  • This Summer, meet the residents of Element City
Watch the new trailer for Disney and Pixar’s #Elemental and see the movie in 3D, only in theaters June 16!
Check out a brand-new trailer for Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” an all-new original feature film that transports moviegoers to an extraordinary place called Element City, where a host of elements live and work. The trailer showcases each element-air, earth, water and fire-and what sets them apart according to Ember, a quick-witted and fiery woman who’s always stayed close to home in Firetown. In “Elemental,” which opens in theaters on June 16, she finally ventures out of her comfort zone to explore this spectacular world born from the imaginations of Pixar’s filmmakers and specifically crafted for the big-screen experience. Element City is inspired by big cities around the globe and embraces theorized contributions from each elemental community-from giant pine-tree-like buildings and waterfall skyscrapers to a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium.
Joining the previously announced voice cast including Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, are Ronnie del Carmen as Ember’s soon-to-be retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Ember’s love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wade’s stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O’Hara as Wade’s welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Ember’s admiring earth neighbor, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.
Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, “Elemental” features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh. The film’s original score was composed and conducted by Thomas Newman.

Loving the animation so far. The only downside I can see in this is that it looks a “forbidden relationship” & “opposites attract” type of story. And from what I’ve heard a decent amount of people online are kinda tired of those type of stories. Fortunately for me I don’t care about story tropes being overdone. What matters for me is if it’s executed well or not. Hope the movie executes it well.

Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom. Also, they apparently had pretty good senses of humor.
Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.
Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.
Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.

Visuals are beautiful, but the story/plot is very underwhelming imo. Where the previous films i mentioned are more for the 20 and above age, I think this is more of a children movie. This movie really hit home for me. I’m Iranian and my family and I were new immigrants to Canada 26 years ago and adjusting to a new country was really difficult. My parents really struggled to find work (they did eventually find good jobs. My mom was a teacher at a daycare and my dad was a mechanical engineer). I really didn’t understand the extent of it since I was so young (I was 8 and my brother was 4). I’m 34 now and imagining how difficult it must have been for my parents and how they sacrificed everything for us to have a better life here. This movie really touched me. I’m crying just writing this. Thank you Pixar for making a movie dedicated to immigrants and how hard life is for them in new country. -The shifting of the leaves and grass on the earth people
-The way the flames wave with the motion of the fire people

The people saying its a terrible movie clearly cannot relate to it. It is not just a "dont want to follow parents' footsteps" trope. It's a story about the tradegy of leaving everything/everyone you know and love for better opportunities. the broken english of the dad, having to survive in a city not built for them and all the intercultural intricacies general Americans do not have to think about. But to see it represented in media, especially in one as big as Pixar means a lot to others.

Edit: i have never been so happy to be wrong about a movie WOW this movie was beautiful, gorgeous animation LOVED Ember & Wade's chemistry i loved how Wade lit his candle with Ember's light reflecting off himself genius i loved how Ember's color changed when she stepped on those crystals that was beautiful their little dance was beautiful just everything about this movie was beautiful

Judy also Mets Nick’s maternal grandparents Nancy, Alexander, Owen, Gerald (piglet), Wendy and Fredrick’s great-grandparents Telly and Kelly Wilde a elderly seventy or eighty year old red fox married couple who are always forgetful and on the brink of dying of old age. John and Lucy both experienced the same prejudices towards foxes Nick experienced in his childhood after the Junior Ranger Scouts incident while trying to become tailors and managers of their own clothing store and tailor shop but unlike Nick didn’t let those prejudices stand in their way and they opened their dream clothing store and tailor shop despite the obstacles they faced in the process. John and Lucy were also both grateful towards Judy for helping their son Nick change into a better person no longer arrogant selfish, fearful, cynical and pessimistic and now more adventurous, happy, optimistic, brave, selfless, humble and caring and loyal towards other people other than himself like she is and convincing him to follow his dreams and goals overcoming the obstacles and prejudices towards his species he faces in the process like she did and becoming their son’s true love and new girlfriend after his breakup with his red fox vixen fiancée Roxy Redfur while also grateful towards both Nick and Judy for ending the world’s prejudices and discriminations towards foxes by working together to solve the nighthowler crisis and giving them all peace, equal rights and Justice at long last and allow them all to follow their life goals and dreams with Judy overcoming her own prejudice towards foxes and Nick overcoming his own character flaws to do so. Clara also helps give Nick advice on his romantic relationship with Judy and how to date her and soon have the courage to marry her and have kids with her using the same methods she used to date, marry and fall in love with and have kids with Charlie and gives Nick the wedding ring, the same wedding ring that Clara proposed to Charlie with for Nick to use to do a marriage proposal to Judy when he feels that the time is right. (Which he eventually does in the series’ Valentine’s Day Series Finale.) Judy also befriends Clara and Charlie’s children and Nick’s nieces and nephews including Alexander. Nancy, Fredrick, Wendy, Owen and Gerald (piglet) around the same time Nick has some bonding time with his nieces and nephews by playing video games with them (Parodying Nintendo video games.) and watching superhero movies and reading superhero comics and doing karaoke parties with them and watch nature documentaries and read nature and science reference books together. (Alexander is also Nick’s favorite and adorable nephew like how Cotton is Judy’s favorite and adorable niece.) Alexander is portrayed as optimistic, fun-loving, adventurous, selfless, nerdy, quirky, friendly, social butterfly, helpful, sly, cunning and eccentric red fox cub (Who also speaks in a Brooklyn accent) who has a stronger bond with his mother than his father and also loves being visited by his maternal uncle Nick and his uncle’s girlfriend Judy who he and his siblings call, “Aunt Judy” and Alexander dreams of becoming a superhero someday just like the Animal Avengers, X-Animals, Spider-Fox Family and Mutant Lemur Family after he gets his superpowers and a trainer for Tyrannosaurs, Dromaeosaurs, Oviraptorosaurs and Ornithomimids in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World someday same for an alternate universe where the Cretaceous-Paleogene Extinction Event never happened and non-avian dinosaurs, pterosaurs, marine reptiles, birds sharks and prehistoric mammals coexist with his friends and family supporting him with completing and achieving that goal and Alexander dreaming of making the world a better place free of criminals, villains and injustice and work as a police officer at the ZPD someday just like his uncle Nick. Alexander was initially scared of swimming and water (aquaphobia) but his friends and family helped him overcome that fear. Alexander was also scared of joining the Junior Ranger Scouts after the difficulties his uncle faced while trying to join them but Nick would help his nephew overcome that fear after getting over the prejudices he experienced in his childhood. Nancy is a control freak, quirky, sassy, egosticial, spoiled, nerdy, whinny and arrogant and stubborn but later after some serious character development and a redemption arc, well-meaning, good-hearted, serious, nerdy, optimistic, friendly, nice and adventurous red fox cub (Who also speaks in a British accent.) and Clara and Charlie’s daughter and Nick’s niece that has a stronger bond with her father Charlie then her mother Clara and is a daddy’s girl, pampered and spoiled by her father by allowing her to go mall shopping with her friends in Zootopia and Zoo York City (New York City) and San Franscoink (San Francisco)’s shopping malls and clothing stores and restaurants and have and do whatever she wants expect skipping school and doing bad behavior. Nancy despite her spoiled nature and control freak behavior is a real sweetheart and is friendly, responsible, selfless, humble and kind and cares deeply about her friends and family and she loves karaoke and going mall shopping with her friends and fashion designing and costume designing and wearing fashion and makeup and visiting her Uncle Nick and his girlfriend also her “Aunt Judy” and dreams of one day becoming a caring and responsible nurse or doctor at a hospital like her mother, a paleontologist and marine biologist working at a natural history museum and a skilled artist and comic book writer and illustrator and science girl a.k.a.
