I am a new knitter and completed this T-Shirt in July 2023 with Southwick cotton & bamboo yarn. The pattern was easy to follow and I learned how to knit German Short Rows to create the sleeves. The garment has been worn, washed a few times and becomes softer with use. Very happy with the result. Thank you from Donna.
Oh wow! You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this! I am so excited to get started on my T-shirt! And it works out perfect as we are leaving for the lake for the whole summer in two days! I can’t wait to get started! Thank you so much
I really enjoyed working on this top. Thank you so much for the short row tutorial. I had never used it before and being shown how to work it, was terrific. Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing. This is my next project for sure. The sweater is amazing!🤩 The tutorial makes all difference in my choice because without it I wouldn’t be making this pattern. I don’t know how to read the majority of the written instructions ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Love all your work 😊
This video actually saved me on a pattern I’m trying to knit. It’s a bit different, but it uses the same top down method. I was so confused! You explain things so clearly, I’ll def have to buy patterns from you in the future. Maybe this pattern actually, I love the fit!
Love this pattern and Ashley’s clear, easy to understand RUclips teachings! Her video tutorial is a great enhancement to the written pattern. Also, each segment works up quickly. I will def be making more of these tees. Now on to her new Sweater vest pattern. Thank you Ashley!
Always appreciate your patterns. I am looking forward to this one. I have done several of yours and really appreciate the tutorial videos that you make to accompany your patterns as I am a visual learner. Thanks for another great pattern/video Ashley
Thank you so much for showing us how to knit this beautiful tee! I bought my pattern and I’m waiting for my yarn to be delivered. If you here about a woman in Central Florida who accosted the UPS man because she’s waiting for her yarn, that will be me 😂.
I am looking forward to learning new techniques from this pattern!! I have just finished my first summer tee and learned how to do short rows and twisted ribbing as well as M1R and M1L. I have purchased the same yarn you used and am excited to get this on my needles. This is going to be my summer to learn new knitting skills!!!❤
This was so fun to make I just looove your tutorials, what would I do without them? Question: did you block this finished work? And if so, steam or wet block?
Love mine going to make another with Berroco remix light. I did your vest too with wool ease instead of what you used. Feels so plastic like. I know some acrylic yarn is better than other. I hate it! I am insecure about knitting fitted garments so thought I would get something cheap. Now I know I can do it I am making also another one in a better yarn. Thanks for your tutorials to help us learn.
Im always looking for a good t shit pattern, but mostly they are halter tops of some kind. This is really nice! Thank you! Im wondering if there is one with capped sleeves? I rarely see them.
Hi Ashley, I prefer a longer sleeve, can I just keep knitting beyond 1 1/2 inches of stockinette? is there anything I need to do differently in regards to the german short rows? thanks!!
I have bought the pattern and have started but I am a bit worried about the fact that it seems to have some kind of a "bump" on the back because of the increases. Is this bump visible when you have the tee on?
Hi, great video thanks! I’m looking at knitting this in a marl effect with two yarns. Can you suggest what weights to get? And quantity? Then I do the trial bit, ( can’t remember what it’s called) and check it knits up to the same size / number of stitches or change needles accordingly?
feel free to check the pattern details for yarn weight, gauge, and yardage! You'll just have to make sure you hit gauge with the two strands together and you'll have to buy each color in the yardage listed!
Hi Ashley. I’ve completed my left sleeve short rows. But, I only have done 12 short rows. I could complete 13 but would need to move BOR marker. I would still have 4 stitches left of marker that were not worked. Should I rip back and redo or just carry on. I’m making size 4. Thank you. It’s a beautiful design. I love the full fashion details.
Hi Ashley, I have a question. Why is it necessary to work it from top to bottom, wouldn't it work if I knit the body panels from bottom up so I can do them in one piece each?
Hi there, yes you have to knit this method from the top down! The work is joined in the round for the body so it’s worked in one piece anyway! There’s no seaming…
Just finished watching it, just great , this would be my first tee. But the short row for the sleeves I think will be very hard for me. Is there an easier way? Thank you 😊
I'm a leftie too. If you knit clockwise, you do the opposite. For example , a M1L will lean to the right in a clockwise (left-handed knitting) and vice versa.
Maybe someone can help me- fellow left hand knitter: I am about to start increases for neckline and am on left front. I just realized if I complete the increases as stated in pattern, I will have increases on the wrong side of the neck (since I am knitting left handed). Does that make sense. Should I make the increases at the end of the instead of doing them at the beginning of the row? So I would knit until 3 before the end and then increase? I am really lost here? TIA
I've really enjoyed this pattern - but am having a problem. I just knitted my first sleeve - and the entire R side is pulling to the back! The 4 rows on top sit at neck - but the sleeve side tilts way down! I'm right with the pattern - no counting/stich errors. Anyone have any ideas what I've done wrong? HELP PLEASE!
Hi Ashley- Started on the t- shirt and I knit left handed. I am at the point where I am increasing for the underarms. At this point, am I going to have to do anything differently since I am knitting left handed. So far everything looks good. Thank you. Also, instead of using waste yarn to hold the stitches can I use a circular needle instead? Thank you so much. This is my first top with sleeves so I am really nervous.
GM Ashley Can you tell me how this coboo cotton holds up … stretching shape ? Your T-shirt is so darn cute on you and that colour also I will be making one or more of these Ty 😊💝🇨🇦
@@AshleyLillisKnitsHi Ashley. I’m doing size 4. I can only fit in 12 short rows for shoulder cap. Then I have more stitches in one side of marker than other to last short row. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi I’m making a blanket but I only can find a 60inch circular knitting needle and my blanket gets tight. What supplies do I need to make a bigger blanket ? I asked some girls on TikTok and never got a response
Blankets are tough because circular needles only go so long…. You might not be able to find anything longer! You could always knit in sections and seam pieces together if you absolutely can’t fit the stitches in the needle.
Dont by this pattern it doesn't tell you important info and is a waste of money. No idea how many to cast on, how many to increase to for the size I need or even what size I am because the size system used is nonsense. Going to be seeing if I can get a refund. Since the pattern has important info missing.
Hi there, all of the cast on stitch amounts are provided in the section labeled “back” as the pattern instructs you to cast on stitches first for the back. All of the necessary information is included in the pattern - it has been tech edited and tested thoroughly. I have also provided a full step by step video tutorial of the pattern here which walks you through how to make it. I have 12 sizes which correspond to a finished bust circumference to accommodate many different bust sizes. You take your bust size, add the intended ease you would like, and then pick a finished bust circumference that makes sense for you. If you have a specific question, I am always happy to help. My contact information is included in the pattern for you. Have a great day.
