It was a major wake up call, so I'm preparing for my junior year with the goal of a 3.8 GPA (at least) and being in the top 5% of my class. Good luck at Harvard, and great video!

This gives me a little hope. I have similar grades and extra curriculars and while it’s no guarantee that I’ll get in to the school I want, it still reassures me a bit
This is an compliment, good one . Don't take it negatively (I am saying this because some might take it negatively) You really look like a doll (as per your age)
I am a sophomore and I barely have time for the extracurricular activities I do, I am a volunteer at my schools college and career counseling center, I am the secretary of my philosophy club, member of FBLA/DECA, and am the captain of my rowing team at my school. Also I aid at my religious school as well!
I’m a freshman in high school and I’m taking all of the opportunities I can but we don’t have many AP classes or honor society kind of things so I’m not sure how to make my college applications look good when I need to. We also have required classes that they don’t offer honors or AP for that bring my GPA down. Right now it’s at a 4.3 but I think by senior year when I can take more APs (I’m taking one right now because it’s all they offer for freshman and I tested in) it might get to around a 4.4-5 at the highest. I also like to be involved in the musical which counts as a college prep class and is bringing my GPA down.
Hi Christine! I need some advice! (Sorry if this is long). Just for some background info, I'm going into my junior year, and I'm not striving for Ivies--I am, however, looking into top 25/top 50 schools in the U.S. I've gotten straight A's (including 2 or 3 A-'s) throughout freshman and sophomore year. Last year, I also took AP World and scored a 5 on the exam. I need some advice on my schedule next year--I'm planning on taking APUSH, APES, AP Stat, and DE Lang/Comp (I plan on taking the AP Lang exam). For electives, I am taking the Newspaper--I took it last year and became an editor this year--and I am doing Writing Center as a writing tutor. I did Spanish for 5 years, and am choosing not to go into AP. I'm wondering, should I tough it out and take AP Calc or stick with AP Stat (I chose it because I am taking a doubleblocked science and didn't want to be too stressed out). Also, does this schedule seem competitive? My extracurriculars are pretty strong--I play tennis, have a RUclips channel, participate in Marine Conservation Club, go to Sunday School, and I have two jobs (one as an unpaid volunteer). I also plan on starting a Bullet Journaling club next year and being in NHS. I just really want to get your opinion! Thank you so much!
Thanks for this much needed video! I’m a rising senior, and I couldn’t be more nervous and excited about college apps, choosing colleges, and ending high school on a good note!
Can you please do a time management video like how you schedule your day to be productive. Like fun stuff outside of school and how much time you spend studying/ doing hw.
Ok this is crazy, we have the exact same SAT and PSAT breakdown: 1550 750 R/W 800 M 21/24 essay and 1500 PSAT with 740 R/W 760 M 224 Index score, NMS, National AP Scholar too.... I'm shook tbh. Honestly I can't believe you took the risk of only applying to 5 colleges (the best ones in the nation lol) but it paid off and you got into Harvard and Yale! But when I first read your acceptances I was expecting another superhuman asian with national awards and published research but when you went through your application it gave me hope. You seem like a really genuine person who doesn't do activities just to impress colleges and probably your rec's talked about how nice you were. I want to go into finance/ economics and there aren't things like science fairs, summer programs, and research for that area so I didn't rlly do that stuff and recently I was really regretting not doing those impressive things that I didn't rlly care about, but it was really cool to see how being genuine can get you into dream schools too. But I'm still amazed that you only applied to 5 schools... I had a hard time narrowing it down to 27.... I know it might be a problem but idk lol. And like the same scores that is legit voodoo or smthg. Is it ok to write humble things in your essays? I kinda want to talk about how I love animals but I am worried colleges won't care as much as me talking about my career goals and intellectual interests.

nini, yeah of course. i’m glad you had a good day🌱
wtf spanish 4 honors as a freshmen LOL i took spanish 1 in 8th and now ima be a freshman and i’m taking spanish 1 again LOL
She probably ended up taking Spanish 4 as she did High school Spanish from the beginning of middle school
SAMEEEE
I passed Spanish 1 in seventh grade. YOO- 💀💀
I am taking Hon French in 9th grade 💀💀💀
this video called me dumb in 100 languages,,, finished off freshman year with a damn 3.3 lmao also I didn't know that counselors had to write a letter of recommendation, I've been to her office crying at least 4 times within the school year (our academic and emotional counselors are the same at my school) BIG YIKES
Omg I cried 5 times!
3.3 is good compared to me I finished my freshmen year with a 1.8
you’re the cutest i love u
This gives me a little hope. I have similar grades and extra curriculars and while it’s no guarantee that I’ll get in to the school I want, it still reassures me a bit
tayxtaex don’t get your hopes up, I had better stats and was rejected everywhere except one t20 :)
Hi my name is Cristina and I’m truly inspired by your videos, I’m my dream school is Harvard, you really inspire me to live up that dream :)
can you do an SAT tip video? congrats on everything, you deserve it!!
This is an compliment, good one . Don't take it negatively (I am saying this because some might take it negatively)
You really look like a doll (as per your age)
essays were definitely 🔥
We need more RUclipsrs like this ❤️ keep up the amazing work girl
I'm a freshman too lol
Colleges see what courses your school is offering and how well you are doing so if you take less AP classes due to the school... then that's ok
Please do a time management video!! Xx
Imagine being this smart
My mouth dropping after seeing her grades. AAA-AAAAA+AA+ whattttttttt
amazing video!! Thank you for the advice !!
If you’re allowed to can you please read the essay you wrote to get into Harvard please🥳💞😭😭😩
The first thing that drew my attention were those eyes... Oh my goodness, you have extremely lovely eyes!
omg if ur up for it plz make a time management video about how you schedule your days. I have alot of trouble w time management and any and all advice would be amazing!
i don’t normally comment but i love your videos! i’m a rising freshman in high school and your advice is really helpful!
I wish I could take honors classes. I’m a sophomore and I go to a charter school due to my sport. The honors and AP classes are on days that conflict with my schedule ;-;
okay so one question - how did you manage to take all those classes and doing all the extra stuff? i am shoook! how did you extend the day? please send me the tips haha. im not from us tho or other country that english is first language in, im from poland and i dont have time in school year! i only have time to do my homework, study for all of the subjects (keep in mind i dont have the same classes every day - each day i have something little bit different, in total i had like 14 or 15 classes last year). you're a hero to me! in fact, i think you are a superwoman! keep doing all the amazing things. big congratulations on getting into the ivys
I may have not been first,
I definitely won’t be last
But as soon as I saw this video
I sure as hell clicked fast !
thank you for making this!! love you christine🤩
Thank you so much for making this video, you are humble and such an inspiration.
I told my swim coach that my mom had surgery and could not drive me to practice (which is true) and that was the reason why I had missed 4 practices ( and they had tryouts the week before so it wasn't a big deal) and he said, "You have a shit ton of excuses, don't you." :/ nice
okay but editing goals?!!!
I'm in 8th grade..... but I'll take the advice :)
Honestly if I didn't have PE I could get all A's but unfortunately I'll never keep an A in PE because I'm just not athletic 😭
Wut? I'm not that athletic but I still got a A, you basically just show up everyday and just play.
So your super smart basically. Can u talk about how u chose your majors and what u wanna do with them?
I have been a varsity cross country captain since middle school throughout highschool, and i also took ap/honors classes alot, my elective would be business
did you get into one of your dream schools?
why is she perfect
yay earlyyy !!! love you christine !!!
I hope I get into this really selective high school, I have mostly A’s 2 A+, one A-, and unfortunately one B+. With my grades throughout my 7th and 8th grade years I am confident I will be excepted. My overall average in 7th grade was a 96.78% an overall A. Finally my 8th grade overall average is a 95.12%. I hope I get into that high school and any other schools that follow :)
you're so lucky. i get mostly c's and i'm going into 11th grade and i try so hard ):
@@okaypearl oh wow ur a senior noww?
how's highschool going?
@@aurora-cc6hk i live in australia and i'm class of '21 so if i was living in the usa, i would be a senior :) still in 11th though and my grades have actually improved! i will be starting 12th grade next january.
I'm a rising senior! Schools starts soon and this is super helpful. Thanks so much! You're truly an inspiration :)
Thanks so much for the tips for high school in this video! They are really helpful 💗😁😁
I'm going to 12th grade this year and I am very nervous and excited. It's scary because I dont know what college I'm going to get accepted into , the classes I'm taking as well as where I want to go to college . But overall , I want to experience college .
Also, congrats on getting into Harvard🎉 I wish you the best of luck! Boston is an amazing city to live in
I'm so lucky to have had this video in my recommended videos. I'm Canadian, so I never hear about any college application requirements unless I take initiative myself. I'm a freshman self-teaching myself AP Biology, Statistics, Chemistry and Calculus AB, and thanks to your video I decided I should take the SAT Biology M subject test in June after my AP Biology examination. I would have missed the deadline and would have had to re-study the material!
My confidence after watching went 📈
You’re amazing! Congrats on your successes!
congrats! i was wondering, did you refer to your extracurricular activities throughout your application, like in your essay?
I moved and left all my friends and now I’m a freshman with no friends but like everyone looks like they have friends so I just find a bench and eat alone. It’s only my second day so far but I really am not liking high school and I feel so lonely even in class when sitting with people
It gets better! Trust me!! And I probably shouldn't say this but: don't trust anyone blindly because at the end of the day, you don't know these people but you'll make amazing friendships
your hair is so cute!!!
Wonderful video. Thanks for your down to earth advice. Your achievements are major and I admire your hardwork but you somehow managed to not intimidate. ❤❤
This is so off topic but you are so pretty and cute! You look like the baby filter on Snapchat😩
your video made me cry because I feel like such a failure :((
We know us as students from latin countries can't do all that cool stuff bc we don't have as much opportunities as US HS students have. So you don't have to feel like a failure ur just great, just keep motivated :)
i cant wait to cry this year!
u can do this
could u do an everyday make up vid?!? YOU LOOK STUNNING🥰🥰💖
At last,I found desired video of extracurricular.
Thank you sooo much.
Love from India.🇮🇳
I know it's off topic.. But Gurl! You look super freaking cute!! And I am in love with your voice!! And you seem like a damn genius!! You are soo talented in all ways possible!
Seeing your video makes me want to redo high school but kind of late, I graduated 8 years ago LOL
