  • Hear this tune played with guitar rhythm backup (slow, medium, fast) starting at 15:00. Guitar chords are provided on-screen.
This is an instructional tutorial 5-string bluegrass banjo lesson teaching my version of the popular Bluegrass tune "Little Cabin Home On The Hill."
On this video I teach the tune lick by lick, phrase by phrase, using on-screen tablature, then I put it together -- slowly at first, then faster toward the end, adding rhythm guitar audio overlay and on-screen chord prompts.
Free downloadable tab sheets (PDF) and play-along tracks (MP3) for this and many other tunes are available at my website, www.littlerockbanjo.com.
    Hope you enjoy.

Split-screen is an excellent tool for teaching.

God bless you for your incredible service to aspiring banjo players everywhere. I learned dueling banjos in about 3 months, I thought it would take me 10 years when I first heard it. God love ya'

Bill,I'm a 75 year old veteran.I've seen many things,a lot of which was not pleasant.Your music is important,I get the message.Your keeping history of our country alive.I know your an artist not a politician.I'm learning the banjo from you.the message I'm getting is too powerful to ignore. It is the sound the people made 100'200 years gone by from their hearts. That is why it's so beautiful to me.Please keep your art going. It gives us hope, even to a bitter old veteran such as I

Hi from England, just wanted to say, this is by far the best banjo tutorial channel I've come across on RUclips. It's really got me into playing banjo, coming from a guitar background. So thanks. Also, could I make a request for a video/tab on flint hill special?
