  • Hey guys! In today's video I would like to share with you my experience after over 50,000 kilometers / 25,000 miles with the BF Goodrich KO2 All Terrain tires on our Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4. The BF Goodrich KO2 tire has many advantages but unfortunately also a few disadvantages which I will discuss in this video.
    In general, I can say that this tire is a good all-rounder which delivers a solid performance both off-road and on the road.
    Feel free to ask any questions you may have concerning this tire. I'll be pleased to give you any details you require.
    Enjoy your Sunday,
    Peter

    Hi, can you do a video describing the process of replacing the original 19" wheels to the 18" ones?

    I really do think that the real issue with this kind of tire is the noise more that the fuel consumption. But of course it depends on what the meaning of your driving is… (off road/on road)

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  Год назад

      Hey @angelo, I really have to say, the noise level of the tires is really not bad in contrast to other AT/MT tires despite the still rough tread! Yes, it is louder than a normal tire, but nowhere near as bad as you would expect. Greetings, Peter

    Those Ko2 are amazing I had them for 100'000kms plus on my jeep jk. Wear perfectly almost no road noise! Best tires ever for my point of view. Now want to buy some for my D4. What size of spacer did u used? What is the ET of your wheel, and finally how much it affect the speedometer?
    Thsnks for your content, I just bought a D4 diesel. And would like to fit those tires in 😁

      Hey, thanks a lot! These tyres are definitely one of the best for off-road riding! I've never had any problems with them and I've never been afraid of them being damaged by sharp or pointed rocks. The road noise was fine for this tyre profile. What I have to say, however, is that the performance on wet roads decreases over time and they are a bit slippery. In my opinion, you should then drive more carefully. But the performance on dry roads was great even when they were older! All the best, Peter

    Hello Peter, thanks for this video - the wheels now protrude out of the wheel houses. In Germany where I am living, this is not allowed. How is it in Austria? Regards, egehoj

      Hi @EGE-hoj! The tires have a TÜV and are allowed in Germany ;) I don't know how the previous owner did this, but I've the papers here. Best to you, Peter

    Did u have to mod anything to get the tyres to fit?
    And does it not run on any height setting?

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  Год назад +1

      Hey, if the car is not fully loaded, then you can even drive it in entry mode. Changes that can be made to fit the 18" rims are: 1. mount spacers or 2. changes or machining of the front brake calipers. Many greetings, Peter

      @@notthatkindofachannel Thx, KO2 Seems to be for real off road.
      Okey So 18"rims do not fit on discovery 4 without mod?
      I'm going to test general grabbers at3 with 255/60r19 Should fit? and hopefully even as sparewheel.

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  Год назад +1

      @@superantew I think the 19” tires will fit in the wheel well. Even if it will be 60s instead of 55s in height.
      Side note: My BF Goodrich also fit in the spare wheel holder, but only when empty ;)

      @@notthatkindofachannel But is it not possible to fit 18" rims on discovery 4 due to brake rotors to big?
      So u really get them to fit.. i couldn't fit 255/65R19 at all in sparewheel

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  Год назад

      Hey, the brake discs are not necessarily the problem, but also the brake calipers. But yes, if the brake discs were smaller, it would be easier. The 2.7 litre model has smaller discs like the Discovery 3, which makes it possible to fit 18 inch rims. However, I would advise against installing them on the 3.0 litre models.
      Yes, as I said, without air and with a bit of patience there is room. But I have only tried it once so far and wouldn't want to do it more than once! Then rather a spare wheel holder at the rear 😉
      Greetings,
      Peter

    I brought some 255/55/20 for my D4 and one side just rubs on the frame horn, bit heartbroken because I'm going to have to take them off and buy some 19" rims and now fit 255/55/19 on there. anyone else experienced this?

      I want to change it to 265/50/20 hopefully it won’t rubs on the frame!
      Maybe because of 255/55 the reason

    Hi and thanks for the information,
    as you described this 265/60/18, ?
    please elaborate on how did you fit these 18" rims without spacers?
    what is the maker/kind of the rims' is hard to fit to a lr4 3tdv6 because of the dimensions of the brake
    best regards

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  Год назад +3

      Hello @Safi Ramal, no I have the 265/65/18 with spacers on it. It would otherwise not be possible to fit this dimension on the models with the 3.0 litre engine. On the 2.7 litre models it should be possible without.
      The rims are from Delta and the Type is WP matt.
      Many greetings,
      Peter

    Hallo Peter, erstmal beste Grüße ins schöne Österreich und vielen Dank für deine Videos. Ich habe auch einen Dico4 mit original 19" und großer Bremsanlage bei mir drauf. Da die Auswahl an 19" Reifen doch eher beschränkt ist und ich gern 18" fahern würde, hätte ich gern gewußt welche Einpresstiefe die Delta Felgen haben und wie dick die Distanzscheiben sind die du drauf hast? Damit das alles auch dem TÜV gefällt. Es wäre mir auch sehr hilfreich wenn ich eine Kopie der Papiere/Eintragung haben könnte für den deutschen TÜV.
    Viele liebe Grüße aus Deutschland....Sven

      Hallo Sven und sorry für die etwas verspätete Antwort! Die ET von den Delta WP sind 42 und die die verbauten Distanzscheiben vorne so wie hinten, waren 60mm pro Achse bzw. 30mm pro Seite. Die Kopien der Eintragungen suche ich dir raus. Bitte schicke mir eine Mail an die Kontaktadresse hier im Channel.
      Viele Grüße aus Graz, Peter

      Hallo @Volker Bernsteiner, mit kleinen Anpassungen da es sich nicht um das 2,7 Liter Modell handelt. Viele Grüße, Peter
