I'd say let the commenters "come at you" all they want. Until they start supply the large amount of $$$$ needed for lessons and their idea of the perfect boarding facilities, then nothing they say matters. Rudnik is your horse and your responsibilty that you are taking seriously and doing a great job at. Be proud of all that you and Rudnik have accomplished so far and will continue to do so from what I am seeing!

@@rudniktheroan I wanted to thank you for responding to my question both in the comment on the other video and re-mentioning about why the white horse did not come with him.... As I said before I am not a horse person, but even I can see you do the grooming of the coat and feet... Keep up the good work being a horsy mom... I do agree with you if folks want to trash talk your riding style (with I have no clue one but looks good to me) then let them fund you with lessons/perfect boarding place.... LOL I grew up with dogs, good to see all of are baby's are the same when its "oh the treat is left with no one watching it, think I will help my self to some goodies...." My 14 year old Yorkie the other day showed my mom why she can not leave food sitting on the lamp/end table when he taken it on him self to help her eat half her tuna sandwich... LOL Then to see Rundnik do the horse version of the same thing....
He's so glad to see you and spend time with you . Just keep talking to him...quietly. Haven't met an animal that didn't respond well to that. He knows what you're saying.

👍🏻❤️ I adore how much Rudnik loves you. He’s such a great heart & soul. 🥰 and I respect how you ‘handle’ him with words & easy gestures, his comfort with you speaks volumes. Who needs perfect form when they’ve got perfect love like yours ? 👍🏻🙏❤️
The carrot hound knows exactly where to go for his treats.😀 One small bite in five days after all the posturing that was going on in the other videos is a good thing. I was afraid he’d be a mass of bites by now, but you had said in an earlier video that though it looked like he’d been bitten that there were no marks. I hope he starts making friends soon so he’ll feel more comfortable and less chance of biting. Though I know that in established herds that have been together and been friends a long time that bites can occur.
I love watching you & Rudnick. I am really happy you have him in a Pasture without so much grass. He is an easy keeper--that's the good news. That also means that if he consistently carries too much weight there is a risk of many problems (& expensive vet bills) that are associated with equine obesity--laminitis, founder, colic among others. If he is supplemented with hay you might want to soak his hay to remove sugar before feeding it to him. Overall I think you do a good job with him. He is actually stunning. I hope your RUclips videos provide enough income to allow you to take lessons & get the coaching you want. And I think you are doing really good job on your own.
Thankfully the hay they get is just grass hay so no risk of excessive sugar there either! But yes so many just assume because so many animals eat only grass that there is no risk to it. The amount of people I’ve had try to fight me and say I’m wrong is astonishing (one woman even fought me that ‘only old horses can colic’… I’ve personally had a 2 year old nearly die from colic) some people would rather believe they’re right than learn something that could save their animals life someday.
I love your relationship with Rudnik. I think I would cry about him getting a bite! It makes me want to bite the horse that did it! lol He is so freaking smart!
I don’t know a darn thing about caring for a horse, but I do know love when I see it! It is apparent there is a strong loving bond between you two! Rudnick also has a strong bond with the fiancé. 🙂 I was drawn to your videos because of the love and care you give to Rudnick. I have since become a subscriber. Thank you for sharing. Your doing everything right!! Don't let anyone tell you differently. I do think the new place is better for him also, with visual stimuli to learn about. Sorry it's further away. The long range benefits will pay off in the end
He’s doing great at the new place. You definitely made the best choice. I didn’t realise that too much sweet grass can lead to metabolic issues like Laminitis not just obesity until I saw a video from the Clever Cowgirl who has a couple of horses with this problem. He seems nice and calm where he is. You did a great job in choosing a place that suits HIS needs. 😃👍
You have a truly special horse in Rudnik! He leaves other horses to come see you. He tries to please you regardless of what you are asking; he is Cool and so are you!
Having horses is expensive. Floating teeth, hoof trims every 6 to 8 weeks, shots, feed, hay, supplements, and boarding. This new facility isn't that bad. It may not be a million dollar barn, but it is a safe place for him to be. Hopefully, someday, you can get a place of your own.
It’s a good point that this pasture is better for Rudnik. We’re having a drought where I am which is great for my Lusitano, who gets overweight just looking at lush grass…
Like your new spot. I agree that natural terrain is a great way for Rudnik to get in shape as well as develop excellent up, down, sideways training. Then you will be adding your body balance and that will be Step 2. Hope you will work on ground work, obstacles, even ground driving as your pregnancy advances, as weather permits. (Barry Hook also uses a lot of verbal cues. You can see obstacle training, etc. and he emphasizes ground training/daily routines as a foundation for other work. Rhianna and sometimes Katy are his co-trainers.) I always enjoy how he "looks for" potential obstacles/conditions to train on.
We have a lot of fun with our ground work too! I’ll definitely have to start doing more of that once I’m unable to ride - even when you’re not riding there’s so much you can still do and learn out of the saddle! We’ll never be bored 🥰
Thank you! Very much self taught - we grew up riding western and basically as long as you didn’t fall off you were succeeding 😂 I only switched fully to English in the last few years so I know I still have a lot of ‘western’ riding habits that leak into my English riding that I’m trying to workout. But it’s definitely taken work to get here so thank you! ♥️

Hi, your riding looks fine to me, but if you are looking for helpful information on riding/ training horses then I would recommend looking at Josie ‘Basic Horse Training’ on RUclips. She explains everything really well and has a great attitude to both her own horses and those that she backs or re schools for others. I had very few lessons as an adult (never learned to ride as a child) and I have picked up lots of information from her videos to help refine my riding. By the way, Rudnik is stunning 🐴👍
Not always. Blankets are more so used as temperature control but it could be possible some may for that reason. Out here it’s WAY too hot to be blanketing though and it’s best to let horses be horses. It’s actually extremely common to find bites on them even when they’re in a herd they’ve been with for years. It’s just horses being horses
Horses have a pecking order and getting bitten is typical of herd integration. They also kick each other which can really result in serious injuries. All in all it is better to be bitten than kicked in the head or have a leg broken with a kick. Hopefully Rudick is past the most difficult part of his integration. 🙏 ❤
If you run in a herd, you’re gonna get better you’re gonna get kicked. You just hope none of those horses have shoes on out there that pasture because you can end up broke or dead if they have high shoes on.
How do you know it was him? You really can’t tell an entire horses personality off a split second clip so I wouldn’t be so quick to throw judgement - I’ve seen their interactions more than you have and can confidently say he is not mean at all

Probably the herd alpha, asserting their rank.
