    Is the kick supposed to be a whip like action or straight legs up and down?

    When I'm in the superman position without the kickboard I can move some distance with the flutter kick. I however start slowly sinking as I move forward till my fingers touch the pool bottom. I've seen others do same while remaining afloat. Any explanation for this?

      Make sure your head is in a neutral position, looking down at the pool bottom, not forward. Lifting your head can cause your hips and legs to sink. Ensure your flutter kick is coming from your hips, not your knees. Small, fast kicks with relaxed ankles are more efficient than big, slow kicks.

      @@RocketSwimming My legs and feet are not sinking. I go down fingers first like a submarine diving. My feet are still kicking perfectly well while this is happening. Like I said I'm still moving forward.

      @@tascolino538 Here are a few tips that might help you maintain a more level position in the water:
      Head Position: Keep your head in a neutral position. Look down at the bottom of the pool rather than forward. This helps keep your body aligned.
      Core Engagement: Engage your core muscles to keep your body straight. Think about maintaining a slight tension in your abdomen to avoid arching your back.
      Kicking Technique: Although you mentioned your feet are kicking perfectly, make sure your kicks are small and continuous. Big, splashy kicks can disrupt your balance.
      Body Roll: Incorporate a slight roll in your body as you swim, which can help distribute your weight more evenly.
      Practicing drills like swimming with a kickboard or focusing on body balance drills can also be beneficial.

    I did all this but my problem is i dont feel like am moving at all... am just kicking in the same spot

      One tip I can give you is keep your feet floppy and not flexed.

    I can do this but my legs get tired before I can make it across the pool. I like it better when my head is in the water.

    Can you address pull buoy.. I just can’t swim with it and my legs need to work less ! Using pull and drag legs now with minimal kicking !

      Pull buoy will slow down your stroke so you can focus on other aspects of the stroke like pulls. I suggest you to practice with the kickboard to build up your kicking strength and stamina. But for the freestyle, pulls are what MOVE you forward instead of your kicks. Minimal kicks with stronger pull is the correct way to swim freestyle.

    After few seconds my kickboard and body both bend

      Try not to get your head too high out of water.

    I can't do that. If I do that with my head up my legs sink and I'm almost vertical in the water.

      It sounds like you might need to adjust your body position. Try to keep your head in a neutral position, looking straight down or slightly forward, rather than lifting it too high. This should help keep your body more horizontal and improve your balance in the water.

      @@RocketSwimming I can kick if my head is so low my face is in the water. If my face is out the water I sink. I usually practice kicking without a kickboard. My hands out in front superman style. I have made progress on using a kickboard. Maybe one day I will be able to use one like everybody else does.

      @@greensleeves350 It's normal for your body to sink when your face is out of the water. It's how our body structure is. That is why I always ask swimmers to keep their face underwater and only come up to take the breath.
