Curly Seckler, Paul Warren on fiddle, Josh on resonator. Looks like Jake Tullock making that doghouse talk to you. And the boys singing. Notes from my late wife Shannon Burns. She has been gone now for 7 months. Seems like 7 eternities. My Shannon Marie I love you, for eternity. Your Denny. All I have left is memories and tears.
paul culver, you are so correct. I was copying from her notes and did not see an asterisk that made mention that it was Jake not Howard in this video. She left this Earth 8 months ago for a better home in heaven. God bless you for pointing out my error. God bless everyone who ever read anything she wrote. I love and miss my Shannon Burns. Your Denny.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Wouldnt want to imagine it. Ol jake sure is making that doghouse talk in this video too you're right. And Josh do bluesy with that hound dog
+KevinBorgOfDeath Absolutely could and did. Very rarely sang lead, but was highly capable as a background singer, as seen in his work with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys in 1945-1948 and with Lester Flatt and the Foggy Mountain Boys 1948-1969. He concentrated on blending, so you can hear the baritone note he is singing, although it's hard to pick out the sound of his voice.
No others will ever capture that sound or even that look. True perfection.
Bull watch Billy strings and his dad cover it😊
Great memories of wonderful artists!
Nobody does it better than flatt and scruggs

Did your wife write songs?
Butterball Adderley, I have not found any yet. A library full of notes is all I have been able to find. And tears.
I'm sorry to hear that Mr, hope your doing well hang in there and a merry Christmas to you!

Was surprised to hear how much slower the tempo is compared to more modern versions of this tune. Nice change of pace.
Uncle Josh wearing out that old hound dog guitar. This is top shelf. Just can't be beat.
Perfection on every level. Need to get back to America. Stuck in England waiting to get back over there !
1st Class all the way.👌🎖
Poland small village, thank you for man who add it. Thank you.
I grew up watching these guys. They were so good. Just like water flowing over a rock. (I mean that in a good way). 👍
Love this old school

Pure masters of their voices , and their instruments. No auto tune like todays music, nothing but pure music .
This was my favorite by Bill Monroe. Great version here by these 2!
Bluegrass at its best. Earl in his prime.no one could equal him
Perfection

Awesome
Very appetizing
Believe it or not I used to work with the guy on the mandolin years after this he was drunk up but a hell of a picker
F & S are great. Great bluegrass.
Slow tempo is the original tempo ,because Lester wrote this song.
Dang! They didn't let Curly take his mandolin break!
looks like a pack of Winstons in josh's pocket
Little cabin home on the hill!
Take me home, "kentucky?"
I’m 31 and love this music but I also take acid lol
Com'on Man!! This is great music. A better version is Jim & Jesse.
Hey me too but I'm old now
This is the best stuff to wake and bake to. Bluegrass and acid go we together. Grateful dead.
I also like such endeavors but good music is good music
C'EST L. FLATT!

Someone has taken you "from me?"
How many people are here because of the "American Hollow" documentary about an Appalachian family?
This and Ska is what heaven will sound like. Believe It. Fuck Scrggs could sing, too!

Could Earl Scruggs sing?

Earl was the first baritone singer in bluegrass harmony singing.
