please be sure to pay attention to the message at the beginning of the video, especially if you have already watched my yale acceptance reaction.
i didn't want to appear fake or ungrateful or anything like that, especially because i am ANYTHING but. i just wanted to share this video with you guys, for being so kind and supportive, and with my family in korea/around the country.
i'm so incredibly appreciative of everything in my life. and humbled. and in shock. i have a lot to think about. talk to u guys soon.

Congratulations!! That's amazing! Here's a tip for financial aid, from a Yale sophomore. If you want to get a better package, let both of the schools (or whichever one you want to go to more) know that you got into the other one and they will most likely give you a better package afterwards. They actually do this if it's a big competitor school. Good luck with your decision, and in the end, don't worry too much about the choice, you're set either way!
True, my cousin and brother did this and both got full rides from there chosen school

There is no meeting. Just an email to the admissions office does the job.

Maddi Pender each university, specifically IVY league universities vary their candidate standards year to year, to make it different from other universities. It’s basically universities testing out what type of students are better. So in application process, Harvard might look for more resilient people whereas oxford might look for more inclusive members.

Bright Olonilua you’re the idiot.Ivy League Universities divide into buckets that change every certain time. Buckets are groups of students, and they intend to vary students in different buckets, they don’t want the same people together. They have students with different nationalities, economic status, intelligence, etc...

With how smart and inspiring and amazing you are it would be unrealistic if they didn’t give you a scholarship.
The difficult thing about the ivys is that they only give out aid based on financial need, not purely merit, as pretty much all of the students who get into those schools are meritorious. Because of that, a lot really depends on which school offers the most aid.
I got into kindergarten, a very notable mile stone.

so just to start off; no. I did not commit to Yale yet the main reason for this is financial aid
Financial aid is a huge concern for my family and our financial situation so I had to consider all of my options, and eventually decided to keep my Harvard and Princeton applications
not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to make such a huge decision without first considering every option financially please be sensitive and aware of this situation
now without further ado, this is my reaction to those two decisions

my dad went there for business when he was getting his masters degree. he applied to two local canadian schools (as back-ups) and then harvard and harvard was the only one he got into. you never know what schools are looking for so congratulations!!! wishing you all the best 💗💗

It's funny this popped up into my recommended because I just saw a news article today about Harvard and apparently this year was the lowest acceptance rate for them EVER in history. They only accepted 4% of people that applied. That's so crazy!! You should be SOOOO proud of yourself. They really want you there!!

The whole thing with financial aid, my counselors in high school said that ivies seem expensive but most everybody doesn't have to pay much because of aid.

Thank you for emphasizing that part in the beginning. Even though I am in 7th grade I am still applying to many different expensive dance programs, private school and soon it'll be high school. People think that just because you get in you'll be okay and everything is unicorns and rainbows. When actually there's still tuition which is a big part of my family due to my family not fortunate enough to spend that much money on tuition and textbooks.
