    I really appreciate these videos. I'm not a skater, but I'm a writer and artist. These videos have helped me understand the mechanics and terminology of figure skating for a story I'm researching. I'm grateful that you've made this knowledge easily accessible for everyone, including those outside of the skating community!

    "I enjoyed most of it" 😂 she should write a book about what it's like behind the scenes etc. Bet it would be a best seller.

      I’ve been thinking it might be fun to do a video about show skating life. Perhaps I should make it happen.

      That would be a great book to read. However, I'm wondering if she can actually legally say anything about them without getting into trouble.

      @@CoachJulia that would be an amazing idea. My daughter is 15, late to figure skating but she loves it. It would be awesome for people getting into it to see how shows run etc behind the scenes. I'm a hockey player (beer league!) so my world on the ice is very different 😂

    My friend and I have been doing duets. We put the star spiral from another of your videos in a program and now we are going to try one (or two!) of these in our program for our winter show. Thanks for having so many cool tutorials!

    Loved this video! The beauty of pair skating is what brought me to skating in the first place. I also am not built for pair skating, but I dream about it too. It's still my favorite discipline of skating to watch.

    Thank you, Coaches Julia and Naomi, for a fantastic video! I have been working hard on my back outside pivot and incorporated it into my bronze Freeskate program this season. I always try to envision how it would feel as part of a death spiral and now I’m inspired to ask my coach if I could work on one of these death spirals with another adult skating friend/colleague!

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  2 года назад +2

      You should do it! It is such a cool move and if you have a good back, outside pivot, you can do the best versions.

    It's wonderful to skate vicariously through you. I would love to be able to skate again, but at 51 with bilateral runner's knee and bilateral plantar fasciitis, it's just not possible right now. Maybe someday my knees and feet can tolerate recreational skating and lessons again. In the meantime, keep these well-done videos coming!

    Hi Coach and Naomi, very entertaining, thank you both. Like all your learning videos and the thinking involved, a goal of muscle and partner memory, then it will be more fun. Thanks for talking about edges as well.

    Great video! Thank you. One question. Is it only considered a death spin if the supporting partner does a pivot? With synchro you often see that the supporting skater is not in pivot but kind of baby spread eagle. Is that a different move? Does that have its own name?
