Can you imagine having this in your life, and then having to live without it? Once you drive this kind of car, that provides this experience it must be impossible to be without. That noise is intoxicating. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
There are always more cars. I had an E92 M3 for 7 years, and 4 of those years I was supercharged with an ESS 625 kit. Great car and the noise is amazing, but I sold mine a year ago and have no regrets. Moved on to a 911 and once you put headers and exhaust on a proper naturally aspirated Porsche flat 6, it fills the void from the S65 and then some.
Guys, I am in to my 3rd V8 M3. At 58 years of age. Jus5 keep coming back to them. The first e 92 M3 Ess 625, manual loved it , nuts. Then e90 M3 FBO, no headers, loved it and decided no need to supercharge. Then another e92 M3, FBO, amazing. And now my last e90 M3 fBO, no need for the supercharger in m6 option , just a fBO, nice exhaust and carbon air box and elbow is enough. I am moving to the dark side now as I don’t want to risk heavy expenses at my age. I am buying a gen 2 mustang ( 2017) after driving a FBO man, amazing, similar in some way, don’t ask me why, but it put a smile on my face and I don’t have to live with anxiety any more.
I admire folks that are willing to try different brands after being deeply committed. Way too many cars out there to just like one style. Hope that you love the next automotive chapter!
I had one. It's my favorite car ever. I'm gonna get another one but dct this time. A lot of people bought ess g1's based off my videos. I had the display model from ESS.
I have a boosted E92 M3 with the Harrop SC and that thing is addictive to drive. I've considered many times to sell it and pick up something different but every time I drive it, that changes my mind. I don't think I'll ever part with the car, it's just that good.
One of the best cars ever. Even supercharged, the chassis is just too good. A lot of times boosting a car feels like too much. But supercharging it feels natural. I have videos of my old one ess g1, small pulley, methanol. Def made a good 600whp if not a bit more. Cruising at 140-160 like nothing. My next one will be dct, and run full e85. Should be close to 675whp.
Used to watch all of your E92 videos. I personally want a manual but always think about the what if of a DCT. I’m curious, what’s making you want a DCT now? Would it pair better with a supercharger?
@andrec9058 thank you VERY much for the viewership 🔥. after driving a dct car (one stock, one euro flash), I saw how complete the e92 felt. I never actually liked the way the 6sp drove, the clutch engagement was weird, pedal feel, shifter, etc. The super fast dct, and the gearing felt good. Can tell the car was built around the dct. And I was told xhp is way better than the euro flash so I can't wait to experience that.
@@imSchwaggyunfortunately XHP doesn’t offer a tune for e9x m3’s. Hopefully one day though. From what I’ve read the euro flash is the best overall. I currently have a 6sp with vf625 kit, but yea I wish it was dct.
Good to know Back in the e46 scene me and taza few others did the first aa sc kits pushing the envelope and man while it was a fun journey and wild ride, it couldn’t put power down then with old tire tech and reliability issues Nice to know if I hope back into an m to supercharge it 20 years later, I can get a reliable drive
Manual E92 was mine… but when I was in the market during the PLANdemic 2 summers ago the ONLY e9x for sale in the entire state was a dct e90… and beggars can’t be choosers so I snatched it up before it was gone …. And I will say I’d choose the dct over manual on the e9x platform all day every day. The dct is literally made for this car. It’s better than the manual in every aspect and it’s actually more fun than manual
How’s the reliability? And did you do supporting mods like forging? I’m looking 2 e92’s one is supercharged and the other one isn’t, both at around 30k miles
@ engine is stock with original bearings, I am starting to gather metal engine bits to replace plastic for preventative maintenance. the only problem I’ve had that wasn’t my fault is the supercharger itself has started leaking out of the vent. I think a rebuild will fix that but its the only thing that scares me even though I just clean it and fill once a month if I’m driving it every day Expect to change spark plugs more frequently, and if you live in a warmer be prepared to spend a lot of money on cooling mods because the car will heat soak bad if it’s warm outside I went from a stock m3 that got rear ended to the supercharged one and I can never go back.
I think one subtle fact that is tough for folks like me is the e92 supercharger kits aren't carb legal unlike the weistec one for the c63, which makes pretty ridiculous power while staying california legal. obviously doesn't affect most but it's sad for me since I'm definitely on team e92.
Centrifugal superchargers are very deceiving, if you’ve never driven one but have been on a high revving street bike it’s similar. There’s no torque hit and they just keep pulling and pulling so it doesn’t seem as fast until you look down. They are also very easy on the engine as they complement the engines natural air flow.
@Machine_s15 u speaking to someone that did 260kph every time he left the house and I hit 8000rpm every time I left the house. Don't talk if you have no clue it's clear you've never owned one

Ive installed a bunch of these ess kits. They are great and make good power.

how is the overall reliability of the kits and what’re some maintenance items they require? ESS vs VF?

@Ryan-rp1es alpine does, I had their engine tune before. But that's odd. I was told xhp did make tunes for the e92 m3. Somebody lied 🤔

E92 with its v8
Always made a beautiful sound but i always felt it lacked the punch. I think this about solves that problem!
its true
Funny how they slowly explain how not ideal the conditions are for this boosted M3 but yet they’re still driving it. 😂
I love it!
Love the power but I'd miss that glorious intake roar
The best M3 in the history! 🥰🥰
I love these cars. There is something special about them.
I thought i recognized these, hi Jake 👋
Clean af builds
Stunning spec. If I didn't have interlagos blue, I'd have Silverstone II. Amazing car - convincing me to get the ESS kit!
E90 was my dream 4 door. Time came now that I could buy it, but I couldn’t find any supercharged stick shift ones.
E90 6-speed is the dream
I’ve seen a couple supercharged manual e60 m5s about a month or so ago. And had the 3 main things done and came with a 1 year warranty

@ to each their own. Stick shift will always be more fun. Never in my life, my fun to drive car would be automatic/dct
supercharging is the best thing you can do to the e9X m3. I'm at 150k miles, with the SC put on at 90k miles.

Ok I need to know where yall got the little air filter.
Love the review, I need to get another E92 M3!
Supercharged e9x M3 by far better than stock.
Now you gotta do twin supercharged v10 m5
There’s a ton of people that have supercharged these motors even with high mileage and still running strong
I'm sure a lot of it comes down to fuel as well. I'm sure Jake's car will be just fine
A BMW? 😅
Thing was formerly owned by a Balkan…. It’s really on borrowed time lol
The title is rage bait, I feel like there was very little research done on the E9X platform before this video lol
I just saw an ad with two chicks talking about shopping on Etsy for their BF..
Awesome!
spark plug change every week 😂
Boosting an S65B40 is such a bad idea. Its cool though. Good content too.
I feel like most modified cars begin as bad ideas 😂 thanks for watching
That car is not a ticking time bomb. This is not 2010. 12:1 cars can run boost.
What’s under your hat 🧢
Supercharged S65 engines don’t have 550-600 whp. More like 550 hp at the crank and around 470 at the wheel. Stop the lying in these car videos.
Sacrilege to supercharge such a gem of an NA engine.
as a previous owner that engine is nice at the top but low down it's lazy it feels like it needs more torque
@@e4superflyif the revs are too low you're in the wrong gear. No one races at 3000rpm
