cat may be the best use of funds. I’m pretty sure it’s the cheapest in the lineup. Sound suppression seems on par, flash reduction looked as good or better than others, and the shortest length seems like a big benefit.
I have the FC that fits perfectly into my 12" handguard and it looks and sounds amazing for minimal added overall length. Flash reduction is amazing. But at that price point something has to give, and that's back pressure. It definitely isn't a flow silencer, but that's what adjustable gas blocks are for. I love it!
@cbrooks2767 Good point man. And yes, a good adjustable gas systems can do a significant job at tuning up a can. I love my Rifle Speed Gas System as well as my adjustable BCGs.
@BigJDinSC mine is a 11.5 inch barrel inside a 12" Aero handguard. Wish I could upload a pic to show the narrow part of the silencer in the handguard. Only the fat part shows and is the same size as the outer diameter of the handguard. Just beautiful!
Love my Sierra 5 on my 13.9, now I’m looking at the HRT or Dual Lok 5 for my 10.3. Thinking me going with the Sierra 5 despite the claims was a great decision according to your tests.
I know there were some QC issues with some of the Sierra 5’s but mine is running great. I’m glad you got a good one and it’s working well for you. If I was going to buy either the HRT or the Dual Lok 5 then I’d do with the Dual Lok 5. It simply impressed me a little more over the HRT, especially on backpressure.
@cdsmit27 I really don’t know. I never had any issues with my Sierra. I’m not sure if it was a portion of those cans that were messed up or if all of them were supposed to be out of spec.
It seemed the Surefire Socom 556 had a lot of blow back compared to most of the others where the Dual-Lok 5 looked to have the least. It also seemed to me that the YHM cans both had a bit of a higher pitch over the rest that had a lower tone, granted they are the smaller cans. 5.56 is just hard to make quit and any sound reduction is a good thing. I do not have a dedicated 5.56 can, I run a 30 cal Sandman S and a Dual-Loc 7 on my 11.5 and 16 in 5.56 guns and both in my mind sound good with less blowback. Good vid and thanks for making it.
That’s some really great observations. You are absolutely right that 5.56 is hard to suppress. It’s pretty amazing that any of these cans sound as good as they do. Thanks for the feedback man, that was good 😎👊🏻
Fat cat and t3 sound the best to me. I have a t2 and everytime I go to the range, I always get comments on how my can is quieter than everyone else’s. Really good flash suppression to - I shoot religiously under nods with it
I'm a huge fan of YHM Cans in general. It's hard to hear a huge difference. In super impressed with Fat Cat . I love short FAT Cans. I'm not a fan of Cans longer than 5.5" . I use BRT EZ Tune Tubes . 0.073 is my gold standard size for 13.x" - 14.5 " Mid Lengths . Awesome video bro
Between me and my friends we have a LOT of cans. In my experience the Dual-lok5 and the sierra 5 are very close with the DL5 edging it out in sound. The DL5 has significantly less backpressure than the S5. The HRT and S5 are very close all around for sound, flash, and BP. However, I prefer the HRT tone. The Fat can is impressive for it's size and small cans inherently have less backpressure, but on shorter guns it's noticeably louder. The KGM or w/e my buddy got super cheap and I understand why they were blowing them out. Not a favorite at all. No experience with the t3. The new turbo k takes the bite off, but I would suggest a polonium k or recce5k instead. The RC2 is still pretty amazing even if a little loud now days (still only a few db). Cat is doing interesting things. The velos is also a great can. The LPM torch is good too. I would like to see some .30 cal reviews. Can do a lot of content with a .30 can. How they sound on 556, 300 supers/subs, .308, and even more niche stuff ammo. A review of the Anthem S2, CAT ODB, HRT7 would rock. Also interested in the recce5k, cat wb, and polo k. I hear rumors some companies not know for 3d printed flow through are designing some cool stuff. Though that may be a way out as I know they do a LOT of testing before putting traditional cans to market so I know a new technology will take them longer to get to where they are comfortable.
Another great video. I bought a suppressor. Then I quickly purchased 4 more. It’s addictive AF. My favorite so far is the Otter Creek OCM5 shot on 18” SPR and 12” Gordon. Not sure what my next cam will be.
I’m looking to get a can but only have YT video experience of them. Seems a lot of people are agreeing the fat cat is worth the money. Would it be sensible to also use on a .17 HMR?
I haven’t gotten any more Replicator cans in. For the price, the KGM R556 would be a good choice. The one big downside of the KGM is that you are tied to their muzzle devices.
The dead air sierra 5 xeno is heating safe on 7.5” 5.56 it is supper quite it’s louder on 16” it’s crazy it’s the perfect 7.5” suppressor I have tested
My winners, Fat cat, YHM Turbo T3, and Dead Air Sierra 5 all seemed to be really good at all applications which is what Id want. Having many AR platforms for use I could get any one of these 3 to do the job
I know it’s hard to judge sound levels in a video, but to me, the Fat Cat seemed the quietest of all the guns w/ suppressors tested. You mentioned it would typically be the loudest with a shorter barrel and that you’d never shoot it without hearing protection, but it really stood out as the quietest in this demonstration IMO.
I have a Sierra 5 and an Rc2. (Have not had any of the reported issues some people had with their Sierra5)The Sierra5 is super comfortable to shoot without ear pro. It’s definitely quieter than my RC2. I love them both but the S5 is quieter/less pop for sure. Do a review on the Lazarus 6 please!
I put my personal 556 choices as this 1: CAT WB 718 inconel 2: griffin recce 5k 3: ocl polonium Best budget choice in my opinion is the Rex silentium mg7K
Great review. Thanks for the non suppressed shots before & after to establish that baseline we talked about. I'll be going back & listening again with headphones but with a standard speaker, I thought the Fat Cat & Sierra 5 both had higher pitches but seemed to sound quieter, which is a little odd to my ear as lower pitches generally sound better. The actual sound level of them just sounded lower. I liked those 2 & the Dual Lok 5 best. I have a Reece 5 in jail or I'd be giving all 3 serious consideration (the Fat Cat & Sierra 5 were previously on my short list). The Dual Lok 7 is currently on my short list for a dedicated.30cal option however. Love the lineup review & hope you put one together for .30cal & 9mm as I'm on the market for each, here in the very near future. I have my hybrid (R45) based on your review but a similar demo of some 36 or 46 cans would be great as well, understanding limitations of having all at the same time. Thanks again.
Well thank you for the suggestion for those bare muzzle shots. Great idea 💡 I’ll try and put together another 30 cal & 9mm suppressor lineup. I’ve gotten a couple new cans that I can add to my older line ups.
Recce was a hot peice when they were released and still a workhorse can today. I actually really like the griffin taper mount system, I learned to put hi temp anti seize on the threads but not the taper geometry and haven't had a can carbon lock OR back off under fire since.
I would like to get some good honest feedback on the AB Warthog in 5.56. That can has my interest big time. I’m on the hunt for my first suppressor. Now, in this video, the YHM Fat Cat really impressed. The tone seemed consistent throughout the video. YHM in general have been my go to for videos and really got me into buying a suppressor. They are affordable and offer a great value in the total package for a first time buyer. I also like the Otter Creek Labs Polonium cans. Do you have videos on the AB Warthog? Or the Polonium cans?
Man, I don’t have any AB cans or the Polonium. I’ve tried to get ahold of a Polonium but haven’t been able to yet. The whole AB suppressor lineup is very intriguing to me as well. Hopefully we’ll get those on here at some point.
@@CalebDowning where are you located? I have a few of the other cans (like CAT WB Ti, AB A-10, etc) that people are asking about. I have a small 07/02 SOT hobby business and keep new stuff on hand for demos. Hit me up if you want (Longbow Arms Clarksville, TN).
@brandonstorey99 I’m up in Alaska 🏔️ I’ve got the same 07/02 so transfers would be simple enough. Let me see if I can get ahold of them from the companies but if I can’t then I may hit you up. Thanks man! 😎👊🏻
I really like suppressing 9mm so if I was to only have one YHM can then it’d probably be the R9. For 5.56/223 it’d be a toss between the T3 and Fat Cat with the Fat Cat probably being the favorite of those two.
I’d say the T3 and Fat Cat are pretty similar on blowback. Both have YHM’s updated baffles. I think it’d come down to style and if you need a shorter can vs a traditional diameter can.
@@CalebDowning thank you! It's my first can. A buddy of mine has a couple SureFires and after experiencing them, getting one went from a want to a need. haha
@@CalebDowningseverely might be an understatement 😂 I wasn’t thinking about getting one but seeing this video and researching the price has me rethinking my priorities
I don’t have any experience with that one 🤔 I’d imaging it would be a good option if you were going to pin/weld it for a 16” gun. Not sure on how it performs though.
It is popular. My buddy has one for work and isn’t impressed. After talking with him about it, it really put a damper on my urge to get one. Someday though…
@@CalebDowning the flow556k is VERY boomy. I have a lot of these cans and between me and my friend group we have a ton. I would only suggest the flow556k on stuff that is impossible to tune like a AUG or x-95. Hux atm is still the only company with a true no backpressure (or sometimes negative backpressure). However, like anything that has it's tradeoffs.
@Jeremy-eh2qi Thanks for that data man. That makes a lot of sense about the trade offs. I suppose the HUX cans are more like super advanced blast forwarders to some degree… would you say that’s a fair assessment?
The Dead Air Sierra 5 and Griffin Dual Lok sound the best. Never heard of the Sierra 5 being reduced back pressure other than its shorter with less baffles. We know the Surefire RC3 is a joke so please skip that and go with the CAT WB, Dead Air Lazarus 6, Radical Defense LS5,.
I agree with all of this. I. like the Fat Cat, fat volume makes for nice tone. Stop using the term "flow through" that is only for HuxWrx. Low Back Pressure is the industry term for the hybrid cans that have low back pressure attributes. Sierra 5 is NOT LBP.. it's just DA 1st 5.56 dedicated can. The Lazarus from DA is LBP. Price to performance, I know you don't have one, but everyone here.. Don't forget about he Polonium, I have a full size Polo and it is absolutely amazing for the price and backed with the best warranty in the system! OCL is the way!
@@CalebDowning its an amazing can and so is the K version. The tone is awesome, and ive moved mine around on multiple .223, .243 platforms (6mm bore so gives you a little more options) it performs so well.
I know we were listening through the camera , the sound was very similar , I was surprised by the Fat Cat , was as quiet as the other cans , first suppressor blew a huge flame 🔥 💥💥🔫 thanks from Commy Ct.🇺🇸
To me I could tell a diff in the the Dead Air Sierra-5 and the Fat Cat short fatty was the quietest…. My 2 cents currently I own the Surefire -rc2, the 46 hybrid, the omega 36, obsidian-9 a Dead Air Nonad Ti looking to maybe get 5 more and call it quits…. So yes the dead air sierra 5 and the yhm fat cat
@@CalebDowning The only reason I bought the Surefire rc-2 is I have a scar 17 who says if I don’t use “that” suppressor that they will terminate my warranty 😂🤷♂️🤔 and it comes with 2 settings on the gas block suppressed and unsupressed so confused so I spent a lot just for that 1 can again it’s socom so I can use it for full auto fire at best…. Personally, I wasn't as much a fan of the Griffin or Surefire cans. Don't get me wrong each suppressor appealed differently based on configuration, but I just didn't necessarily appreciate the tone of either of those brands on most firearms tested. I am a SOT as well, so I have quite a few cans of my own and shot more than a few brands already. I have at least 6 different brand of cans in varying calibers, but no rush for those I mentioned. I do have two of those KGM cans in stock and will be testing one on a SIG Virtus 5.56 SBR as that thing is a gas hog, unbearable with a AB Warthog 5.56 can, it sounds great but you will be choking to death. If I was picking from this lineup, I would just say get a YHM they work, although I am a fan of B&T products but I'm biased as they are local for me (Tampa, FL).
That’s pretty telling that you, an SOT with plenty of access to cans, would pick YHM. They are hard to beat, all things considered. I’d love to hear back from you after you shoot that KGM can. It was noticeably less gassy on all my hosts.
@@CalebDowning I agree! Going to a shop next week that lets you test them out before purchase next week hopefully I figure out what fits my rifle the best

@@CalebDowning that would be awesome! I hope you can get them soon. Thanks.
Thanks man! 😎👊🏻
@@DownRange556waiting to go certify my Ab warthog this weekend
I have the YHM T3,R9 and I’ve seen enough and the ‘fat cat’ is next. YHM is priced right and a great product !! Great video !!
I think that Fat Cat is such a hit, they need to develop a 30 cal version. I know they have tried but they need to finish it 🤞
Thanks man! 😎👊🏻
Of the YHM cans you have what is your fav and why
I’m lookin at the T3 but have heard great things about the turbo K too
I really like suppressing 9mm so if I was to only have one YHM can then it’d probably be the R9. For 5.56/223 it’d be a toss between the T3 and Fat Cat with the Fat Cat probably being the favorite of those two.
@@CalebDowning thanks for response, and which one had less blow back?
I’d say the T3 and Fat Cat are pretty similar on blowback. Both have YHM’s updated baffles. I think it’d come down to style and if you need a shorter can vs a traditional diameter can.
I pulled the trigger on the HRT 556, it should be here in another week and a half to two weeks. I cannot wait!
Excellent 😎👌
I’d love to hear what you think about it when it comes in.
@@CalebDowning thank you! It's my first can. A buddy of mine has a couple SureFires and after experiencing them, getting one went from a want to a need. haha
Call me crazy but the yankee hill stuff performed the best
Not crazy at all. YHM is severely underrated.
@@CalebDowningseverely might be an understatement 😂 I wasn’t thinking about getting one but seeing this video and researching the price has me rethinking my priorities
Yes indeed
Ik the gp5 isnt on here, but is it good? I wanna kno before I buy it
I don’t have any experience with that one 🤔 I’d imaging it would be a good option if you were going to pin/weld it for a 16” gun. Not sure on how it performs though.
@@CalebDowning damn and ok
My Fat Cat on a 14.5 is basically the same length as my 11.5 with SOCOM RC. I've been digging the Fat Cat.
It’s a winner man, it seems that everyone who uses it is surprised and satisfied with how well it performs.
what about the Griffin Armament Explorr and Abyss 556
Ooo, both of those look interesting but I’ve never had the chance to use them 🤔
Could my old metal Airsoft rail and pistol grip on a real ar play form?
This makes me even more sad that I didn't have the money to buy the KGM R556 when it was on sale for $350. And now they are GONE!
They are gone now? Dang that was a really great deal 🤦♂️ Who knows, maybe they’ll come back 🤞
@@CalebDowning not likely at that price
@ecobasetech4558 Ya, unfortunately 😏
Gotta love 20" with a can
Absolutely 👍
That fat cat is kinda remarkable compared to the turbo k
The kgm was noticeably louder.
no huxworx flow 556? thas easily one of the most popular cans right now
It is popular. My buddy has one for work and isn’t impressed. After talking with him about it, it really put a damper on my urge to get one. Someday though…
HUXWRX Flow 556 Ti is one of the best purchases I have ever made.
I still need to get something from Huxwrx. Keep hearing good things about them 🤔
@@CalebDowning the flow556k is VERY boomy.
Both of those are solid performers. Man I’d like to get my hands on those three you mentioned. Perhaps we’ll make it happen 🤔🤞
@joelsmith4690 I keep hearing about the Polonium… that one is absolutely on my short list for the next 5.56 can.
@@CalebDowning its an amazing can and so is the K version. The tone is awesome, and ive moved mine around on multiple .223, .243 platforms (6mm bore so gives you a little more options) it performs so well.
@joelsmith4690 excellent 👌
Very impressed with the Fat Cats sound. I’d say just slightly better than the T3. I would love to hear these against the new PTR Foam suppressors…
I haven’t seen much on that PTR Suppressor 🤔 I’ll have to check it out.
@@CalebDowning the sound from a 9mm MP5 with the PTR is similar to a movie lazer gun 🤩
@Camflyer15 nice 😎👌
I know we were listening through the camera , the sound was very similar , I was surprised by the Fat Cat , was as quiet as the other cans , first suppressor blew a huge flame 🔥 💥💥🔫 thanks from Commy Ct.🇺🇸
😎👊🏻
Dual lok so good
That Fat Cat is impressive.
Should have added an AB Warthog 556, best bang for your buck suppressor on the market.
The price of some of these is absolutely shocking. Does no one own a lathe anymore?
I know right 😅
Can’t speak for most of these but I love my turbo k
That’s a solid player 💪
I wonder if that Fat Cat sound as good in real life as it does in this video, amazing for it's size.
It sounds surprisingly good to me 👍
I have the t3 but that fat cat is one impressive can for the size
For sure 👌
To me I could tell a diff in the the Dead Air Sierra-5 and the Fat Cat short fatty was the quietest…. My 2 cents currently I own the Surefire -rc2, the 46 hybrid, the omega 36, obsidian-9 a Dead Air Nonad Ti looking to maybe get 5 more and call it quits…. So yes the dead air sierra 5 and the yhm fat cat
Both solid choices… I’d love to hear what you end up going with 🤔
@@CalebDowning The only reason I bought the Surefire rc-2 is I have a scar 17 who says if I don’t use “that” suppressor that they will terminate my warranty 😂🤷♂️🤔 and it comes with 2 settings on the gas block suppressed and unsupressed so confused so I spent a lot just for that 1 can again it’s socom so I can use it for full auto fire at best…. Great job on videos that was by far laid out and edited the best I’ve seen a can review! 👍💯
@krisskelton1241 Awesome man, thanks for the encouragement! 😎👊🏻
I wonder if FN will update that suppressor restriction with all these high flow cans coming out 🤔
@@CalebDowning Man we the consumer would expect them to but I doubt it very serious… I’m a huge gun collector so I do practice with some of my tools but I’ve got some guns I bought to keep brand new and see if the market will ever change and be worth a lot more money so say I’ve got 12 grand n a Scar 17 never been fired a Mp-5 Hecklor Koch the civilian m-249, 8 -1911 -45’s man that’s just few and one never fired a round out of em I play around with my m-4’s and bought me a Sako Hunter n 300 win mag but I use the silencerco hybrid 46 it’s crazy accurate and I do not understand how it’s that quit and takes at least 25-30 percent of the recoil away…. @krisskelton1241 Watching out for the next generation, that’s important stuff fur sure 👌
Surprised you didn't have the velos on here
Man, I wanted to. I just haven’t gotten one yet 😏
@CalebDowning I just got one havmt mounted it yet though. Picked it up and duel lok 5 at the local gun store.
@bartmaster2 Nice 👌
I’d love to see the Speed K! Fat Car vs Speed K comparison 🤷🏻♂️
Fat Cat
Interesting 🤔 I’ve never really looked into that can but it does seem very similar in concepts to the Fat Cat.
@@CalebDowning, yes sir! Double the price and heavier but they are making some bold claims 🤷🏻♂️
I like how in the first forty seconds you explain why we shouldn't watch the other 16 minutes.
Haha 😆 well hopefully it saved you 16 minutes of your time 🤷♂️
I think I was really impressed with the fat cat, can you do a follow up video with price point, please.
Like this? YHM Fat Cat - Review

I agree with several posters the fat cat won on the
