Mark, the first real video that I've seen that explains the slots and a perfect manner! As someone who sometimes saw people get frustrated by the way you joked about the technology, this is a refreshing take on that tech!
I remember reading a article in Golf Monthly years ago ,where a golf club manufacturer taped up 2 demo irons one cast and the other forged and they asked 3 touring pros to try them out, but they put ear muffs on them and asked them to hit balls and tell them which one was cast or forged. The result was the pros could not tell the difference and as such the term buttery soft is a result of hearing impact not feeling it as the ball spends so little time on the club face for any feel to take place, hence you saying the iron sounds hard but feels soft ,as centre strikes always feel soft.
Great review... just picked up a set of these. I've been gaming ap2's and cb's for a few years now and intended on picking up a new set of cb's this time around also. After hitting both clubs side by side the cb's had a softer feel for sure but the tp's were a little longer but also louder. so even though the feel wasn't quite there with the tp's they did perform very well, and for the price right now it's a great buy.
Hi Mark I use Rocketbaltz Tour and love them... Tried New TP Forged 16° 1 iron and it was amazing 230 carry on FlightScope ball went high & felt georgeous. Nice small compact head with chunky sole much easier to hit than my Ping1p Zing 1 iron. If I had some spare cash I would buy the set. Might get the TP 1 iron as a treat if I can lower my handicap this summer. Maybe Coach Lockey should try he could have used it on first hole he ballooned his Driver... Looking forward to part 2 tonight... What was MOH wind? In Spain we can get 75 km wind about 50 mph. Looked like 80 mph on Vlog... ⛳️
Mark, I know Miura's aren't in everyone's wheelhouse, but could you do a review on them. Scratch irons would be a good review too, both are boutique, but it would be interesting to get your opinion on them after seeing most of your equipment review videos. Thanks
Nice all round review. I will be testing these pretty soon as they are the type of irons I like. I won't be selling my existing irons either..... just in case :/
Nike has them on their drivers, as do Titleist. Cobra kind of has them on the face on their drivers and Callaway has something similar - can't remember what it is called. They've been around for a while (Nike did it a few years back) but only really starting to take a hold now. I think they will become more prevalent until they find a better way to even out performance across the face.
You called it Mark. The sound was not appealing on these clubs. TM is saying the PSI's were made to replace this club. You should test prototypes before they go to market.
Mark i'm not sure any irons have reached the maximum cor limits?... i thought only driver technology was at the point where all manufacturers had reached the 0.83 cor limit and a handful of 3 wood designs such as Taylormade Rbz, Stage 2, callaway x hot models. So in theory one of the manufacturers could design one with the face at the legal limits and improve ball speed dramatically. Remember Taylormade's staff players wearing a cap with 17 on them? Claiming the original rbz 3 wood was upto 17 yards longer as the speed slot technology on the sole had increased the face cor to 0.83... so in theory if somebody could design an iron which meets the cor limit we would see a significant jump in ball speed and distance.
here is some small print from a recent TM iron distance claim based on 4-iron test data. RSi 1 Irons designed with a COR up to the USGA limit. Due to manufacturing tolerances, not all irons will reach the maximum.

Had these since they were released and love them!

Can you do a comparison of the rsi tp vs the 2014 MC'S?
I just got fit for these clubs, and interestingly, they out performed the RSI 1 and 2 in all fields. higher, farther, straighter. couldn't believe it.

Mark you should compare these to the mp-15's. They "classic w/tech" match-up
n to sure what i should get rsitp or rsi2
Any chance on getting the new Hogan Fort Worth forged irons in a review?
Q. Why it go so high up in the air sorry for late i just got them from my bro and they're pxi 6.0 in this set I got and I'm your fan form Thailand ^^
Unfortunately I'm not able to demo the Titleist MB 714's in lefty, so I was wondering what you would rather get, RSI TP? Or MB 714?
Hey, nice video. Do all irons in this set have the slots?
3-7 do. 8-PW are slotless. Just like the Rocketblades and 2014 TP range.
Does slots-a-thon irons mean that TM will make all of their future irons with slots? If not, then it should be clear to all that slots are gimmicks
Almost every TM club has sole slots now. Do you thing all irons here on out will have them. Are drivers and woods next?

I wonder why no other brands have sole slots on their irons(besides Adams of course).
speterj Wilson did, many moons ago. Check out their Reflex irons.
Yeah your right but Wilson has a new Reflex iron that you can still buy.
speterj Wow, didn't realise they had brought it back to life. Prefer the looks of the original though!
How does it compare to Callaway X forged?

Slottastic

what's with the white dots on the face?
So the GC2-HMT launch monitor can detect the face in relation to the ball to see where it strikes.
You should purposely hit a few off the heel/toe and see how they perform and compare that to other irons
