yeah, there's a difference between sentient elements and nonsentient elements for example, Ember cannot burn flammable items unless she gives out a huge dose of fire and both Wade and Ember cannot vaporize or extinguish each other when they touch, only creating minimal steam so when part of water or fire comes off a person, it goes from a controllable, sentient substance to a regular one
