Olight Optic - is it trash?

Olight released the Osight recently and at such a low price point everyone is wondering if this thing is worth using or is it going to live up to the lackluster reputation Olight has earned over the years. Let’s just be honest here, their lights are beginner grade at best but who knows, maybe they came up with a winner this time. Either way I wanted to get to the bottom of it and let you know what I found.

When I first seen this sight was released, I thought since it was first gen I wouldn't buy it because I knew it was going to have issues. Thanks for confirming that suspicion.

Ive seen a few people talk really good about it but I agree…first gen is normally a no go. I had to test it for myself and give an honest opinion

True story. The fact is its not a huge bump in cost between this optic and one that will last…spend a few more bucks and get something better

Agree. Holosun 407a3 for $180-200 is also great for 3 moa, no solar. Wish more than just PSA carried it.

I have a 407k on my Shield plus. Love it, it's the 6moa version red dot.

I am seriously waiting on version 2. Manufactures are using the customer to figure out the bugs.

It’s a terrible business model. All it takes is a little bit of testing on their end to find issues before they make it to the general public. If it makes it to consumers it just gives a bad name to the product and the company as a whole. When a v2 comes out I won’t buy it

Great review Mike, its a shame it can't handle the heat... At least its not a high high dollar dot but sad it bit ya for 200... Hope Olight gets a better sample out... 2.0 😆 🤣

Ya that’s where I’m at with it. I get the concept of trying to save money when buying an optic but there’s a certain level where it doesn’t make sense at all
